Chapter 12
I swayedto the music as I continued to paint in my space. I didn’t know how much time had gone by since Niko left to get his things. I hadn’t heard the doorbell ring or anything, which was why I knew he hadn’t gotten here yet. I took a step back from the canvas to get a good look and I fell more in love with this piece with each stroke of my brush.
Just then, the doorbell rang, alerting me that I had company. I left the room and jogged downstairs. Looking through the peephole, Niko held food and his bags on the other side. I quickly unlocked the door and opened it wide. I tried to reach out to grab something but he let me know he was all right.
He placed his bag down by the edge of the couch, then walked toward the kitchen to bring the hibachi in. My stomach began to growl at the sight of the food. I couldn’t wait to dig in. I couldn’t remember the last time I had eaten so this would be exactly what I needed.
Once I made it into the kitchen, he had laid the food out on the island and had a box placed on the counter too. I was intrigued, so I walked over and lifted it. It was a card game for couples called Let’s Get Deep. I looked up at Niko, who had a somber expression on his face.
“Hey, what’s wrong? You were fine when you left earlier,” I asked.
I immediately walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist, then placed my chin on his chest to look up at him. He leaned down and kissed me a few times before answering.
“You know, I went to my place, which my brother and sister have access to even when I am not home, you know, for emergencies. Long story short, I walked in and it sounded like someone was fucking in my house. I went upstairs and Kole was in there with some female, getting it in in my guest room. It didn’t make it any better that every reporter known to man was outside of my gate. I just don’t know when he is going to grow up. I had to take my damn key back. Speaking of that, you can have his,” he said.
Niko reached into his pocket and then handed me the key. I craned my head to the side to check his expression. I knew he was irritated so I didn’t want to push that even further, but I had questions.
“So what did he say when you confronted him about it?” I asked.
“The same ole shit. He didn’t know what he was thinking and it was his bad. He didn’t mean to cause drama in my life or do the shit in my house. Then Alexis called me, pleading his case like I wasn’t the one who was wronged,” he vented.
I could tell by his tone this was something he experienced often with his family. It was almost as if it wasn’t required for some of them to take responsibility for their actions. I chose to stay quiet because this was something between him and his siblings that he had under control without me making it worse.
“My first thought when I heard that shit in my house was you,” he said.
I smiled and motioned for him to lean down to kiss me again.
“I appreciate that. I would have hated to see this somewhere and question you on something you didn’t do. I truly appreciate your respect for me. Now let’s eat so we can clear your mind. Oh, and tell me about the card game,” I told him.
I wanted to be his peace, not the person who fanned the smoke to create flames. He gave me a tight-lipped smile, walked over to the island, sat in front of his food, then patted the seat next to himself for me.
He lifted the box and started to take the plastic off.
“I figured we could play this while we eat. It’s just something to help us get to know each other better. I’m so intrigued with knowing every little thing about you, so when I picked up our food at Walmart and those were right there, I went in real quick and bought them since I had heard a few things about it. At first, I was going to get Uno but I don’t need you wanting to tussle after I put the smackdown on you,” he said.
I nudged his shoulder with a laugh. “You almost made me say aww until you added that last part. Sir, I don’t know what losing is when it comes to Uno, so I don’t want to hear that you’re sad when you lose. I have a set of cards on the ready. But we can play this for now. I’m intrigued,” I responded.
I opened the food in front of me and my stomach growled, making me want to eat more. I looked up at him and he had a smile on his face. I held my hand out for him so we could say grace and dig in. I was beyond ready to eat.
I continued to eat my teriyaki chicken and steak with fried rice, while he nibbled here and there. He was so focused on getting those cards out of the pack, which was cool with me. I took the time to grab us a bottle of water since we hadn’t been doing much of that. We had drank wine and other things the entire time so I needed to refresh myself.
The moment I got back to my seat, he looked over at me with a smile.
“Okay, ready? I think we both pick the icebreaker card first, then move on to the other things when we feel more comfortable with,” he instructed.
I nodded. “So, you pull first since I ate most of my food already. I can answer the question while you’re eating.”
He reached over picked up the lilac purple card and turned to face me before reading the card.
“Aight, it says, do you have couples in your life that you admire? What’s special about their relationship?” he asked.
I didn’t need to think hard about the answer to that. I smiled as I thought about my parents.
“Hands down, my parents. They’re so patient with each other. I am sure it didn’t start that way and they needed to work on it to get there, but where they are with each other is beyond beautiful and I aspire to get there with you.”
“I like that. I’m learning patience, for sure. Give me some grace when it comes to that, but I got you, baby.”
I smiled. “My turn. Oh, something light. What’s your favorite TV series of all time, and why?” I asked.
Niko smiled. “Martin, baby. Man, I love a good laugh and that show is just pure genius. I always wanted a dope ass relationship like he had with Gina. It was so playful yet serious and they grew together.”
“I love me some Martin so I have to agree with you there! Although I am for sure a Hillman alumnus. I love A Different World. It made me want to go to college, but then I thought of how much money I might waste by going. It’s crazy, I know, but it was the thought process, for sure.”
“Nah, it’s not crazy. College is beyond expensive. For me, it was a must for the Lockwood household. My parents weren’t going for anything less. Not to mention, that’s how I got noticed to go to the NFL. Although my father had already done his rounds in the NFL as a legend.”
I reached out and touched his hand to bring his eyes back to mine.
“That had to be a lot to live up to. Did he go to that same college as well?” I asked.
He chuckled, then took another bite before answering. “Nah, I wasn’t going for that. I wanted to blaze my own trail, but my dad pushed hard as hell for me to go to his school. The crazy thing is, I still made the same success and decisions in a sense. But, let’s pick one more, then move on to deep.”
I nodded as he picked up another icebreaker card.
“What makes you feel better when you’re sick? Or how do you like to be taken care of when you’re not feeling well?” he asked.
Now this one had me stomped because I hadn’t been taken care of while sick since I was a kid. This wasn’t something I had experience with. Not to mention, I wasn’t sick often.
“Uh, I don’t think I’ve experienced being helped as an adult while being sick. But I can say this, I’m not moody. I get my soup and green tea with honey, then I push through. I’m not very vocal about something like that.”
He nodded and then gripped his chest. “I’m not gon’ lie, baby. I like to be cuddled and treated like fine china.”
I burst into laughter because most men were big babies when it came down to not feeling well. I think it was because it wasn’t something they could control or change quickly. But I didn’t mind his need to be in my space. At least I would know.
“I figured. You give ‘hold me, baby’ vibes,” I joked.
“Man, get out of here.” He laughed.
“I’m just saying. But here goes the last icebreaker question. Why do you keep getting the fun, easy ones?” I asked with my lip poked out.
“It’s all in the cards, baby,” he responded with a shrug.
“I’m starting to think you rigged these. But, my card says, what’s your favorite band or musical artist?” I asked.
Niko leaned back lightly against the back of the chair. “Damn, I really love good music so this one is hard, baby. I have a top three. I can’t pick just one.”
I nodded, understanding his dilemma. “I can agree on needing more than just one.”
“Aight, so hands down, I love Babyface; the smoothest man around with the best music. He wrote some of the greatest songs to ever be sung. Next, my boy Chris Brown, and last, I love me some 2Pac, baby. Ain’t nothin’ like a gangsta party,” he sang with a dance.
I couldn’t help but join right in because I loved me some 2Pac too. Niko laughed.
“Give me your top three,” he said.
I placed my finger on the tip of my chin like I was thinking hard.
“Beyoncé, Chris Brown, and Tank. Those are my golden three all day. They can do no wrong and I will spend any amount of money to see them.”
“I can see that. We gon’ have to get us a few concerts under our belt together.”
“Absolutely, we have time,” I responded.
“I hope so. Aight, let’s go deep. What are the three most important traits you look for in a partner?”
“Good thing I had to think about this already with Arranged Hearts. But for sure, open-mindedness, a great sense of humor, and emotional maturity. I am happy to say, they nailed this with you, baby,” I told him.
“That’s what I like to hear. Gimme some,” he instructed, leaning forward for a kiss, which I obliged.
We went through a few more cards going from deep to deeper and finally making it to the activity cards. I hadn’t expected to enjoy this so much, but I was. It was my turn to pick the first activity card, so I went ahead.
“What does it say?” he asked.
“According to the card, it’s telling me to find something to draw with and put five minutes on the clock. We both have to draw each other and then we get to keep them. You down?” I asked.
Niko bunched up his imaginary sleeves. “Girl, you must haven’t heard about me. I do this.”
“Mhm. I’ll be right back,” I said and he laughed.
I went up to my art room to grab two sheets of paper and some markers since we weren’t in here trying to paint a picture, just draw something real quick. I also brought my timer down and set it up.
Once we had everything set up, we moved our empty containers of food to the side and placed our paper in front of us. I turned the timer on and we started to quickly draw each other. I thought of every quality of his that made him sexy to me. With five minutes, I didn’t have too much time to do more than the bare minimum.
By the time the timer went off, I announced we needed to drop our pencils and markers. Niko lifted his picture against his chest and peeked over at me.
“Aight, let me see yours first since you’re professional,” he said.
I flipped my picture around. It was a quick sketch of him but it was in the abstract sense. His locs were clear, his eyes, his smooth skin, his smile; you could tell it was him.
“That’s dope as hell. I’m putting this in my office at the crib. Now, don’t laugh when you see mine. It doesn’t look nothing like yours.”
I cupped my mouth to hold back my laughter that I knew would soon come and he knew it too. He flipped the picture over and he had my hair every which way, although it was long. My lips were super full in the picture.
“Uh, you did good, baby. But are my lips really that big?” I asked.
He flipped the picture around to look at it again as if he hadn’t seen it before. I couldn’t help but laugh because he was so silly.
“Now, come on now, this ain’t you?” he asked with his lip turned up dramatically.
I laughed harder because this man was pure silly and I loved every second in his presence. Finally, we put our pictures to the side and Niko leaned forward to pick up an activity card.
“Now this is my kind of activity,” he said.
I lifted a brow and leaned forward to try to read the card but he quickly pulled it out of my reach.
“It says I have to spend one minute touching every place I find sexy on you.”
I crossed my arms against my chest with a smirk. “I need to see it to believe it. I think you’re just trying to touch my goods,” I told him with a smirk.
He handed me the card and smiled up at me. “Now, baby, you know damn well I want to touch everything on your body. But the card says I have a minute and I got a lot of ground to cover in sixty seconds. Now set the timer.”
“Niko.” I laughed.
He wagged his finger playfully. “Uh huh, set the timer, woman.”
I followed his instructions and turned the timer on. The moment it started, he ran his finger through my hair, then down the center of my lips, making a trail down my neck and around each breast, then he circled my stomach. Finally reaching my thighs, he spread them, sticking his hands into the elastic band of my pants as he slipped his finger inside of my pussy, causing me to inhale deeply. He pulled out and dragged his finger around my bud and my eyes shut tightly at his touch.
He stepped in between my legs after removing his hand as the timer went off. He cleaned my essence from his single finger, making sure he didn’t leave a thing behind. Then he had the nerve to moan at the taste of me.
I didn’t waste a minute as I shot into his arms, wrapping mine around his neck as he made fast work of getting me out of my panties and sweats. He pushed our pictures to the side and the markers, knocking them to the ground in his pursuit. Lifting me and placing me onto the kitchen island, my pussy was on full display.
He dove in like a man who hadn’t just eaten. I moaned as my head fell back as he continued to send my body to places I had become familiar with whenever we touched. I gripped his dreads, pushing him deeper into my pussy, wanting to make sure he didn’t miss a thing. My orgasms were so intense, my legs shook. I hoped like hell I didn’t pull one of his dreads out one day.
He stood and undid his pants, pulling his dick out. He stuck two fingers in me, then used my essence to wet his dick before plunging into me. He lifted me from the counter and pounded my pussy while holding me. He walked with me toward the living room, ready to wear my ass out. I was here for it all. When he took a seat on my couch, I placed both feet alongside him and started to bounce on his dick, making sure not to go past the head.
When his head shot back and he gripped my ass, I knew I had him, so I picked up my pace, allowing every inch of him to slide into me over and over to the hilt.
“I love this dick.” I moaned.
The smack he gave me to my ass sounded off around the room. The sound of our lovemaking continued to make music in the room, making my pussy wetter.
“Let me hear that shit, baby.” He groaned.
I gripped my breasts in my hands and leaned down to swipe my tongue around each one. As he played with my pearl, causing another orgasm to burst through me, it was so intense, it caused my knees to almost give out. I slowed my pace as Niko lifted me again so he could stand and then put me face down on the couch as he continued to fuck the shit out of me from the back.
I tightened my walls around him, and he groaned. His strokes picked up in pace as he finally nutted. We stood in this moment for a moment as I looked over my shoulder and he leaned in to kiss me.
He slapped my ass and helped me up.
“Let’s go. I’m not done with you yet,” he declared.
I bit my lower lip and followed my husband to my room. If he kept this up, I was certain we would have a baby on the way and I wasn’t too sure I would mind.
