NIAM
I sat in the corner of my office and tried to stay out of the way as Todd worked, but I couldn't keep my eyes off the sexy alpha. He was hunched over stacks of financial documents and seemed to be in his own little world, as if I wasn’t just a few feet away from him. His brow was furrowed in concentration as he examined page after page while he scribbled notes.
When he said he enjoyed the puzzle aspect of his job, he hadn’t been kidding. I could only hope that this one had all of the pieces.
Todd was tall, broad-shouldered, and muscular, with short dark hair and a chiseled jawline. It was impossible not to be mesmerized by his looks.
"Hey, Todd.” I shifted in my seat. “Is there anything I can do to help?"
He glanced up. "Actually, yeah. Can you find every paper from this calendar year and put it in a pile for me?"
I wasn’t sure it was possible, but I was sure going to try.
"Sure thing." I jumped up. For the next hour, I sorted through the dusty filing cabinets and started sorting by date. When I finished with everything from this year, I placed the tall stack in the center of the floor. “Okay, here ya go.”
"Nice." He flashed me a smile that made my knees weak. "Now I need you to separate those into piles based on document type. Like, all the bills that need to be paid, expense reports, client quotes, payroll, and so on."
I nodded and got to work. It wasn’t easy, with papers not being labeled properly and my lack of background to be able to figure it out simply by reading them. It took all of my concentration which wasn’t easy to give, not with Todd in here. Try as I could not to, I continued to sneak glances at him over the next few hours.
Subtly as I could, I stole glances of him as his forearms flexed when he typed or the way his thick thighs strained against his slacks when he crossed his legs.
"Looks good, Niam."
I quickly turned to him. He surveyed my neat stacks of papers with an approving nod. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, of course.” I cleared my throat and wondered what I should do next. I settled on small talk. "So, um, you mentioned you were doing some home renovations. What kind of projects do you have? Any big pipes that need to be inspected." I almost smacked myself when I replayed the ridiculous words that had just spewed from my mouth.
Todd just chuckled and winked up at me. "In fact, I do have a big pipe that’s been clogging lately." He checked his watch and his playful smile dropped. "Shit, it's already midnight. I think we better call it a night."
"Yeah, you’re right." I stood up and stretched my stiff muscles. I hadn’t sat cross-legged on the floor since I was ten. My long legs and bony ass weren’t made for it anymore. "I can be back here by ten tomorrow, if that’s good for you."
"Yeah, that’s good for me." Todd looked around the room and then shrugged. “I guess we can just leave it all here overnight?”
“Yeah, it’ll be fine here. No one comes into the office, so it’ll be waiting for us in the morning.”
“Well, then, good night.” He gave me one last smoldering look before he stood up from the desk and headed out. At least I wanted to think that’s what he was doing. There was a very real possibility that was his trying to stay awake look.
As soon as the door closed behind him, I dropped into a chair and groaned. I was in trouble with Todd. There was no way I could spend all day with him in this stuffy office without my mind wandering to naughty places. He was kind, smart, hot, and single. He was everything I’d put on a list if I were describing my ideal date. Only he wasn’t a date…he was the one person who could help me out of this mess. I couldn’t afford to screw it up.
Todd was an anomaly. An anomaly who made me think dirty thoughts when that should have been the last thing on my mind when sitting in my father’s office. I needed to pull myself together before he came back before I did something stupid like calling him hot or staring at his lips too long.
I palmed myself through my pants and gave my hard cock a firm squeeze. Now that he was gone, I relaxed, no longer worried he would notice how into him I was. If I allowed myself some relief tonight, that would make tomorrow much easier. At least for me. Maybe I could drop some hints and get Todd to pick them up.
No. That was a bad idea. A very bad idea. He was here to help me out of this mess. He worked for me, and while he was an alpha and much larger than me, there was an imbalance of power in play. I needed to leave it alone. For now, anyway.
When this was finished and the business was back on track, that was the time to explore this further. Now was the time to take care of my family, because at the end of the day, family came first. Always.
