BLAKE
“I can’t just…just use you as my study guide.”
“You can use me however you want, Delaney.” As soon as the words came out of my mouth, I cleared my throat, aware of how they sounded. Then I added, “Honestly, this is a lot less work than stealing a whiteboard from the library.”
Delaney kneeled next to me with the marker in hand. Her brows drew together as she studied my body, her gaze drifting over the planes of my stomach. Rationally, I knew she was just considering me as a study canvas, but the way her eyes trailed up my chest made me feel hot and clammy all the same.
Fuck, maybe this was a bad idea after all.
Tentatively, Delaney reached out, bracing one palm on my chest as she brought the marker to my skin with her other hand.
Her touch made me shiver.
I tried to suppress it, but I couldn’t.
Suppressing my body’s reaction to Delaney was a hell of a lot harder than suppressing my thoughts. I had far less control, and considering I’d just offered up my body for her to touch and write all over, that might be a problem.
She released an airy laugh. “Does that tickle?”
“Yeah.” I coughed through the tension coiled up inside me. “Tickles.”
Her eyes darted to mine, and the spark I saw caught me by surprise.
But then I lost sight of it when she looked back down.
I might not have been able to see it anymore, but I could feel it.
The marker dragged over my skin for the next hour.
And Delaney’s touch imprinted on my being.
As if I needed any more reasons to be attached to my best friend.
