Chapter Fifteen

Liam

Spencer’s wet and slippery hands glided along my skin, spreading the foaming body wash all over my chest and abs.

“I think that part is clean enough.” I nipped his bottom lip between my teeth. “Perhaps you can clean me a bit lower.”

“Oh, I will.” Spencer lowered to his knees and looked up at me with hooded eyes. “Like this?”

Spencer took the head of my cock between his parted lips, and I closed my eyes at the sensation of the moist heat. I felt a gentle but firm tug on my sack, and my eyes snapped open and met the smirking expression on my omega’s face.

“Nah-uh.” Spencer licked a line from the base to the tip. “I want my alpha to watch while I please him. Keep your eyes on me.”

“Yes, sir.”

Spencer shook his head and rolled his eyes but when he took my aching cock back into his mouth, I didn’t care. He could boss me around, roll his eyes at me, or make me his slave. Just as long as he never stopped.

Boom.

Spencer popped off my dick and stood up, wide eyed. “What was that?”

Closing my eyes to gain control and force my bear to stay back, I growled. “I don’t know but you stay here, and I’ll go check.”

I stepped out of the oversized walk-in shower and stomped out of the bathroom.

If it is a burglar, I’m gonna scare the shit out of him.

Shush. It is probably nothing and something just fell over in the kitchen.

Sure.

My bear rumbled his argument.

Walking into the kitchen, I sighed at what, no who, I saw. Nicola was standing in my kitchen. Thank goddess she hadn’t brought the kids.

“What are you doing here?” I grabbed a towel and covered myself. “And what was that loud boom?”

“I told you that I wanted to meet your mate as soon as the storm passed. It has been three days, and you haven’t been by. So, I left the kids with their dad and came to meet him myself. I accidentally knocked over the chair. Someone didn’t push it in. Where is Spencer?”

“In the shower. Where I was until I heard you in the house. Now get out and we will be over later.”

“Fine.” Nicola pushed past me and toward my front door. “Dinner at my house at six tonight. Don’t be late.”

Just as Nicola closed the door, Spencer slipped out of the bathroom wearing my black fuzzy robe and looking adorable. “Who was that?”

“My sister. We have dinner plans tonight.” I walked up to my mate and snuck my hand into the inside of his robe, playing with a sensitive nipple.

“Cool.” Spencer leaned in. “Now, let's get back to what she interrupted.”

Spencer

Liam had four rambunctious young boys climbing on top of him. He was the most amazing man I had ever seen. They accidentally kicked him in the junk. He pretended it didn’t hurt and just redirected the little foot to a different area. They poked him in the eye. He closed his eyes and grounded himself before smiling and telling him it was okay, he wasn’t hurt, to spare their little feelings.

“He’s such a great uncle.” Nicola handed me a cup of ginger tea with honey. “He’ll be even a better dad.”

“What?” I turned my full attention to the beautiful brunette who shared the same eyes as my mate. “What do you mean?”

“You don’t even realize you are touching your belly the whole time you were watching them play out there, do you?” Nicola chuckled. “Don’t worry though. Any shifter skilled in noticing the slight honey smell of pregnancy would have known you were with a cub the moment you were close enough to be sniffed. Besides, I can smell the mix of you and Liam. Is it too much for you?”

“No.” I set my mug down. “I’m happy about it. I just can’t help but feel a bit weird.”

“Being with a shifter?” Nicola tilted her head, a small smile on her lips.

“No. Being able to move on so quickly.” I sighed. “I mean, if I hadn’t missed the news reports and had taken an early flight, I wouldn’t have met Liam and I would most likely be married to a cheating liar only a few days ago.”

Nicola nodded. “Instead, Fate played its hand and you found a great man.”

“He is.” A warmth filled me, thinking of my mate.

“Yet, you aren’t claimed yet.” She gestured toward my unmarked neck. “Are you still doubting it?”

“No. I’m not.”

He’s a perfect mate. And I want to be claimed.

“Then make sure you tell him that.” Nicola patted my arm and walked back over to the stove to finish dinner. I looked back out the kitchen bay window to see Liam shift into his bear and chase four tiny bear cubs around in the snow.

“He’s breathtaking.” I couldn’t take my eyes off the sight of my mate in shifted form.

“Oh.” Nicola joined me at the window. “You haven’t seen him in that form yet?”

“I have but it’s still amazing.” I put my hand to my lips as a shocking thought occurred to me. “Will my baby come out as a cub?”

“Um, maybe.” Nicola put her arm around me and squeezed. “If you are planning to go to the hospital for the birth, which I would suggest since you are human, the doctors will most likely do an ultrasound to check if the baby is shifted or not before delivery. If they are shifted, we have little tricks to getting them to shift back into human form.”

“Thank the goddess.”

“Did Isaac get you in the habit of saying that? I don’t know many humans that say goddess instead of god.”

“Well, sort of. But it felt natural. I grew up with a lot of spiritual people. And I’m starting to think my mom was a witch. She used goddess a lot, especially moon goddess.”

“Hmm. That’s interesting. And here you are mated to a shifter.”

“It was Fate.”

“Yeah, it was.”
