Chapter Nine
B ooker held Lexi’s hand, leading her into the cabin’s bedroom. Their bags had been placed in the room, but they wouldn’t need clothes tonight. He’d waited years for this.
He turned Lexi toward him. He wanted to make sure she was ready for this.
“If you’re not ready, I’ll wait. I’ve waited this long for my dream woman, and I can wait as long as you need.”
He watched her lips curve into a smile and her eyes light up.
“Whether you’re Drew or Booker, I want you. I don’t know where this is going but I know that I want you with every breath in my body.”
He chuckled. She might not know where this was going but he did. Once he had her, he wasn’t ever letting her go. He’d keep quiet about that for now because his Lexi always needed to think things through. She could think all she wanted, and each day they were together would cement their relationship more.
He lifted her up and carried her toward the bed, gently laying her down on top of the comforter. He stared at her for a minute, thankful she was giving herself to him.
“You’re beautiful, Lexi. I want you so much I’m worried I’ll disgrace myself.”
Her hand reached up and tugged his face closer.
“I’ll grade on a curve. We’ll average your performance.”
He chuckled and kissed her until her hands were pulling at his shirt. Grade on a curve, would she? Now he had to make it spectacular.
Her moans and sighs as he kissed and caressed every inch he uncovered did his ego good. This time with Lexi was the only time he was making love to someone who mattered.
He kissed down her torso, then paused to take off her shoes and then tug off her jeans. Seeing her in this bed after all these years felt like he was finally home. Maybe he couldn’t find what he’d been missing because he hadn’t realized what it was he was missing. It was Lexi. The girl who’d stolen his heart so many years ago.
When she was completely bare to his eyes, he kicked off his shoes, then divested himself of his clothes as fast as possible. He’d waited forever for this feeling, here, with her.
“What are you thinking?” Lexi asked.
“That I finally have everything I’ve ever wanted,” he said, crawling up her body until he was flush against her. Lexi trembled as her blue eyes darkened. He grinned, then leaned close to her ear. “Now, I need to make sure I get an A plus,” he whispered, then kissed and nibbled down her neck until he came to the full curves that she’d been blessed with over the years. He locked his lips around her nipple, nipping and swirling his tongue around the bud until Lexi was grabbing his shoulders and trying to wrap her legs around him.
He pulled back and blew across her nipple, then moved to her other breast.
“Drew, come on,” Lexi whined.
He chuckled. “If I’m going for extra credit, I can’t ignore one of your breasts.”
“I’ve waited forever. Get inside me, and I promise not to bring up grading on a curve again.”
He sucked on her breast until her nipple was as hard as her other one. He made his way down her torso, kissing and caressing, taking his time. On the outside to Lexi, he might look all cool, but it was all he could do not to come before he got inside her. He’d never been on such a hair trigger before.
When he finally settled between her legs, she whimpered and slid her fingers into his hair, grasping him. When he blew on her sweet clit, she growled and pressed his face closer. Fine, he’d tortured her enough. He had his first taste of Lexi and slid his fingers into her heated sex. He was making her come before he got inside her. Hearing Lexi’s moans as he tasted her and drove her higher had him working not to come yet. When Lexi shook with her orgasm, he slid a condom on and moved up her body. When her eyes opened, he waited until she nodded she was ready, then he thrust in. He’d waited what seemed like a lifetime for this.
Lexi slid her hands up around Drew’s back as he thrust in. She was so wet he slid right in. Feeling him inside her was something she’d thought wouldn’t ever happen. Drew wasn’t a monster-sized cock like some of the books described but he was perfect for her, filling her. Touching each spot until she couldn’t think of anything but him and how he made her feel.
He groaned, “Fuck, Lexi. You feel so good with your pussy clutching my cock. How am I supposed to last when you feel like this?”
She slid her legs up and clasped his hips, smiling up at Drew’s face. He groaned again at the different angle.
“Minx,” he muttered.
Although over the years, she’d been sad about leaving him in high school, she knew this, with him, was more than a high school crush. They were exactly where they were supposed to be. His lips tugging on her nipple, then nipping had heat flaring through her.
The groan of male satisfaction as Drew thrust in and out sent shivers down her spine. She grasped his shoulders, meeting each thrust with her hips until everything coalesced and she came apart.
Drew shouted as he followed her. His warm chest and body covered her. He held her for a little bit then moved off her, dropping a kiss on her shoulder as he got up.
“Let me take care of this.”
She watched his butt as he walked away, his muscles flexing in his thighs and butt. Who knew he’d become a cover model? She listened to water running in the bathroom, then Drew walked out carrying a washcloth.
He grinned, putting one knee on the bed. He ruffled her curls between her legs, then tugged her legs open. He cleaned her with the warmed washcloth.
“There’s a benefit to me reading romance novels. I believe I know what your expectations are,” he said.
Lexi smiled and shook her head at his tone. Yep, she’d gotten it all with him: looks, personality, and a cinnamon roll boyfriend who worshipped her. Now if she could get the happily ever after. She was honestly petrified of what her brother might do. If he was willing to hurt or kill their mother, he’d lost all sense of boundaries.
Drew took the washcloth back to the bathroom, then turned off the light. He walked around the bed and raised the cover, crawling in beside her. He slid his arm under her head, pulling her to lay on his shoulder.
“I can’t let you go to sleep until I get my grade. I can’t deliver a less than perfect performance. So what’s my grade, Lexi?”
She chuckled and turned her head to kiss his jaw, his beard tickling her lips.
“Is there an A plus plus plus on the scale?” she asked.
His arms tightened, hugging her close.
“I love you, Lexi. I want our life together, so I’ll do whatever it takes to have it. Are you okay with that?” Drew asked.
She thought he was asking if she was okay killing her brother. She wasn’t okay with targeting him and a sniper taking him out. She was fine with defending her mom and the property.
“I love you too, Drew. I know he might not survive. My preference would be for him to go to jail, but I need Mom to be safe.”
Drew’s chest moved under her cheek as he breathed deep.
“That’s my goal too, Lexi, but I’m not letting him hurt you or Maureen. Now, let’s go to sleep so we can be fresh for planning and the drive tomorrow.”
Lexi relished Drew’s arms around her, keeping her safe. She’d deal with whatever they faced, but for now, she was going to enjoy her man’s arms around her.
