August 11, 1847
To Mrs. Hulda L. Fernsby,
I’m writing to you in response to your letters. They’ve been reviewed by my committee and voted upon; we are very interested in meeting with you, and in seeing the extended formal proposal you’d mentioned previously. There is a medical certificate we may be able to grant your organization in regard to the access of cadavers, but we will require extensive documentation as to how they’re used to keep that certificate registered.
The committee is reconvening on September 14 in Washington, DC. I have set aside three hours’ time to meet with you specifically, as well as any colleagues you feel best represent your case and your proposition. I hope you will be able to attend.
I think it best to keep this under seal until everything is set in stone. For that very purpose, I hope you will forgive the brevity of my letter.
Sincerely,
Loren Loughty
Chairperson
Congressional Committee for the Continuation of Wizarding
