CALLIE
I wakeup with an ache between my legs I’ve never felt before. A stark reminder of what my new husband and I did last night. He was more demanding than other sexual partners I’ve had, but he took care of me and made sure I came before he did. I felt cherished and cared for, which is all I’ve ever wanted. All I ever dreamed of and now it seems like my wildest dreams have come true.
Kicking the blanket off my body, I wish I could just be happy, but I still think there is something Talon is hiding from me. Some big secret I’m not going to like. Sitting up, I look around the bedroom to find I’m alone. The side of the bed where my husband is supposed to be is empty.
My lips automatically turn into a frown. Where the heck is he? I look out of the window and find the sun is just rising. It can’t be much later than six. Throwing my legs over the side of the bed, I stand up and make my way to the walk-in closet attached to the bedroom.
Since I don’t have any clothes here and I’d rather not walk around the house naked, I grab one of Talon’s white shirts from the hanger and pull it over my bare body. The fabric feels soft and cool against my still heated skin. I bring the collar to my nose and take in a deep breath, enjoying the scent of expensive laundry detergent that smells like Talon.
“Finding everything all right?” Talon’s deep voice startles me. I let out a little shriek and jump a few inches back. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He chuckles as he steps closer.
“You move like a ninja,” I say breathlessly as I take in his bare upper body and gym shorts. There is a sheen of sweat covering his tattooed skin and the urge to run my fingers over his abs is lingering in my mind. “I didn’t hear you come in.”
“I like you wearing my shirt,” Talon admits. “But we can go by your place and get some of your clothes today if you like.”
“Oh sure. I can keep some here?—”
“No,” Talon interrupts. “We’ll get all of your stuff. You are moving in with me, of course.”
Of course?
“Oh… okay.” I should probably be mad about how he is making decisions for me again, but the truth is, I was hoping he wanted me to move in here. Especially since I haven’t been able to pay my rent for the last two months, and my eviction notice is already hanging on the fridge. But I didn’t want to assume anything either.
“So, where did you go this morning? On a run, I assume,” I say, unable to keep the annoyance out of my voice.
“Why are you saying it in such an accusing manner?” Talon asks with a grin.
“Why didn’t you wake me up? I would have run with you.” Doesn’t he remember what I told him last night?
“I thought about it, but I knew you didn’t have workout clothes here.
“Oh, yeah, that’s right,” I say, a little embarrassed that I snapped at him.
“Plus, you looked really cute when you were sleeping.”
My face heats with a blush. Talon closes the distance between us, pressing his muscular body against mine before he leans his head down so his mouth is right next to my ear. “I promise that from now on I will wake you up every morning so we can go on a run together, Wife.” He presses his crotch against my stomach, letting me feel his hardening cock. “Just like I swear to make you come every night while I’m buried deep inside that delicious cunt of yours. And tonight, I’m going to claim that last virgin hole,” he tells me in a husky voice.
I gulp, remembering his finger playing with my back hole last night and the way I had enjoyed it with caution. I clear my throat. “Why can’t we do this now?”
OMG! I can’t believe I just said that.
Talon chuckles deeply, the sound reverberating through my whole body. “My horny little kitten,” he teases playfully before nibbling on my ear. “Can’t wait to get your holes filled by your new husband.”
I groan, lifting my hands and running them over his muscular chest. “Yesterday was amazing.”
“I agree and tonight will be just as good, maybe even better, but I need to let your pussy rest and fill your belly with some food. I also need to prepare your ass before I put my cock inside. I don’t want you to tear. So we’ll do that later. Right now, we’re going to get dressed, then go downstairs to eat breakfast before we drive to your place to pick up your stuff,” Talon announces.
Just like everything he plans, we do just that. I get dressed in the pair of jeans and shirt I came here in before I put my wedding dress on. Then we go downstairs where one of the maids prepares a hearty breakfast for us. Once we’re finished, Talon leads me outside, where a black SVU is already waiting for us.
We slide into the backseat of the car, and I give the driver the address to my apartment. It isn’t until we pull up to the rundown complex that I feel a little self-conscious about showing Talon my place. Two of my neighbors on the sidewalk are eyeing the luxury SUV curiously while the driver finds a parking spot.
“I can just run up real quick. No need for you to come.” I try to keep Talon from coming with me, but he is not having it.
“Don’t be silly, I’m not going to let you carry your bags to the car,” he says with such authority I know there is no use in arguing.
I sigh and climb out of the car after Talon, who holds out his hand for me. I take it and together we walk up the small sidewalk toward the main entrance of the complex.
“Why do you seem so nervous all of a sudden?” Nothing gets by Talon. “You are not hiding any boyfriends I need to kill, are you?”
I giggle at his joke, only to realize he is not smiling. “No! I’m not hiding anything. It’s just… my place is not as nice as yours.”
“Don’t worry about that. I’m sure I’ll love it.” Talon’s reassuring words somehow calm me down.
Together, we take the beat-up staircase to my apartment. My fingers slightly tremble as I dig out my key from my purse, and they don’t stop shaking as I unlock the door and push inside of my tiny one-bedroom apartment. Somehow, today it looks even smaller.
Talon couldn’t look more out of place. I chew my bottom lip as I usher him inside of the cramped space. “It’s not much, but it’s home.” I’ve never felt self-conscious about bringing anyone back to my place, but no one I know has ever lived in a mansion, either.
“It’s cute, I like it,” Talon says without an ounce of sarcasm in his voice.
I sigh in relief, not even sure why it is so important to me he likes my place. I won’t be living here much longer, anyway.
The thought barely leaves my mind before Talon’s eyebrows draw together as he eagle eyes something on my fridge. He walks into the attached kitchenette and grabs the letter with the bright red writing on it.
“What is this?”
“Oh, it’s fine! Everything is taken care of now.” I rush over to grab the eviction notice from his hands. He doesn’t let me.
“I didn’t realize things were this bad. I will take care of this immediately.”
“You already did, Talon. I got the money from the agency. Your family already paid for this, remember?”
Talon doesn’t seem convinced. “I just hate that you were put in this situation. You must have been scared.”
Emotions I’ve been trying to avoid bubble up inside of me. Because the truth is, I was scared. And maybe I still am. I’m scared this is all just a dream and once I wake up, I will still be poor and next month homeless.
Blinking a tear away, I shake my head. “I’m okay now.”
Talon doesn’t say another word. He simply closes the distance between us and wraps his large arms around me, engulfing me in a comforting hug. “You are okay now,” he repeats. “I’ve got you. You never have to worry about money again. Matter of fact. You never have to worry about anything ever again.”
This time, there is no blinking away the tears. They simply run down my heated cheeks and drip onto Talon’s suit jacket. I pull away, not wanting to get his clothes dirty, but he just pulls me tighter to his chest. I quietly sob for a few moments, letting all that worry and anger go from my past so I can embrace my new future with Talon.
After a while, Talon rubs my back before releasing me from his bear hug. “Why don’t you show me your closet so we can gather your stuff?”
“Okay.” I sniff, taking his hand to lead him to my bedroom.
I grab my one and only suitcase from the bottom of my closet and throw it on my bed. Talon unzips it for me before taking a seat next to it on the mattress. Going back and forth between my closet and the bed, I fold all my clothes quickly and stuff them into the suitcase.
By the time I’ve got everything inside, there is still a lot of room in the luggage, so I decide to add some family pictures from my wall and nightstand. “I’ll grab some toiletries and put it in a plastic bag?—”
“That won’t be necessary. I already had the maid shop for those today.”
“Oh, okay. Then I guess I’m all packed up,” I say with a hesitant smile.
Talon stares at me as if he is about to ask me something, but then simply shakes his head and zips up the suitcase.
“Everything all right?” I ask curiously.
“Everything is perfect. We just have one more stop to make before we head back home.”
That stop ended up being a boutique in a neighborhood I’ve never even been in. As soon as we walk inside, two women behind the register swarm us.
“Hello, welcome to Magnolia Boutique. May we help you in any way today?” The curly haired, middle-aged woman asks.
Out of habit, I’m about to say something like… no, thank you, I’m just browsing today, but once again, Talon beats me to it.
“I would like my wife to have a few new outfits. Whatever she likes, head to toe.”
“Oh, how wonderful.” The second salesperson swoons. “What kind of budget are we working with here?” She asks excitingly.
“None,” Talon says, short and simple, before pulling his wallet from his jacket and handing her a black credit card.
Both of the saleslady’s eyes sparkle with excitement. Either they really enjoy picking out clothes or they get paid in commission.
For the next two hours, I try on what feels like two hundred outfits. I like most of them, and Talon insists on buying every one I love. By the time we get out of there, we have accumulated over ten bags full of clothes, and I’ve never felt so pampered in my life.
