As soon as the ancient Ford Mercury pulls into the mechanic shop, I know it’s not going to be a normal day. With smoke pouring out from under the hood, a steady drip of oil leaking onto the ground, and an engine that sounds a woodchipper, I don’t have high hopes this vehicle will be worth the man hours to fix.
The driver inside, however She’s definitely worth taking my time on. The angel has porcelain skin, wide blue eyes, and a button nose. She’s a Disney princess come to life. She looks so out of place among the dirt and grime of the shop. I want to scoop her up and take her home with me. So, I decide to do just that.
Odette is sweeter and more innocent than I could have ever imagined. I’m no good for her, though. I’ve lived a rough life, I’m nearly twice her age, and I’m nowhere near worthy of someone so precious.
