Maverick woke slowly to the sound of an alarm. It took a few minutes of searching to find the phone in his pants on the other side of the room. Waking alone was not what he had thought would happen and it had hurt until he had seen the note that was taped to the empty pillow. ‘Went to help Geralt with his date dinner, I didn’t want to disturb you. Maverick had been so proud to introduce him to everyone as his partner in life. It was so sweet. He couldn’t wait to see where their love went.
