“Where is the other little nigga you usually run with?” I licked the hot sauce off my fingers before taking a bite of my chicken.

Timmy shrugged his shoulders. “He running with Capone now, I guess. Saw him with him, and he ain’t been answering my calls.”

The name Capone always ignited the hate I had for that man. He walked these streets like he was God, and nobody could touch his ass. I wished I had never put that little nigga on when I did. Without me he wouldn’t have none of the shit he had now.

I thought setting his brother up would have made him weaker. Capone and Cappadonna were tied at the hip. One wouldn’t do something without the other, so I knew if I took his brother away that he would be much easier to control and he would fall in line without his brother’s support.

I underestimated him, which I had a bad habit of doing. Capone was supposed to sink, fall in line, and run my shit. This nigga not only knew how to swim, but he had built a fucking boat and was sailing.

Fuck boat. A yacht.

I felt humiliated that this nigga was younger than me and he had more. I was supposed to have all that he had because I had been getting this shit out the mud longer. It had been peaceful, an unspoken truce between us for years. The minute his peoples shot one of my little homies, I knew it was over.

I didn’t necessarily give a fuck about the muthafucka that was shot. Hell, I didn’t even know he was one of my peoples until I was told. I wasn’t going to accept the disrespect, so we had to clap back.

Capone was still walking around like he was untouchable, and I was going to prove to him just how touchable he was. I wanted his twin to come home knowing his brother had been lowered into the fucking ground because of me.

I was the nigga responsible for taking him out.

“How you figure?”

“His sister fucking with him now,” Timmy kicked his feet up on my coffee table. I wasn’t a fan of his little disrespectful ass, but when I found out who his mom was, I couldn’t help but welcome him with open arms.

Tasha’s hoe ass used to bounce on my dick until she went over on Capone’s side. The one thing that bitch could do was cook work and fuck like her life depended on it. I see being a mother wasn’t a strong suit.

“Oh yeah.”

“Bitch always on my case trying to fight me and shit. I can’t stand her stupid ass,” he vented, more to himself than to me.

Timmy reminded me of fucking Simba, and I was Scar. I needed to know all he knew because soon that nigga Capone would end up stinking and the kingdom would become mine.

See, watching all those damn cartoons with my daughter got me comparing real life to fucking Disney movies. “Who his sister?”

“Her name is Erin. She drives the bus and think she better than everybody. Bitch think because she fucking Capone she the shit. I could have been put on with Capone if I wanted.” Timmy lied to himself because he damn sure wasn’t lying to me.

Capone was as heartless as they came, but the nigga had a heart in there too. He probably sent Timmy’s ass away, which is how he ended up on this side. I had a few of his peoples over here that walked away.

They claimed that nigga ran his shit like a navy ship and all they wanted was to make a little money and have fun. Capone had always taken shit way too seriously. Even as a little nigga, he worked harder than my old heads.

He had goals and dreams, and it was clear he accomplished those. Maybe I should have taken him further under my wing.

“Your little homie working with him now?”

Timmy shrugged. “Yeah.”

“You know that’s foul, right?”

“Hell yeah. I put him on with you and he couldn’t even put me on with his peoples.” He was missing my point, but I was going to rock with his reasoning.

“That disloyalty will have you fucked up. People won’t respect you. Some shit like that would have never allowed me to be cool.”

“He my best friend though.”

I raised my eyebrow. “You think so? Seem like he went on to do bigger things and left you where you at. Some niggas don’t want to see you doing better than them, Tim.”

He rubbed his hands together with his head down while trying to think about what I had said. I pulled my drawer out with the Glock 17 sitting right at the top. Wiping my hands, I picked the gun up and walked around the desk.

“Jai ain’t never been like that though.” He was trying to reason with himself, and I couldn’t allow that to happen.

“Capone’s people shot one of my little homies. He was chilling with his peoples and got shot. You on the team now, Tim. We gotta send a message to them… and Jaiden going over there shows he ain’t with the team. Feel me?”

He lifted his head as he eyed the gun in my hand. “I think it’s time for you to become an official part of the team.” I placed the gun into his hands. “Welcome to the team.”

“For real.” The smile on his face couldn’t be denied. He was excited to belong somewhere, and he didn’t give a fuck where that was.

“Hell yeah. You got more heart than half these bozos. You won’t allow anybody to disrespect you.”

“Nah. Never that.”

“So you know you need to teach your homie a lesson, right?”

“K…kill him,” he swallowed.

“I’ll leave that up to you. This the big leagues, man… go with your heart always.” Timmy stood up and tucked the gun in the back of his jeans.

“Good looks, Trilla.”

I smiled. “Always… handle that before people start to talk. Can’t have your right hand switching sides without any consequences.”

“Copy.”

I sat back down and continued to eat my chicken. My chicken tasted much better knowing that I had sent Timmy on a fucking suicide mission. Anything to prove a point and show Capone I wasn’t one to fuck with.

He didn’t learn the first time. I knew he would learn this time though.
