tasha
. . .
Stupid.
These niggas were stupid as bricks and they were basically the blind leading the blind. I’ve run with some real niggas and they never moved this way. I’ve always been so busy trying to protect myself that at the first sign of trouble I moved for the greater good of me.
With one leader dead and the next in prison, you could tell that Stump had never had to step up and rise to the occasion because his ass was making stupid ass moves that made no sense. Like doing a drive-by and shooting Cappadonna. Why in the hell would you do that without making sure you had an army ready and waiting for them because you knew they were going to come back.
It was clear that the beef between the Inferno Gods and Chrome Vipers went deeper than I knew. There was a hate that those Gods had for the Vipers and they were gonna spin they shit every time.
When they shot up Rich’s memorial party, I thought I was a goner with the way I ducked under the bar. That man’s body fell out of the coffin and I watched them fly by like a soul train line and empty their guns into his already dead body. Then they lit his body up in front of his own gang. That should have told Stump to fall back and wait for the next word from Tookie.
Except, he had a big head and thought he could run shit like Tookie did, and that’s how we ended up on the bridge almost losing our life. Had I not grabbed Stump’s gun and aimed at Kincaid, I would have been the next one in a box.
Witnessing Capri whip in and out of traffic like she was a NASCAR driver was impressive and annoying at the same time. Every time we thought we were close to her she would zip in another lane and be miles ahead of us.
It didn’t help that she had a car of other women busting shots and making it nearly impossible to touch her. Stump thought if he got at her, it would make the IG’s listen. According to him, when the Vipers killed Quasim’s girlfriend, they fell in line and the beef was settled.
To me, I felt like he was missing a few things and wasn’t telling the full story. Those Inferno brothers didn’t seem like the type that fell back and allowed things to be. However, since I was on the wrong side – again. I had to listen to the bullshit he spoke about while I sucked his dick and he smoked his blunt.
Stump couldn’t protect me and I knew that he couldn’t, which is why I had been planning my escape away from his ass. It wasn’t like he was in love with me and wanted forever anyway. To him, I was a piece of pussy that he could fuck whenever he wanted. His heart was with his baby mother that he was trying to hide from me like I cared.
Naheim: *shared his location with you*
I looked down at my phone and smiled. If you would have told me that me and Naheim would have been on good terms, I wouldn’t have believed a damn word. He had been so done with me and the last time we spoke when I was in prison, he told me it would be a cold day in hell before I would ever see my son again.
Now, we were about to spend a weekend together and I was going to meet my baby for the first time. The last time I saw him was when they ripped him out of my arms after I had given birth. His location said he was coming through the DMV area, which made sense because he lived in Virginia now.
I was surprised he and Capri didn’t get back with each other. He moved to Virginia to get away from the life and raise our son. According to him, there was no beef with him and the twins, he just didn’t fuck with the lifestyle anymore.
Whenever we did talk on the phone, it didn’t feel like old times, but it was understandable. We were working on trusting each other again and he had to protect our son. He didn’t know what the hell I was into since I was now out of prison when he thought I would be serving the rest of my life in prison.
I shared my location with him. If he trusted me to know his location, then I could trust him to have mine. Naheim had no connections to Capri, and he said they didn’t even speak. She moved on and he moved on with our son.
Naheim: Pretty late so gonna just go to our Airbnb. Breakfast in the morning?
He texted and I smiled so wide.
The fact that I would be able to come face to face with my son and hug him felt surreal. I had dreamed of that day for so long. Wondering what he sounded like, or how he would act with me. Since I been home, my mother told me to keep my ass from around her and my daughter. She claimed she didn’t need to be wrapped up in whatever mess had me out of prison.
This was my third chance to get it right with one of my children. With the way me and Naheim had been chatting, maybe this could be our second chance at actually getting it right. Moving to Virginia, and never looking back with a brand-new life.
Stump pulled on his blunt and laughed as he winked at me. “We about to get out of here soon, baby,” he told me.
I couldn’t wait to get the hell away from him and spend the day with Naheim and NJ. Maybe he would invite me to stay in his Airbnb and I didn’t have to return to Stump’s mama’s house. He lived in the basement apartment and it was very nice, and he paid all his mother’s bills. She was sick, so it was him and his brothers that took care of her.
There was nothing wrong with helping your mama out, but the hoe came downstairs and didn’t knock. One of the times I happened to be in the middle of getting fucked and she came downstairs popping her head into his room.
Stump didn’t see anything wrong with it, he allowed her to come and go in and out of his space, even though he was the one that paid all the bills in this bitch. I knew when I moved in with him that it wouldn’t last long, but it was perfect for right now.
I was homeless with no money so I couldn’t complain too much, so I just kept the peace and allowed him to believe that I was so caught up into him. Meanwhile this nigga liked to pretend he was handling business, but he was going to his baby mom’s house.
I was older than him and had been on this train more than a few times. While he thought he was being lowkey, I already knew and didn’t care. As long as he kept a roof over my head and money in my pockets, he could go fuck a dolphin for all I cared.
With the way that Morgan jump ship and left me for dead, I needed to cling onto something – someone.
Stump finished up his conversation and headed back toward the car. Since he was in control, he was the one everyone looked to and he was eating up the attention they were giving him. All the bitches wanted him and all the little niggas they had coming up wanted to be him. Meanwhile, they didn’t lay beside him as he sat on the phone with Tookie asking him what he should do next.
Tookie wasn’t that much better because his ass was behind bars and couldn’t do anything. So, all the advice he was giving him fell on deaf ears because Stump was so busy trying to prove he was the one.
I buckled my seatbelt as he sped away from the block and headed down a few blocks until we came to a red light. “You could at least tell that hoe not to suck on your neck.” I plucked the passion mark on his neck.
He sucked his teeth. “That’s from you, Tasha. Why you about to start some fucking shit?”
It was how he had the nerve to sit in my face and lie about hickies he knew damn well that I hadn’t given him. It was a damn shame how the fuck men would gaslight the hell out of you with their lies.
“Bullshit, Simon!” I called him out on it, pissed that he was even trying me this way. It was one thing to know he was doing it and then seeing the actual proof was something else.
I ignored the engines in the background because we were in CV territory and we were good. Why the hell was this light so long? I was ready to get the hell away from his ass and this long ass light prevented that. He lit a cigarette and looked at me like I was tripping. “You always starting some shit when we’re good… I wouldn’t have told you that I got you to fuck you ove?—”
“What up, pussy?” I heard a familiar voice and looked behind Stump and noticed the truck that pulled beside us.
My heart sped up when I saw Cappadonna and a woman in a hijab in the passenger seat. “Spray ‘em, Joy.”
“Stum—”
My words were cut off when bullets flew into the car and right into Stump. He slumped forward on the wheel. His eyes were open and the cigarette he had just lit had fell from his lips onto his lap.
I snatched my seatbelt off and was about to hop out the car, but nearly jumped back onto Stump’s dead ass.
Capri was on the back of the motorcycle with Quameer Inferno. They both stared at me and smirked, both exposing gold fangs in both of their mouths. I tried to crawl over Stump’s body to escape the car from his side. She lifted that gun up, aimed straight at me and pulled the trigger.
