Chapter Twelve - Kirill

I lean back against the wall, watching Dimitri and Ivan play pool. The dim lighting of the club casts shadows across their faces, highlighting their focused expressions. Ivan lines up his shot, his movements smooth and calculated, while Dimitri smirks, always ready with a quip or joke. I reach into my pocket and pop an AirPod into my ear. I haven’t heard from my little Malyshka for some time now, and it’s starting to gnaw at me.

One thing I didn’t tell Violet is that the GPS tracking bracelet also has an audio system. I can hear what she’s doing anytime I want. It’s for her own security, of course, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t add to my entertainment. There’s something about her voice, the way she speaks, that draws me in. I always want to know what she’s doing, who she’s talking to. It’s a way to keep her close, even when we’re apart.

I tap on my phone, activating the audio feed from her bracelet. Instantly, I can hear her voice, soft and clear, filling my ear. She’s talking to her friend, Sarah. I chuckle to myself, finding a strange comfort in her mundane conversations.

“What about that guy from the party. Nick, wasn’t it? He was totally into you.”

The mention of this Nick instantly gets my blood boiling. Who the fuck is Nick? I straighten up, my eyes narrowing as I listen more intently.

Violet hesitates, then sighs. “Yeah, Nick. He’s nice, but I’m not really interested anymore.”

I feel a sense of satisfaction at her response, but the anger still simmers beneath the surface. This Nick character better stay out of her way.

Dimitri looks up from the pool table, noticing my change in demeanor. “Everything alright, Boss?” he asks, a hint of curiosity in his tone.

I wave him off, not wanting to discuss it. “Just listening to something,” I mutter, my focus still on the conversation in my ear.

I watch as Dimitri sinks another shot, grinning at Ivan. “Looks like you owe us a round, Ivan,” Dimitri says, his voice full of mock triumph.

Ivan grumbles, lining up his shot. “You just got lucky this time.”

“Lucky? Please, it’s all skill,” Dimitri retorts, glancing over at me. “Right, Kirill? Tell him it’s all skill.”

I smirk, still half listening to the audio feed from Violet’s watch. “If that’s what you want to call it.”

Dimitri laughs, lining up for his final shot. “See, even the boss agrees with me.”

Ivan rolls his eyes but watches intently as Dimitri takes aim. The cue ball cracks against the eight ball, sending it smoothly into the corner pocket. Dimitri straightens up, a triumphant grin on his face. “And that, gentlemen, is game.”

Ivan shakes his head, a reluctant smile tugging at his lips. “Alright, alright. A round on me.”

“Make it two,” Dimitri quips, racking up the balls for the next game.

“So, Kirill,” Ivan says, chalking his cue. “You gonna join us for the next game, or are you too busy listening in on your little heiress?”

I shoot him a warning look, but there’s no malice in his words, just curiosity and a bit of teasing. “I’ll sit this one out. I’ve got other things on my mind.”

“Other things, huh?” Dimitri chuckles, setting up the balls. “Must be something serious to distract you from a game of pool.”

I don’t respond, just watching as Ivan breaks, sending the balls scattering across the table. The conversation shifts to more mundane topics—the latest club business, a recent deal that went particularly well, and Ivan’s complaints about the new supplier.

Dimitri wins the game quickly, his skill at pool undeniable. “Guess you’re buying another round, Ivan,” he says, clapping him on the shoulder.

Ivan groans dramatically. “You guys are gonna bankrupt me at this rate.”

“You’ll survive,” I say dryly. “Next time, maybe you’ll give Dimitri a run for his money.”

Ivan laughs, shaking his head. “Next time, I’ll be ready. Tonight, though, drinks are on me.”

Dimitri grabs his coat, grinning. “Let’s hit the bar. I could use a drink after showing you both how it’s done.”

I follow them to the bar, the camaraderie between us a welcome distraction from the darker thoughts lingering in my mind. The bar area is lively, easing some of the tension from me. As we settle in our private booth, Ivan orders the first round, and the banter continues.

“So, Kirill,” Dimitri says, leaning back with a beer in hand. “What’s really going on with Violet? You seem more invested than usual.”

I take a sip of my drink, choosing my words carefully. “She’s under my protection. That means I need to know what’s happening in her life, who she’s talking to, and what threats are out there.”

Ivan raises an eyebrow. “Caleb; should we be worried?”

My jaw tightens slightly. “No, I don’t think so. I’m keeping tabs just in case.”

Dimitri nods, his expression serious for once. “If you need me to look in on him, just say the word, Boss. We’re here to help.”

I appreciate their loyalty, even if they don’t fully understand the complexities of my situation with Violet. “I know. I’ll let you know if anything changes.”

We finish our drinks and head back to the club, the night’s conversations still lingering in the back of my mind. I slip the AirPod back into my ear, wanting to check in on Violet, and her voice fills my ear once more.

At first, it’s just the sound of her moving around, the rustle of fabric and the creak of the bed as she settles in. Then, I hear something else—soft, breathy moans that send a jolt of electricity through me. I realize with a start what she’s doing.

“Fuck,” I mutter under my breath, quickly leaving the lounge and heading to one of the private rooms. I hear Ivan calling after me, and at least have the sense to call back, “got some business to attend to.”

As soon as I reach my office, I close the door behind me, leaning against it as I focus on the sounds coming through the AirPod. Her moans grow louder, more insistent, and it turns me on more than I care to admit.

My hand drifts to the front of my pants, stroking myself through the fabric as I listen to her. Each moan, each gasp, sends a thrill through me. I imagine her lying in bed, her fingers working her over, her body writhing with pleasure. It’s an image that’s both maddening and irresistible.

“Fuck, she sounds too hot,” I whisper, my own breath coming faster. The thought of her touching herself, of her thinking about me while she does it, drives me wild. I undo my pants, freeing my erection and stroking it slowly, matching the rhythm of her moans.

Her breaths quicken, and I can hear the intensity building. The soft, wet sounds of her fingers moving faster, the hitch in her breath as she gets closer. I grip myself tighter, my strokes becoming more urgent as I picture her in my mind.

Then, just as she’s reaching the peak, I hear it—a low, breathy whisper—“ Kirill. ”

Her voice saying my name sends me over the edge. The fact that she’s thinking of me, that she’s fantasizing about me while she touches herself, is too much. I bite back a groan, my own climax crashing over me as I listen to her finish, her moans softening into contented sighs.

I lean against the wall, breathing heavily, a satisfied grin spreading across my face. The attraction isn’t one-sided. She acts so tough, so independent on the outside, but deep down she has fantasies of me. Knowing that she was thinking of me while playing with herself confirms everything I’ve suspected.

After taking a moment to compose myself, I clean up, grabbing a few tissues from a nearby table and wiping myself down. I adjust my clothes, making sure everything is back in place and presentable. I take a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart, and then head back to the bar where Dimitri and Ivan are waiting.

As I approach, I see Dimitri lean in to Ivan, saying something with a grin on his face. When they notice me, both of them straighten up, curiosity clear in their eyes.

“Everything alright, Boss?” Dimitri asks, a smirk playing on his lips.

I give him a curt nod. “Just had an urgent work call. Nothing you need to worry about.”

Dimitri raises an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. “Work had you rushing off like that? Sounds more interesting than work to me.”

I shoot him a warning look. “It’s nothing you need to know about, Dimitri.”

Ivan, always the more observant of the two, watches me with a knowing glint in his eyes but remains silent. He knows better than to press me when I’m in this kind of mood.

We head back to the booth and sit down. The tension from earlier has dissipated somewhat, but I can tell Dimitri is still curious. He opens his mouth to say something, but Ivan cuts him off, ordering another round of drinks.

“So, Boss,” Ivan says casually, “what’s the plan for tomorrow?”

I take a sip of my drink, grateful for the change of topic. “We need to ensure everything is in place for Violet’s protection. I want round-the-clock surveillance, and I want to know every move she makes.”

Dimitri chuckles. “You’re really going all out for her, huh? Must be something special about this one.”

I glare at him, my tone icy as I say, “She’s under my protection. That’s all you need to know.”

He raises his hands in mock surrender, a playful grin on his face. “Alright, alright. Just making conversation.”

Ivan, sensing the underlying tension, leans back in his seat, his expression thoughtful. “We’ll make sure everything is set, Kirill. You don’t need to worry.”

I nod, appreciating his understanding. “Good. I want no mistakes. Not with this.”

The waitress brings over another round of drinks, and we settle back into a more relaxed conversation. Dimitri regales us with stories from a recent job, his animated storytelling lightening the mood. Ivan listens with a bemused smile, occasionally chiming in with his own observations.

As the night wears on, I find myself glancing at my phone, tempted to check in on Violet again. I resist, knowing it’s better to give her some space for now. The memory of her moans, the way she whispered my name, still lingers in my mind, fueling the desire to keep her safe, to make her mine.
