~ Chapter Four ~

Shit, shit, shit! This wasn’t supposed to happen.
My hands were not supposed to be sliding down her back to cup her ass, only to press her closer to me.
My tongue was not supposed to be wrapped around hers, showing her what it could do, not just here, but all over her body.
My hard dick was not supposed to be pushed against her belly, making her shake in my arms from longing; the same shaking I was enduring.
But was I stopping it?
Not by a long shot.
In fact, I was trying to figure out how to move us far away from all prying eyes and into a room where I could have my very wicked way with her yet still treat her well enough so that her dad didn’t come into the room like a raging lunatic.
As much as I wanted to do so much more to her, I knew this wasn’t the place. It wasn’t that I didn’t believe I could talk to her dad if I wanted more.
But Lucia wasn’t the type of woman I could screw and walk away from. Her dad would have my head on a platter.
Both heads for that matter.
And though this woman in my arms was every bit the temptress, goddess, and siren I would love to have, she’s not the one for me.
My family, my men, would be appalled at me marrying outside the family lines. If marriage ever did come up. Again, she spoke the truth when we were talking about relationships.
“Trevor,” she whispered as we finally broke apart, our chests heaving as if we both ran miles rather than just sharing an earth-shattering kiss.
“Say it again?”
“What, Trevor?”
I shook even more in her arms, causing her plump lips to lift into a smirk.
“I’ve had many people say my name over the years, Lucia, but none have ever said it like that. None have ever made me feel what you just did.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
I eyed her for we both knew our roles rather too well. However, when she moved to step out of my embrace, I only tightened my arms. Every damn cell in my body knew she had to leave, that I had to let her go. But my arms refused to even move in that.
“This is bad, isn’t it?” I whispered, dipping my head to run my nose along the side of her neck, inhaling her scent. A soft, sweet smell of roses and jasmine that had my dick aching even more. Hell, I needed relief and soon.
“Well, I do suppose it is. But,” she whimpered as my teeth scraped over her pulse point.
“Do go on, you siren.”
“I’m pretty far from a virgin and even my father knows that. I know who you are, Trevor. Even better, I know what you are. Why fight the attraction when you have my blessing.”
My hand entangled in her hair, wrapping her midnight locks around my hand, and I yanked her head back, enjoying the gasp she released and the flare of heat in her eyes.
“You’re okay if I screwed you in another room and then parted ways with you, Lucia? You’d be happy with that?”
“Happy, no. But if we both got what we wanted, I don’t see the problem.”
“Fucking siren,” I muttered, before taking her lips once again, this time, I felt the ground shake under my feet.
Lucia
I was drowning in his arms and there was no place else I wanted to be.
But I did lie.
Sure, I wasn’t a virgin and my dad did know. But if I screwed this man like I wanted to do tonight, here, in a dark corner or some unknown room, my father would mutilate this man. I wouldn’t dare have that on my conscience.
Nor the start of a war.
Did that stop me from clutching him tighter as he gave me a bruising kiss?
Nope.
In fact, as the world shook around me, I clung onto him even more.
Finally, he broke the kiss, only to hug me as tight as he could.
Within the next second, I felt the blast of wood splintering at my back and then being hauled to the ground with Trevor on top of me.
“What the fuck was that?” Trevor yelled to someone, but I sure couldn’t make out any guys.
“Trevor, boss, where are you?”
“To your right, O’Malley. How did a bomb go off?”
I squeezed my eyes shut, starting to hear the screams from others.
“Trevor,” I muttered.
“God, Lucia, are you okay?”
“I think I got some splinters or small pieces in my back. Being on my back isn’t helping them.”
“Shit, hold on Siren, I need to make sure it’s safe for you before I let you up.”
I held onto his jacket as I smiled. He may not realize it, but it’s not his job to protect me. He was a man I kissed, nothing more.
And yet, he was acting like a bodyguard rather than the head of the Irish mafia.
“Do you think you can walk if you keep low? I don’t know where your men are, Lucia, but mine are here. I’ll protect you and get you out, then we can talk to your dad.”
“Sure.” It sounded better than any plan I had. Not that I would dare try to find my dad in this mess. I’m sure his own men were removing him as well.
“Come on, Siren.” With that, he carefully lifted me up and then he tried to put his jacket on me, only making me cry out. “Not going to work,” he muttered. “Trust me,” he told me, easily lifting me in his arms as if I weighed nothing and headed out to his car, his men surrounding him.
“Thanks, Trevor,” I whispered, easing into the seat the best I could.
“No thanks needed.” He turned his attention to the driver and then handed me his phone. “I hope you know your dad’s number.”
I took the phone, cocking an eyebrow at him. “Something tells me, Doyle, that my dad’s number is saved anyway.” I easily hit the number in, smirking as his name popped up.
“What do you want, Doyle?” my dad growled into the phone.
“Dad, it’s me.”
“Lucia? Why are you on Trevor’s phone?”
“I was talking to him when the blast happened. He got me out safely, but I wanted to call and let you know.”
“Thank God, I would have hated to have to explain what happened to your mother. You know how she is.” I chuckled at that, for I honestly did know. “Listen, bambina , don’t tell the man I said this,” with that, I looked at Trevor who looked right back at me, “but given the situation, he’s the only one I trust you with, so stick with him.”
