Avery
I curled up against Dexter's warm chest, securely in his arms. After two blissful months together, my heart still fluttered every time he held me close and fed me in a way that only he could. This was the best part of our nightly routine.
Daddy nursing me with his yummy milk before we drifted off to sleep, tangled in each other's arms.
It had been a big day, and decompressing with Daddy was the only way to fully settle my mind. After getting a huge order from a big box store for my novelty stained glass suncatchers, I’d felt anxious and excited and overwhelmed all day.
But as soon as Daddy got home, he held me and played with me and reminded me that he was here to take care of me.
Dexter's sleepy voice came to me in a whisper just before I dozed off. "Get some sleep now, baby boy. I'm so proud of you."
I smiled around his skin but didn’t release him. He just tasted too good, and my lips liked being wrapped around him until I was really, really asleep.
We’d made arrangements to celebrate on Saturday night when neither of us had to think about work.
We usually stayed in so I could fully relax into my Little space, but a fancy dinner sounded nice, so I was quick to agree. "Okay, I can be Big for dinner, as long as I can still have milkies when we get home."
Daddy just shook his head as if I were being silly. I wasn’t. I was completely serious. "Of course, angel. Always."
At the restaurant, I fidgeted in my chair, fighting the urge to color on the fancy tablecloth, even though it was too white and some rainbows and duckies would have looked way better.
“Thank you for being a big boy for me tonight.” Dexter reached across and squeezed my hand. "I need you to be Big for just a little while longer, okay?”
I took a deep breath and nodded. “Sorry. I’m really enjoying our date night, Da- Uh, Dexter.” I winked when I caught myself.
“Close your eyes for me, Avery."
When I opened them, Dexter was kneeling down on one knee beside my chair and holding out a ring. "Avery, will you marry me?"
Tears sprang to my eyes as I nodded frantically. "Yes, yes, a million times yes!"
I dropped onto the floor and wrapped my arms around him, kissing his face all over. I'd never felt so cherished and complete as I did with him. "I love you so much, Dexter. Forever and ever."
"I love you too, baby boy. Forever and ever."
