13 Surprises
SURPRISES
Jackson
“H ey, beautiful.” I greet Mia by bringing her hand to my lips for a kiss.
Technically, this is our second date, but the first that I’m picking her up for, so I’m going to do it right. Although, with everything we’ve experienced together already, it feels like we’ve been dating for weeks at this point. It’s unsettling how much I missed her during the less than twenty-four-hour span we’ve been apart for and that every minute of it was spent with her occupying all corners of my mind.
“Are you going to tell me where we’re going now?” She tried hard to get it out of me on the phone, but I’m not giving in.
“No. I told you, it’s a surprise.”
“And I told you, I don’t like surprises.”
“That’s too bad because I like giving them. So much so that I’m keeping you in the dark until we get there. Do you trust me?”
She laughs. “That’s a loaded question. Do I trust you? For now, yes.”
“Then close your eyes, sweetheart.” She complies, and I reach into the console to grab the scarf I stashed there earlier. “I’m blindfolding you to keep the suspense,” I say, as I bring it to her eyes and tie it around her head while she protests.
“You’re literally keeping me in the dark? People will see, and they’ll think you’re kidnapping me or something. This is embarrassing. You can’t—”
She stops talking when I turn her face toward mine and put my thumb over her mouth to quiet her. I move it back and forth slowly, relishing the feel of her plump lips. As I caress down her neck, her lips part, and it takes everything in me not to lean forward and taste them.
“Don’t worry, Mia. The windows are tinted, so no one can see inside, I promise. It’s only you and me. Are you good?”
She nods in response.
“That’s my girl. Now buckle up, buttercup.”
She fumbles for her seat belt, which, in hindsight, I should have had her do before I blindfolded her, but it gives me a great excuse to get close and breathe her in as I lean over to help.
She was surprised when I called her this morning, forgetting that I had her number from when she’d entered it all those weeks ago. She didn’t hesitate when I asked her out today, but she did protest to the surprise part of it. She tried telling me she needed to know what to wear, but I didn’t take the bait and instead gave her some options. The idea was spontaneous and hit me out of nowhere yesterday.
“So, why wouldn’t you let me come to the door to get you? Are you hiding me?” I ask as I pull away from the curb. It was her one condition for picking her up—she made me promise to stay in the car and text when I got there.
“No, I’m just not ready to tell my mom and have that conversation. I don’t know how she’ll react to hearing that I’m dating my much older boss. Plus, this is new. It might not even go anywhere.” Hearing her say that creates an uncomfortable sensation in my chest.
“Do you really think this isn’t going anywhere? Because I feel like this is going somewhere pretty fucking good. Actually, how about this—don’t answer until I ask you again, okay?”
“I’m sorry, it’s just… I’m not ready to face questions about us.”
“Fair enough. For now, let’s have some fun. How was the rest of your day after I dropped you off?” She blushes as soon as I ask the question, making me wonder if she thought of me as much as I did her.
“Um… not much. Did some laundry, had dinner with my mom, and chatted with Walker before I went to bed. That’s all.” She croaks the last part, as if the words were bitter on her tongue.
“That’s all, huh? Are you sure, Mia? It looks like you’re hiding something.” A deep red creeps up now, compelling me to reach over and caress her cheek.
Her breathing immediately goes shallow. Her response to me is out of this world. I’ve never been with someone so sensitive to a simple touch, and I can’t wait to see her reaction when my hands can finally reach the places I’ve been fantasizing about. With the tightening of my pants, it’s safe to say we’re equal in our hunger for each other. I feel like she’s prompted more erections out of me in the last couple months than I’ve had my entire life.
“No. I mean, yes. I mean, I’m not hiding anything.” I can see her thighs clench, confessing what she won’t.
“Tell me, Mia, did my little girl do something last night that only big girls do?” Shit, I feel like I just opened Pandora’s box, and I’m too weak to shut it.
She bites her lip in response and squeezes her thighs even tighter. “Jackson, don’t.”
“Don’t what? Don’t ask if you touched yourself last night? Don’t ask if you made yourself come? Don’t ask what you were thinking about while you brought yourself to orgasm?” I pause, enjoying the sounds of her desire. “What were you thinking about while you stroked yourself last night, Mia?” I want to hear it out loud.
She’s squirming in her seat now, gripping the armrest tight in one hand and squeezing my fingers with the other.
“Tell me what you were thinking, Mia,” I say more firmly, demanding the answer. Apparently, I’m into self-torture by going down this path.
“You, all right? I was thinking of you… what you looked like that day in your office. And…” Fuck, she does want me just as badly.
“And what, Mia? Say it.”
“What it would be like if you were on top of me… in me.” She squeezes my hand tighter, in a death grip, making my dick jerk in my pants.
“Fuck, Mia. I want that more than you can imagine. But right now, I think you should touch yourself. Show me what you did last night.” I’ll beg if that’s what it takes.
“No! I can’t do that here. You’re crazy.”
“What’s crazy is how much I’m dying to watch. Come on, Mia, you’re aching for it. No one can see. It’s only you and me here.” The pressure in my pants is bordering on excruciating.
I can’t take it anymore and make a split-second decision to pull off the highway. Since it’s a Sunday afternoon, I quickly find a deserted parking lot and park where the chance of someone walking by is unlikely. Having Mia blindfolded worked out better than I thought. We can both enjoy the moment without her seeing a thing. Now it’s up to me to keep my no-touching rule in place.
“Where are we? What are you doing?”
“Shhhh. We’re somewhere private, I swear. You’re not the only one worked up here, and I need a release just as badly as you. If I don’t take care of this, it’s going to be one hell of a long day. Lay your seat back and undo your pants for me, Mia. That’s it. Let me watch as you finger that swollen pussy for me.”
She’s putting the seat back as I work my pants open and gasps at the sound. “What are you doing?”
I laugh. “What do you want me to be doing?”
She licks her lips. Her seat is back, and she slowly undoes her pants.
“Since it’s not fair that you can’t see, and I can, I’ll talk you through it. I’m pulling my dick out of my pants right now. It’s rock-hard for you, Mia. There’s precum already leaking out to make it slick for me. I’m gripping it now, rubbing my thumb over the top, spreading my come all over.”
Her hand slides into her pants. “That’s it, Mia. Show me how you touch yourself. I want to see you come apart.”
Her hand is on her pussy now. I can’t see it, but I can see her fingers moving, and hell… I could probably blow right now.
“Keep talking. I like it,” she tells me, and fuck if that’s not the sexiest thing I’ve heard.
Holy hell, this girl—what she does to me. I put my seat back a little more and close my eyes.
“I’m pumping my dick now, squeezing it hard, imagining it’s your tight little pussy. Fuck, Mia, you’re so wet, I can hear it. Dip your finger in for me.” She does, and I ease up so I don’t come right here and now.
“Good girl. Now take your hand out and show it to me.” When she does, I immediately bring it to my mouth, sucking and savoring her juices.
She bucks her hips and moans. “Jackson.”
“I needed a taste, Mia—something to look forward to.” I put her hand back. “Finish yourself off for me. Let me see you come.”
She reaches in, and we continue together, getting closer and closer.
“That’s it, Mia. Give me a show. Let me see you come undone.” I’m jerking myself fast and hard, the noise loud in the quiet car. Her moans tell me she’s close.
“That’s right, pretend I’m fucking you. Imagine my dick stretching your tight little pussy. Do you feel how big it is? Feel how hard I’m fucking you right now?”
She’s so close. Her mouth is wide, breathing shallow.
“Be my good little girl, Mia, and come for me.” That tips us both over the edge, exploding simultaneously.
“Jackson! Oh my God.”
“Fuck, that’s it. You’re milking my dick, aren’t you?” I let myself go as she whimpers through her own climax. I come onto my stomach in long spurts that seem to go on forever.
Half a minute later, we’re silent and sated, still catching our breaths.
“That was the sexiest fucking experience I’ve ever had.” I chuckle. Here I am at twenty-seven, with more sexual partners than I can count, having the best orgasm of my life without even touching the girl. That’s some crazy shit.
Mia
There’s not much I can say to that considering it was the only experience of my life. Holy crap. Did that seriously just happen? Thank God I’m blindfolded right now, or else I’d die from mortification.
I hear the click of the glove box before something soft is placed in my hand. “Here’s a napkin, in case you need it. I’ll clean up and get back on the road. We’re almost there.”
“Where?” I ask super casually, earning a chuckle.
“Nice try. You’ll see soon enough.” After a moment, he says, “Hey, Mia?”
I turn my head in his direction. “Yeah?”
“Thank you. That was… surprising. And I like surprises.”
I can’t stop the massive smile that forms. “I’m starting to,” I respond, making him laugh again.
“Good, ’cause I’m just getting started.” He brings my hand to his mouth and kisses it, causing butterflies in my belly for no reason other than he makes me happy.
After less than ten minutes of driving, we’re parked once more.
“Can I take the blindfold off now?” I ask as soon as the car turns off.
“Impatient much?”
“Well, I just figured I’d be able to since we’re here. It’s not like you can make me walk around with it on. That would be weird.”
“I’m pretty sure I can do whatever I want, and if you keep it up, I’ll make you keep it on just to mess with you. Now, what’s your favorite animal?”
“Huh? Why?”
“Because it’s part of my quest to know everything about you. Just answer the question.”
“You’re insane.” I think for a moment before answering. “Koalas. What’s yours?”
I’m met with a minute of silence, and then he answers. “Wolves.”
“Why wolves?” I ask.
“Because they’re strong, protective, and care for their women. Why do you like koalas?”
Could his answer be any more perfect? Is this guy for real?
“Because they’re cute. I did a report on them in middle school and fell in love. They look like big cuddlers, and the mom carries her baby in a pouch. I know they’re wild animals and can be aggressive, but how can you think badly of something so adorable?”
“Am I adorable?”
“I wouldn’t put you in the adorable category. More along the lines of… charming.”
“I’ll take it. Okay, so here’s the deal. I’ll remove the blindfold if you keep your eyes closed until I say. I brought a pair of sunglasses so no one will know, and I won’t steer you into danger, I promise.”
“You sure make a lot of promises, you know that?”
“I mean every one of them.”
Sometimes, he just takes my breath away. I swear he’s too good to be true. How did he pull off being an asshole for so long?
“Ugh, fine, I promise to keep my eyes closed.”
“Good girl.” I feel his hand on my cheek, and then his thumb runs over my lips before moving to the scarf. Maybe we should have a round two first…
“Close your eyes, Mia. I mean it, no peeking,” he says before removing the blindfold and replacing it with sunglasses.
“All right, are you ready?” he asks.
“Not really, since I have no idea what we’re doing. This is killing me.” I pout, causing him to chuckle.
“You’ll survive, I’m sure. One more thing. Here, put these in your ears so you can’t hear where we are.” He places a pair of earplugs in my hand.
I scoff. “You’ve got to be kidding me. You’re taking away my sight and my hearing? I don’t know, Jackson.”
“Pretty please? It’ll ruin the surprise if you hear where we are before it’s time. It’ll be worth it, I swear. Just trust me.”
“You’re asking a lot for our first date.”
“Technically, it’s our second date. I took you out to breakfast yesterday, remember? Not to mention the fact that you did sleep over.” I can hear the smirk in his voice.
“Yeah, but that was sort of a product of the situation. This is official.” I groan. “Ugh, whatever, let’s do this.” I put the earplugs in and reach for the door handle but stop when he tells me to wait.
A few seconds later, my door opens, and he guides me out of the car, once again reminding me to keep my eyes closed, threatening me with the blindfold if I cheat. It’s hard not to take a quick peek, but I don’t because, honestly, I’m excited for the surprise.
I was shocked to see “Bosshole” on my caller ID this morning, forgetting that we already had each other’s numbers. My finger hesitated over the Answer button, assuming he was calling for work. I’m still not used to this. At the last minute, I decided to pick it up and was greeted in a very non-work-related way.
“Good morning, sunshine. Are you ready to spend the day with me so I can sweep you off your feet?” He said he didn’t want to take up an evening this week for a date so I could spend time with my mom before our trip. Did this guy step off the pages of a romance novel or what?
Now here I am, still with no clue as to what’s happening, but I’d say my feet have already been swept.
We finally come to a stop, and he guides me to sit before speaking into my ear. “Wait right here for a few minutes while I check in. I’m not going far, and I’ll be able to see you from where I’m at. I’ll keep my eyes on you the entire time, okay?”
After nodding in response, I sit and wait. I can hear background noise, but nothing specific other than what sounds like a lot of kids. I literally have no clue where we are.
A few minutes later, I startle at the feel of a hand on my shoulder before Jackson’s voice sounds in my ear once more. “We’re all set. Keep your eyes closed while we get to our final destination. Not much longer, I promise.”
He then helps me up and leads me forward, keeping my arm tucked in his. I catch snippets of things through the earplugs, which must be industrial with how well they work, and I hear Jackson laugh, telling me there’s another person with us.
I’m ushered into what seems like a golf cart and he gets in beside me. Shoot, I hope we’re not golfing. I never have, and it doesn’t seem all that fun, to be honest. But the kids don’t make sense for that idea unless it’s some sort of golf camp. If that’s his idea of a date, then shoot me now. I’m planning the next one.
After driving for a few minutes, he helps me out, and we walk until we enter a building, coming to a stop. He removes the sunglasses and earplugs and tells me to keep my eyes closed until he says. All I know so far is that some funky smells are going on wherever we are.
“Are you ready, gorgeous?” I nod. “You can open your eyes now.”
My eyes reluctantly open, sensitive from being closed so long, and blink a few times before focusing in on the scene before me. I gasp. There’s a fricking koala sitting on a small treelike structure, happily munching on a leaf while a man in a zookeeper’s uniform stands by. Turning my head back and forth, I take in the surroundings of some sort of lab or veterinary room.
“Surprise, Mia. We’re spending the day at the zoo, and this is our first stop.” He’s smiling down at me with a big grin lighting up his face.
“Wait, how did you plan this so fast? You only found out about my favorite animal minutes ago.” I’m in awe. Seriously, I feel… I don’t know exactly, but this moment… feels special.
“I booked it yesterday, but they let me wait until today to pick which experience we wanted, and lucky for me, you picked an animal they had. It was just meant to be, I guess.” He shrugs, still looking at me with that goofy grin, causing me to giggle.
“I can’t believe you did this. He’s so cute,” I say, returning my attention to the koala. I’ve been to the zoo before—everyone growing up in San Diego has at some point—but I’ve never done anything like this.
“Feel free to come closer and interact with him. We just don’t let you hold them anymore. We’ll show you how to feed him, and you’ll be able to get some pictures. Would you like to get started?” The zookeeper asks, ready to begin.
I nod enthusiastically as Jackson and I move in closer, his hand resting affectionately on my back.
Jackson
Fascination and excitement flit across Mia’s face the entire time we spend with the koala, and I’m more enraptured by watching her than the animal. My sudden infatuation is intense, taking me by storm—a category five that I’m not sure I’ll survive. I went from merely being sexually frustrated to all-around enamored in the span of two days, and now I can’t get enough of her. The floodgates are open, and I’m worried my heart is filling too quickly, but slowing it down seems impossible.
After the behind-the-scenes experience, we enjoyed our private tour for the next two hours and then proceeded to act like kids for the afternoon, wandering around, holding hands, and gawking at the animals while taking silly pictures and laughing hysterically. The gorilla who sat in front of the window, picking his nose and eating it as two more were getting it on in the background, took the award for the day. We were wiping the tears at that point.
Not only was this the best date in history, but it was by far the most fun I’ve ever had with anyone. There’s no denying my feelings that seem to be growing stronger every minute we’re together. My only hope is that I’ve made progress making up for my terrible behavior over the last couple of months so she can catch up to my level.
Both of us are still giddy from the afternoon as we walk out hand in hand, with Mia hugging the enormous stuffed koala I insisted on buying for her. Making our way to the car with matching smiles, I don’t remember the last time I was this happy, and I’m not ready to call it a day.
I stop abruptly and turn to face her. “Will you go to dinner with me? I’m enjoying this too much for it to come to an end,” I say honestly.
“Me too. I’m glad you asked.” Her smile widens more before she unexpectedly throws her arms around me and wraps me in a hug. “Jackson, that was the best day I’ve had in a long time. Thank you so much. I’ll never think of the zoo the same.”
“I’m glad you liked it. It’s at the top of my list too.” Holding her feels so good that I never want to let go, and I’m hoping there’ll be plenty of time for more in the days and weeks to follow.
I reluctantly release my hold as she pulls back. “Let me just call my mom to make sure she didn’t plan dinner already.”
“Go for it. I’ll make a call myself.” Stepping away, I pull up my favorite Italian restaurant to make sure they have room for two, anticipating the thumbs up from her mom.
“We’re good to go. She’s so caught up in her book that she was just going to order in any way.”
I grab her hand as we walk the rest of the way to the car. “Great. Do you like Italian?” I probably should have asked before I chose the place. If she doesn’t, I’ll just cancel, and she can choose somewhere else.
“It’s my favorite. What’s not to like about pizza and pasta?”
“God, I love you—shit… sorry… what I meant is that I love that you’re so real. You’re not fake like the girls I’m used to being with.” I’m glad she’s smiling after the initial look of panic, which is exactly what I did at hearing the words that came out of my mouth.
“Nope, you get what you get with me whether you like it or not. I’m good at keeping a game face on, but I choose not to most of the time. Unless I’m around a certain bosshole.” She smirks up at me and nudges me with her shoulder.
“Damn, you’re not gonna let me live that down for a while, are you?”
“I’m thinking more like never, so don’t hold your breath.” She grins at me, then climbs into her seat, and I shake my head with a smile to match as I close her door.
We continue to laugh the whole way to dinner, recounting the gorilla exhibit. I honestly don’t remember the last time I laughed this much. She’s like the breath of fresh air I didn’t know my lungs were dying for.
Once we’re seated at our table, a question pops into my head. “I’m just curious. What did you tell Walker about Friday night?” I ask, looking up from my menu.
She lifts her head with a contemplative look. “Hm, well, I told him that you showed up right as I was being manhandled and saved the day, then wanted to bring me to your place to declare your undying love to me.”
I choke on my drink and immediately reach for my napkin to wipe up as Mia laughs across the table.
“Just kidding. The first part’s true, and then I told him you’re interested in seeing me. I also said you won’t touch me until my birthday, other than grinding on me that morning.” Her eyebrows go up mockingly.
“God, he must think I’m an asshole trying to take advantage of you, doesn’t he?”
“No. He knows me, and if you think you could take advantage of me? Well, then, you obviously don’t. I let him know that you were the one to put the kibosh on things and wouldn’t let me taint your morals.” She smirks, making me chuckle.
“I’d say they’re pretty flimsy morals after what happened on the way to the zoo. You’re too tempting to resist. Just thinking about it now… let’s just say it’s a good thing there’s a tablecloth.” She giggles as the waiter approaches to take our order.
After he leaves, I ask her what I’ve been dying to know all afternoon. “So tell me, do you like what we did?”
“I’d say that was obvious, wouldn’t you?” she says sarcastically—such a tease.
“You gotta give me more than that. Was there anything you didn’t like, anything you’d change?” Maybe I’m looking for reassurance, but I also want to make sure she’s pleased and gets what she needs from me.
“I would have rather had your hand in my pants instead of mine.” She’s so blunt.
“Fuck, Mia. You’re killing me over here.” I reach down to adjust myself.
“You asked.” She shrugs. “Seriously, though, I like it when you talk. It’s a big turn-on. And when you grabbed my hand and… you know… I almost orgasmed from that alone.”
Thank God we’re in public, or we wouldn’t make it to Wednesday with my no-touching rule. Fuck, this girl is driving me insane. I know what I’ll be doing later. Who am I kidding? I’ll be doing it every night until I make her mine.
“I’m glad you feel comfortable being honest.” She puts her head down at that statement and presses her lips together. I’m sure that has to do with the secrets we both know she’s keeping from me, but I’m not bringing it up while we’re having such a good time.
“So, tell me about school and what you’re going for.” My dick needed a change of subject before it ended up snapping in half. Maybe the rest of the meal will be slightly more comfortable.
We stay on safer topics, and the conversation flows freely without any awkward pauses or moments for the remainder of the meal. After paying, there’s no excuse remaining not to take her home. During the drive, I hold her hand, caressing it as I pull up to her house. Then I turn and bring it to my lips, one of my favorite things to do until I can kiss everywhere else I’m dying to.
“Thank you, Jackson. That was an amazing first—I mean second date. I think you’re ruining me for all others.”
“I would hope so. I’m not seeing anyone else, Mia, and I haven’t for a while. I’m serious about this, and I know I’m in no position to tell you what to do, but I’d like it if you weren’t dating anyone else while we explore the possibility of a relationship.”
“Funny, you’ve never shied away from telling me what to do before,” she sasses.
“Like I said, I’ll go as long as it takes to prove I’m not that guy. How am I doing so far?” I raise my eyebrows up and down in question, pulling a laugh from her.
“Too good. I have to say, I like this new version much better. Jackson 2.0. I can’t wait to see what the next upgrade brings.”
“I think you have an idea what that upgrade looks like after this morning,” I say suggestively.
Her cheeks turn pink, and she presses her lips together while her thighs tense. “Well, I have no intention to see anyone else while we’re dating. I was only trying to distract myself anyway. I was having inappropriate thoughts about my boss at the time.”
I smirk. “Is that so? Were you successful in distracting yourself?”
“Not in the slightest. So I’m glad I don’t have to anymore.”
“Me too.” I grab her hand and hold it while we sit quietly, staring at each other, both in our own heads.
I’ve never had this kind of connection with anyone before. It’s exhilarating and unnerving at the same time. I don’t know what the future looks like, but I know I want her in it.
I reach for the back of her neck and slowly pull her toward me, bringing my lips to her forehead. Lingering there, I breathe her in, savoring the moment.
“I’d offer to walk you to the door, but I won’t in case your mom is watching. I’m looking forward to meeting her, though, to tell her what an amazing daughter she has.”
“Ugh, seriously, you can’t make me like you this much.” She sits back in her seat and closes her eyes for a moment.
“It’s only fair since you’ve already captivated me. It’s time for the question from earlier, do you still think this isn’t going anywhere?”
Turning her head to look at me, she says, “No, I think we’ve already made it somewhere. And if I’m being honest, I’m excited to see where we go.” She reaches for the door handle, ready to retreat after her confession, but I grab her hand and kiss it one last time.
“I’m happy to hear that. I had a great time, Mia. Thank you for spending the day with me. I’ll see you tomorrow morning?”
“Is that a question? Because I’m pretty sure I still work for you unless you’re firing me to make this ethical.”
I chuckle. “There’s no rule against interoffice dating, just my rule—before you came along. Now go before I break another one and kiss you good night.”
“Yes, sir.” She opens the door while laughing, making me shake my head as she walks away.
I haven’t forgotten about the elephant in the room but decide to let it rest for now. With security in place, until she trusts me with the truth, there’s not much more I can do. I plan on bringing it up again while we’re in Montana, but I may need to increase security and implement more invasive measures until then. I’d prefer not to go that route and jeopardize whatever we’re building, but her safety is more important, and I’ll just have to pray she’ll forgive me.
