NOAH
The couple in front of me leaned in toward one another and I rolled my eyes as they passionately kissed one another. In case they had forgotten that I was in the car with them, I cleared my throat, and the two finally separated. Callum looked over his shoulder at me in the backseat, then grinned.
“I would tell you to get a damn room, but I’m headed upstairs with you both,” I muttered, earning a giggle from Nicole.
“I just got in from Los Angeles, and I haven’t seen Cal in about two weeks—” Nicole started to explain until her man cut her off.
“You don’t have to explain a damn thing to him. Once we drop the third wheel, we will celebrate our reunion privately.”
“Thank fuck,” I responded, and grinned at the two.
I, along with the others, hadn’t been too sure about whether things would work out for our friend and the daughter of a friend. So far, they were still in that honeymoon phase of their relationship. Gabriel and Harper had been destined to be together since childhood. Now, even Callum had found someone, and I couldn’t help but wonder who would be next.
Daxon would likely take the plunge next. Romeo and I were too busy with football, and using our celebrity status in both athletic and social circles to settle down with anyone. I had a small lull in my professional career, but that would all change in a few months when the rigorous grind of training camp arrived. It was even more of a reason that I should be out right now fucking my way back through my black book of sorts, yet I was tagging along with a friend and his girl for reasons that escaped me.
No, they didn’t escape me. I had actually volunteered to come back here with them because someone else lived in this building. Lucy Davis. The two of us had fucked that night I had made us dinner, and I had been unable to stop thinking about her since. Lulu was not the type of woman I would ever have gone for before, but there was something about her. Maybe it was the fact that she had recently gotten a raw hand when it came to her asshole ex-husband, or maybe it was because she was so different than those starlets and socialites I tended to take to bed.
There was no need to wonder if she was with me for popularity or status. Lulu might be divorced from Cade Davis, but we all still considered her Titan royalty. There was little to gain from being with me other than the pleasure I could bring her. And that I did. Fuck, I had jacked off more than once reliving the way she shattered for me on her counter. I had wanted to call her a half dozen times, but I stopped myself because I had no idea what I would even say to her. Most of our other encounters had all been random, and I secretly hoped I would see her in the hallway here today like I had that one day.
“Are you coming?” Callum asked, and I realized the two of them had exited the vehicle already while I had been lost in thoughts about Lulu.
“Yeah,” I said, then exited the Porsche SUV.
“Something seems off with you today, Noah. Are you sure that you’re okay?” My friend asked, the concern in his voice coming through.
“Yeah. I’ve just had a few things on my mind. Don’t worry about me, though. Focus on your woman.”
Callum chuckled. “There’s nothing I enjoy more than that.”
Nicole leaned in and the two kissed, causing me to roll my eyes. I actually felt like I had been transported back to high school. I wasn’t in the halls of Rushton Academy, and Cal and Nicole were not Gabe and Harper. I was also a grown man who should’ve been anywhere but here right now. Or maybe I was wrong about that. As we got into the elevator, a young boy I knew well from the society pages came rushing toward the elevator. I quickly held the open button so he could get inside, then watched the way his eyes widened when recognition dawned.
“Holy Moley. You’re Noah Capshaw,” he said, his voice full of awe. I had remembered my own encounters with the players whose posters I would put on my wall during my own youth.
“I am, and you’re Zachary Davis?” I asked.
“Y-You know who I am?” The kid sounded incredulous, and the excitement over that was something I commonly would see when we would visit the different schools in the city, or throw events for them to meet the players.
“I’m a friend of your m... of your parents,” I said, quickly correcting myself.
“Wow. Could you autograph something for me?”
I saw his plea, then realized this was the ‘in’ that I needed.
“Sure. Do you have a marker?”
“I have a pen,” Nicole offered up, until I looked over at her and Callum. My friend said something to her, and she giggled. “Actually, I think I left it on the plane.”
“I don’t have one, either,” Callum said, and Zachary looked crestfallen.
“Do you have one at home?” I asked the boy, and his face perked right up.
“Yes. You would come to sign something there?”
“Absolutely.” The elevator stopped on his floor, and I turned to my friends.
“I’ll meet you both downstairs in about fifteen minutes.”
I exited the elevator and followed Zachary to a place I had come to know better in recent weeks. He quickly unlocked the door, and his mother’s voice greeted him immediately. The way their penthouse was set up, there was a long foyer between the front door and entertaining area, so she didn’t see me right away.
“Is that you, Zach?”
Her voice was so smoky, and sensual. I wanted to hear it cry out my name again as I pushed deep inside of her. I would make her come, then flip her over. I would take her from behind, as I sank even deeper. I would?—
“Mom, Mom. You’ll never believe who I ran into, and he’s here to sign an auto?—”
“Who?” She asked, the tone of her voice changing as her maternal instincts kicked in. By this time, the two of us had cleared the foyer, and I almost chuckled at the shock on her face when she saw me. “Noah?”
“Yes, and I need to go get a marker.” He then turned to me. “I’ll be right back.”
“No hurry,” I told him, then when he bounded down the hallway, I turned my attention to Lulu.
She was in a pair of tight skinny jeans and a simple tank. She could take the most common of outfits and make them look hot as hell. I stared at her lips, immediately remembering the feel and sight of them wrapped around my cock as she sat on the very couch she now stood beside. My eyes dropped lower and as I stared at her nipples, remembering both the feel of them in my mouth, and the taste of the strawberries and whipped cream, they hardened under my perusal. My mouth watered, and I had just dropped my gaze even lower when she finally spoke.
“What are you doing here?”
“I, ahh, was with my friends, and Zachary got into the elevator with us. He wanted an autograph, but I had nothing to write with so we came back here. I hope you don’t mind. He was so excited, and I didn’t want to?—”
“Don’t be upset, Mom. It was all my idea,” Zachary said as he returned to us.
“I’m not upset, baby,” she told him.
“I didn’t know what you wanted to sign, so I brought these out for you to decide,” he told me, thrusting a football, one of my jerseys, and a photograph of me with my team during last year’s wild card round. He also had a marker which I took, and then moved to the island to sign the items.
I looked over at Lulu who was now blushing as she too remembered what the two of us had done on this very counter. My cock hardened, and I knew she would see my erection if she looked down. She kept her eyes on me, though. I scribbled my name across the ball and photograph, then added a small message to the jersey. When I handed them back to him, Zachary was on cloud nine. He proudly held them up to his mother, then grinned boyishly at me.
“I have to go call Bobby and Steven to tell them what I have.”
“Are you going to thank him?” She asked her son.
“Sorry,” he said to her, then turned to me. “Thanks, Noah. You’re the best.”
“You’re welcome,” I told him, then smiled as he took off back down the hallway.
“Thank you for making my son so happy. This has been a difficult time for?—”
“I know,” I told her, as I moved in closer. I wanted to lean in and kiss her breathless, but her son was just in the other room. I settled for lightly gripping her arms. “It’s been a difficult time for you, too. I just wanted to let you know that I’m here for?—”
My words were cut off when the front door opened again. This time, Lulu swiftly stepped back, and I gave her space. A few seconds later, her other two children entered the kitchen. They looked at me, and only the oldest allowed her gaze to linger.
“Hey, don’t I know you from somewhere?” she asked.
“This is Noah Capshaw,” Lulu told her.
I added. “Zachary asked me to sign a few things for him. What’s your name?”
I already knew this was Amanda, and that other was Leslie, but the two gave me their names anyway. The oldest then grabbed the youngest by the arm. “We’re going to pack our things for tonight.”
“Okay, just make sure to get everything because I’ll be working and unable to come back for anything you might have left,” she told them as they started down the hallway. When they entered their rooms, she turned back to me and smiled. “Will you be at the Carters party tonight?”
“I will,” I told her, then glanced over her shoulder to make sure none of the kids were around. “Will you save a dance for me?”
“I... ahh... Party planners don’t usually take to the dance floor. This is a party for?—”
“I know who it is for,” I told her, then dragged a hand down one of her arms. She shivered, and I liked the sight of the goosebumps that rose on her flesh right afterward. I leaned in close so only she would hear, then added. “I meant after the party, Lulu.”
Her breath hitched in her throat, and when she looked up at me, all I wanted to do was throw her back onto either the island or the couch, then kiss the hell out of her. As if she knew where my thoughts had gone, she quickly pulled away from me. “I’m not sure that’s a good idea. The other night was?—”
“It’s all I can think about,” I told her, and when she gasped, I winked. “I’ve gotta go meet Cal and Nicole downstairs, but I’ll see you tonight.”
I didn’t give her a chance to respond as I quickly turned and left her place. Once outside, I leaned against the door. Her son had provided the opening I needed, and that should have scared me away automatically, but it didn’t. I had always loved being around children, and knowing she had three of them was still not a deterrent. With a mouth that wicked, and a pussy that tight... She could’ve had a dozen kids and I would want to fuck her all the same.
I got into the elevator and when I reached the lobby, my friends were already there. They were holding one another and if I had to guess by the beauty’s body language, my friend was bluntly telling her what he planned to do with her once he got her alone. They looked up as I got closer, and Callum grinned at me.
“Did you see her?”
“Her?” I asked, then realized who he meant. “She was there.”
Nicole pulled away from Callum, then flashed a smile at me. “I need to run to the powder room. I’ll be back.”
I doubted that she did, but seeing the look of concern on Callum’s face, I knew why she had left. “Do you know what you’re doing, Noah?” And his words only confirmed that I was right.
“I don’t know what you’re getting at, man?”
“Don’t try to play innocent with me. Gabriel told me about the two of you, and how you look at one another.”
“Damn, I thought only women gossiped,” I muttered.
“It isn’t gossip. We’re concerned about you. Lulu and Cade have just gotten divorced, and there are some rumors out there saying that she?—”
“They are lies, and we all know it. Cade’s a womanizing pig, and if he wasn’t a Titan, he would be insignificant.”
“Maybe so, but?—”
“I wish all of you would lay the fuck off. I like Lulu, and there isn’t a damn thing either of you can...” My voice trailed off as Nicole returned. She looked between me and her man, and I threw my hands up. “I actually need to do something. I’ll catch up with you both at the party.”
I started to walk away, and Callum called to me. “Noah.” When I turned, he had his hands in front of him as if he couldn’t believe I just ended the conversation the way I had. “We care about you?—”
“I appreciate it, but it’s not necessary. I know what I’m doing. Catch you both later.” I then turned back around and exited the building.
