10. Glorious Love

Chapter 10

Glorious Love

GLORY

“ W hat are you pouting for, Glory?” Sir chuckles but I turn up my nose at him. What am I pouting for? Really?

“Are you seriously asking me that right now?” I mutter.

“I am, and are you going to sit here and keep me in suspense?” he watches me with amusement. This asshole!

“You are too much, you know that?!” I fist my hands and stomp my feet, but he only bursts out laughing again.

“You weren’t saying that last night. If anything you were begging me to go harder and—” I slap my hand over his lips, growling in frustration.

“How could you speak on such shameful things so casually?!”

“Princess, tsk, tsk, tsk, the only thing shameful about the past couple of days is that we are not back home continuing,” he wiggles his brows and I deflate, having had enough.

He really is too much! In every way… but that’s what scares me is that his energy is out of this world. Even when I don’t want to, I’m drawn in whenever he reaches out to me.

“Anyway, where are you even taking me? I’m surprised you let me out of my prison today.” I cross my arms and he raises a brow.

“You call that a prison?” he smirks. “I recall you were swimming peacefully and enjoying the garden while eating steak and lobster,” he snorts, and my eyes widen.

“You know it’s improper for you to call me out like that,” I tell him, glaring.

“I’m sorry. Glorious. I’ll do better.” He takes my hand, kissing the back of it, causing me to melt in his arms.

“It might not be a prison, but you are most certainly still holding me captive!”

“Well, you know what they say, Dear Glory, an eye for an eye.” He takes my chin, placing a kiss on my lips, but I frown.

“An eye for an… wait, what did I steal from you?”

“Come on, don’t feign innocence, Princess,” he says as he pulls me onto his, lap smiling so charmingly at me that a few French women walking by stare with envy laced in their eyes.

“I-Innocent?! But I am! I didn’t steal anything!”

“Then how do you explain this beating so wildly?” He takes my hand and places it on his chest that is indeed beating at an astronomical pace. “If you didn’t steal my heart, then who’s this gorgeous woman in front of me that takes my breath away with simply a smile?” The gasp I let out at his statement invites him to pull me in for a deep kiss and snake his tongue into my mouth.

His words taste as sweet as the lips that I’ve steadily grown addicted to the more time I spend with him. By the time he pulls away, I’m the one who’s been robbed of my breath and heart.

“Sir…” I whine, wanting him again even though we went at it twice this morning.

“Save that sweetness for later, Glorious,” he chuckles, holding me tight in his embrace. “Right now, I’m taking my woman somewhere special,” he whispers in my ear.

“S-somewhere sp-special? Even more special than the places you’ve already taken me?” I peek up at him, butterflies beating wildly in my tummy, noting that he called me his woman.

“Yes, even more special than that,” he beams, and I have to look away or my heart will explode. Since the day we signed our contract and finalized that I’d truly be a part of his lifestyle, Sir has been doting on me even more than usual, which I didn’t even think he could, but he never fails to surprise me.

“I don’t know if that’ll even be possible,” I laugh nervously. He’s taken me to all the gems in France and even rented out a theater for me. Honestly, we have been doing so much stuff I’m tired of being on the go. At this point, I wish we could just sit down and enjoy time together or maybe even hang out with Wolf and Bunny. Strangely enough, I miss them.

“Well, it’s possible.” He cups my chin, gazing into my eyes with such intensity it makes my stomach convulse with yearning. “I’m taking my one and special someone to a special somewhere.” He tugs me close, and I duck my head into his chest, inhaling his scent and hugging him close. Ugh, how does he always seem to throw me off guard like his?

“Wh-where?”

“Just wait and see.” He taps my nose with his finger, standing and taking my hand, walking with me along the pier as the sun slowly starts to set.

“Alright, I’ll wait,” I smile, enjoying the moment since I don’t know how long this is going to last. I know it’s silly, but I’d rather enjoy the time we have together. The days without him were painful. No matter how I try to slice it, I’m completely and helplessly in love with this man despite knowing I shouldn’t be.

“Penny for your thoughts?” I ask when I glance up to see him watching me rather than the beautiful skies. “What are you thinking about?”

“Yu… it’s always yu, Glory.” He places tiny kisses on each of my fingers. “I canna live without yu,” he voices, accent coming out thick.

“Who said you had to?” I lie, knowing full well he will at some point.

“No one,” he pauses and places my hand on his cheek. “I dinna go through hell only tu find heaven an’ fall so foolishly because o’ me actions. I want yu by me side always,” he whispers, closing his eyes. Again, I just can’t believe someone can be so strikingly drop dead gorgeous.

After we continued our walk around the pier, I was so tired that by the time the car rolled around and we got inside, I was unable to keep my eyes open.

“Are you tired, Glory?” he pats my back, rocking me.

“Yes, so tired but that’s to be expected… you have been dragging me all over France,” I giggle and cuddle up to him.

“I’m sorry. I just wanted to show you a good time outside of the house and the bedroom… I guess I got carried away,” he chuckles, kissing my head.

“Not at all. I had a wonderful time, but…” I peek up at him. “Tomorrow, can you… I don’t know… can we maybe just sleep in and then later visit Bunny and Wolf?” I ask and his brow raises.

“Resting in is not a problem, but Edouard and Astrid? I thought you weren’t fond of them?”

“What? No… that’s not the case at all it’s just… I just find them… odd and interesting, but in an exciting way. I-in any case, I just want to go back to normal. I don’t need the full itineraries and gifts anymore. I just want you,” I tell him as I snuggle in his arms.

“I understand, Glorious. We will worry about that tomorrow. For now, you can rest some more since you’re tired.” He peppers my face with kisses again.

“Yes, Sir,” I yawn as I feel him step out of the car.
