CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

DECCAN

S creams filled Deccan ears as he walked through the front door. Music to his ears. He couldn’t help but grin as he got closer. He had been waiting all week to torture them, let all his aggression out, and get revenge.

“Prez.” Butch nodded.

Deccan took in the room. Rick and Ken were hanging by their wrists, blood dripping down their arms and faces. Butch, Xavier, Gears, Levi, and Reaper were in the room.

He immediately approached the table, grabbing the baseball bat before turning to them.

“I’m going to have so much fun with you.” He smiled, slapping the bat in his hand.

Ken whimpered. “Please, don’t. Please. I’m begging you.”

His right eye was swollen shut; bruises were appearing on his skin.

“I won’t be spending much time with you, if any at all. Butch or Reaper can have you. I think I’m going to play with you. ” Deccan pointed to Rick.

But this man didn’t whimper at all. He kept eye contact with Deccan. Without warning, Deccan brought the bat back and swung it, connecting with Rick’s ribs.

Cracks sounded as it connected, and shrieks of pain filled the air. All Deccan could do was smile.

“Please, man,” Rick begged. “I promise I won’t do it again. It’s not like she was any good. Didn’t get to see if she was this time.”

Deccan growled as he saw red cloud his vision. Embracing the rage flowing through him, Deccan let loose and started to hit him over and over. He hit his legs, ribs, arms, and head several times, letting everything out.

Blood spattered across Rick’s face and body, but it didn’t stop him. He continued to smack him with the baseball bat.

“Shit, man, he’s dead!” Xavier exclaimed.

Deccan pulled back, looking at the now-dead Rick. He clenched his jaw. He had come in with a plan to slowly torture him to the brink of death and allow him to heal before doing it all over again. But his rage got the best of him.

“Please, I promise I won’t do anything,” Ken whimpered. “Please.”

“Butch, finish him off,” Deccan commanded.

Walking over to the table, he set the bloodied bat on the table before walking to the door.

“Call the cleanup service and have dispose of the bodies,” Deccan ordered.

No one questioned him as he left the building and headed to the clubhouse. He was on edge but felt a little better now that Rick was now dead.

Deccan walked through the front door of the clubhouse, blood still covered him. All tension in his body had left once he finished them off. Now Echo didn’t have to worry about anything.

“Daddy!” Echo yelled, hopping off the stool.

“They’re gone,” he spoke. “You don’t have to worry about them anymore.”

She stood still, and her body relaxed a little. Pride filled him. He was the one to do that. To give her the ability to relax a little and have her know that he would take care of everything.

“Daddy!” She started to run toward him.

“Stop!” Daddy commanded, taking a step away from her. “Do not touch me.”

ECHO

Hurt flashed across Echo’s face as Daddy retreated.

“Deccan,” Xavier growled.

Echo took a step back and wrapped her arms around herself. Daddy didn’t want her nearby. Did he regret killing Ken and Rick for her?

“Little Bit,” Daddy gently said.

“No, it's okay.” She looked away.

“I don’t want you to touch me with all this blood on me.”

She shook her head. “I don’t care.”

She wasn’t disgusted by the blood. Especially because he’d got it for her. He was defending her, avenging her. No one had ever done that before.

“Echo, I can give you all the snuggles after I wash myself.”

The sound of his footsteps left the room, and she didn’t know what to do with herself. Everyone had seen how he acted toward her. How she wanted to go to him, but he’d rejected her.

“Are you okay?” Xavier asked.

Echo didn’t respond. How was she supposed to?

“Go after him. He’s being a dick,” Levi grumbled.

“I agree,” Butch chimed in.

“He doesn’t want me,” she whispered.

“So, don’t give him a choice,” Levi stated.

He was right. She could just see how he took it but she also didn’t want to make it worse. What if she went and he rejected her again? A girl could only take so much rejection.

“Go,” Butch encouraged her.

She looked over in the direction of their room. Was she really considering this? Was she really going to go to him and tell him she didn’t care what he said?

“Two seconds of courage,” Ace said.

“Thought it was ten,” someone called out.

“Nah, ten is too long!” Ace yelled back.

Taking a deep breath, she rolled her shoulders back and headed after Daddy.

“Get it, girly!” Xavier enthusiastically said.

It didn’t take her long to get to their room. Nerves filled her as she stood in front of the their safe space. She was really going to do this. Opening the door, she stepped in and heard the shower.

Perfect.

He was already in, so he wouldn’t be able to say anything until it was too late. Carefully removing her clothes, she flung them on the ground and quietly stepped into the bathroom.

Daddy was standing in the shower, his face under the water. Without thinking, she opened the door and stepped in, wrapping her arms around him. His body tensed before he slowly relaxed.

“Echo,” he groaned.

“I don’t care that you were covered in blood. I don’t care. It won’t make me want you any less. I want you. You having blood on you didn’t bother me,” she quietly said.

“I didn’t want to touch you with my dirty hands. I didn’t want to taint you.” His voice was raw with emotions.

“You wouldn’t have, I promise you.”

Daddy turned around with her arms still wrapped around him before embracing her.

“I love you, Daddy.”

“I love you, too.” He kissed her forehead.

She relaxed into his touch and snuggled into his chest.

“Thank you.” Tears filled her eyes.

“Always and anytime, Little Bit.”
