Leon’s Point of View
I can finally breathe easily now that I have Vivian back where she belongs. These last few weeks have been torture, wondering what Sin might be doing to her. He’s been controlling her mind, poisoning her against me.
When I saw her run from me in the maze and then defy me again in the Underworld, a fury I had never felt before settled within me. The darkness lingers just below the surface.
Vivian has a rebellious streak. Something I will have to break her of.
I should have anticipated the lengths she would go to. I’ve always known she wasn’t capable of making good choices.
She fought our bond almost every step of the way, insisting she wanted to know if our love was real or just a by-product of the magic pulling us together .
I smile, not afraid to admit when I’m wrong. I worried that losing the bond would shatter us. But now I know the truth. Losing the bond changes nothing. I am woven into the very fabric of her soul.
There is no escaping us. Vivian is my destiny.
She will accept me, whether she wants to or not.
She lies before me, peacefully asleep in my bed, as the magic fully takes root inside of her. She will be a beautiful Creator.
The golden wisps of energy play over her skin, fixing her.
Gone are the marks left by Sin. Gone are her ugly scars.
All that remains is divine perfection.
She will settle into her role.
My eyes hover over the golden collar, already imbued into her neck.
She will have no choice.
I run my fingers through her silky hair, admiring the small white flowers the slaves braided into it. It’s a lovely touch.
I had them dress her in an exquisite white gown made from the finest silks. The color of innocence and purity.
Perfect for my bride.
