10. Draco
A lot of people use the saying I play all day, but… Well, I didn’t subscribe to that, because I didn’t play on any day. When Taelyn had her girls’ sleepover, I didn’t think anything of it because I knew her girl Blair was in town. Since Lyn and I had been in our relationship, she’d spent little time with her. Since I wasn’t going to be with my baby, I went to chill with the homie Croy. Ned and Mega were at his house chilling as well.
We were having a great night until Blair tagged me in a post. When I got the tag notification, my antennas were up. Yes, I’d met Blair before, but our short conversation was not indicative of her feeling like she could tag me in shit. I would always be cordial with my wife’s friends, but I would never be their friend. I expected the same of her. Now, our family and those we considered family was different.
When I pulled the post up and read the caption, I knew it was going to be a long night for Lyn and Lilly Milly. When I told my boys to take a ride with me, Mega opted not to. He claimed that if he saw me crash out it would undermine all of the work we had done together. I applauded him for his maturity because he was right. That should have been the moment I chilled, but nah. I needed to see what was going on with my baby and her friend.
I knew she was mad after I fucked with her nut all night, but I had to teach her not to play with me somehow. I definitely was not going to not give her the dick because that would be punishment for me. When she hopped out of the bed to take a shower, I knew exactly why she wanted to urgently. After sex, we normally laid in the bed in our after-sex bliss for a few minutes before we took a shower together.
Before we went to sleep, her mad ass did tell me about the conversation that her and Blair had. I heard the hurt in her tone when she told me about it. I was proud of her decision to sever the friendship.
What I didn’t expect was for this woman of mine to ignore my damn calls and text messages. The first day, I let her have it. The second day, my spirit was unsettled. On day three, I knew I was about to crash the fuck out in the most unprofessional, insensible, and illogical way. I had sessions all day, so I could not get up and leave the office.
I sent my assistant to my house to get my drone from my garage. My drone wasn’t your usual drone either. I paid good money for the commercial drone that I owned. I have used drones in my business with Christianson Enterprises for surveillance reasons. It really did come in handy. Once Kourtney came back with what I needed, I set the coordinates for my baby’s house and let her fly.
Taelyn’s house was 24.6 miles away from my office. The drone that I owned flew roughly fifty miles. When the drone was within five miles from my baby’s house, I went out to my car. It hovered over Washington Circle as I made an important phone call.
“Who is this?”
Was there ever a time that Mr. Smith was not on one hundred?
“Good evening, Mr. Smith. This is Draco, sir. I need you to do me a favor.” I took a big risk calling Lyn’s father, but at this point, I didn’t give a damn.
There was silence on the phone for a second.
“Boy, I barely like your ass, and you’re on my line asking me for a damn favor. I don’t know if you bold, stupid, or dumb.”
“Bold is debatable. The other two have nothing to do with me. What I am is a man that’s about to respectfully crash out on your baby girl if she doesn’t answer her damn phone or respond to my text.”
Mr. Smith tittered lightly. “Well, well, well. Has my baby girl shown you her spoiled side? What the hell did you do to my daughta to make her not take ya calls?”
“I’ve always known that Lyn was spoiled. That is not a problem. I know how to tame my wife well. I didn’t do anything to your hardheaded ass daughter except love her believe it or not. I know her ass is home. Please take your phone to her so I can speak to her.”
My drone’s infrared already peeped that she was in her house on her couch downstairs. She looked really comfortable on that damn couch, too, like she wasn’t ignoring my calls and texts.
“Look, I’m not about to be you and my baby girl’s go between. Get y’all shit together.”
I heard him moving. He mumbled under his breath the entire way to Lyn’s house. I fought the urge to laugh.
After he got there, me and Lyn exchanged some words. I couldn’t do anything but laugh at her father.
“Draco, call that girl’s phone. Nigga, you a whole different level of crazy. A drone! Y’all young niggas are a special kind of fool.”
I snickered. “Mr. Smith, I love your daughter like you love your wife. For Taelyn, just like you would for Mrs. Tae, I’ll kick down doors, snatch engines, and kill niggas behind her. So, am I really a special kind of fool or your kind of fool?”
He laughed again before he hung up. My drone had a microphone and speaker through which I could speak. I dialed my baby’s number, but she still stood there on the porch looking at the drone.
“Answer the fucking phone, Taelyn. ”
She jumped at my voice. After a second, she moved inside her house to answer. Once she picked up the video call, I set my drone to come back to me.
“Lyn, what is wrong with you, love?
I saw the hardheadedness about to come out of her loud and proud.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with me. I’m at my house watching a movie.”
“Taelyn, this is not how we are going to communicate within this relationship. Do you understand?”
I paused to allow her to confirm her understanding.
“I’ll ask again. What is wrong, love?”
She took a deep breath. “I don’t like that you didn’t let me nut the other night. I know I should have told you that I was going to the club, but the punishment did not fit the crime. Is that what’s going to happen when I do something that you don’t like? I don’t like that, Carlton.”
One thing that I prided myself on was my listening skills. When Lyn told me that she didn’t like my actions the other night, that was all I needed to hear to know I wouldn’t do it again. Relationships weren’t as difficult as people would like to make them out to be, especially when you were with your person. When we had issues, instead of acting out, because that was what I did in all honesty, I would better communicate.
I had two more sessions that day. I left the office at the same time as my last patient. When I got to my baby’s house, we sat down and drew out a plan of how we would and wouldn’t handle things when we were upset with each other. Coitus interruptus was off the table.
“This pussy feels different, Lyn, baby.”
We were at her house, and she was riding the fuck out of my dick in the living room. Since I started paying bills here, I added a privacy lock on her front and back door. All of her family had codes for entry. That wasn’t a problem, but I wanted assurance that I could fuck my baby without anyone interrupting.
Her head was thrown back, exposing her beautiful neck. I grabbed it with my hand to pull her to me. I kissed and sucked on her neck.
“I fucking love you.”
“I love you too,” she responded as she rode my dick. “I love you so much.”
My pelvis thrust upward to intensify the feeling that Lyn had when she came down. Since we began having sex, she learned how to work her muscles like a pro. The first time she turned that vice grip on my dick, I nutted before I wanted to. I felt like a prepubescent lil nigga. Shit was embarrassing.
“Lyn, you got my baby in you. Lilly Milly feels real different.” I spoke softly in her ear.
For the past couple of weeks, the feeling of her pussy had been more heavenly than it was prior, and it was pretty damn heavenly before. Her cycle was late as fuck based on the pads and tampon count staying the same in mine and her house. We had never used protection, I had never pulled out, and she never got on birth control. In my mind, all of those factors equaled pregnant pussy. By the end of the week, I would know if she was having my baby.
Lyn moaned into my neck. “Did you put a baby in me, Draco?”
“I hope I did with your thick ass. You know how sexy you’re going to be carrying my baby with a big ass rock on your finger because you’re about to be Mrs. McMasters?”
Just the thought of it had both of us nutting at the same time. Her breathing was shallow. I tapped her on her ass.
“Do you feel better now?”
“So much better. Thank you, baby,” she cooed.
My parents were going to be in Washington Circle in less than two hours. Dinner was at Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s house. Taelyn’s auntie Lela made a mean spread. When we were at the house earlier today, I wondered why she was making so much food. It dawned on me that we were going to have extra guests. Mrs. Tae was not herself earlier. The key indicator was her Pretty Girl references.
Regardless of whether my baby was Taelyn or Pretty Girl, I was always her boo. Mrs. Tae loved both Pretty Girl and Taelyn. That was absolute.
I cupped Lyn’s face. “Baby, everything will be fine. You have nothing to worry about. Dinner will be great. It will be a great night.”
She nodded her head in my hand, but the wetness in her eyes did not convince me. I kissed all over her face to pull a laugh out of her. We got up to take a shower which turned into another fuck session like it always did. Both of us were dressed just in time for my parents to let me know they were pulling in.
Lyn and I met them at their car. We all greeted each other. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were already on the porch when we got to it. Mrs. Tae wore the biggest smile.
“Pretty Girl and Handsome. How are y’all doing?” Who is this?”
My mom stepped forward. “Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I’m DaWanda and this is my husband, Carl. We are Handsome’s parents.”
Mrs. Tae’s eyes widened before her head snapped toward her husband. I was allowed to call her Mrs. Tae, but Lyn’s father said he didn’t know me like that. It was still Mr. Smith for him. Dude was aggy as fuck.
“Pretty Girl, you want me to meet his parents? It’s so nice to meet y’all!”
She hugged my mother with enthusiasm while my father and Mr. Smith exchanged pleasantries. He invited us into the house where we were met by Mont, Brandon, and their wives, as well as Neziah. I loved the connection that my baby and her twin had. I prayed that my twins were in her now. Introductions happened before we all sat down to eat.
Lyn’s aunt cooked an amazing southern dinner with fried and baked chicken as well as fish, baked macaroni, green beans with neckbones, red and white rice, and sweet potatoes. The overall conversations were light. Everyone was too busy eating.
My mom put her fork on her plate. “Trell and Tae, I wanted to just say that Pretty Girl is such an amazing woman. I am so happy that she’s come into my son’s life.”
The smiles on everyone’s face at the table were recognizable. I knew a part of the reason was because of the sensitivity that my mother had when she addressed Mrs. Tae. She was intentional about calling Lyn “Pretty Girl.” My mother had experience with dementia due to my grandmother. She knew to meet Mrs. Tae where she was.
“Oh, Pretty Girl is such a blessing. She comes and sits with me every day to watch my movies with me.” Mrs. Tae leaned forward. In a low voice, she said, “Pretty Girl looks just like my baby girl Taelyn too.” She sat back in her seat with a wide smile. “You’ll meet her. She’ll be coming home to visit soon.”
I gripped my baby’s hand under the table. Out of the Smith children, Mrs. Tae, for the most part, only consistently recognized Tana and Mont. It seemed like her mind always reverted to a time before Taelyn and Neziah were born. I firmly believed that was why Neziah preferred to stay away.
“I can’t wait to meet her.” My mother responded with soft eyes.
By the end of dinner, my father and Mr. Smith made plans to go on a fishing trip. Before I knew it, Mont and I were voluntold that we would be joining them. I loved fishing, but I could tell the same was not true for Mont.
Dinner lasted about an hour and a half. After that, the men separated from the women. It was the right move for my parents and Lyn’s parents to meet. I could tell there was an ease of some sort that fell over Mr. Smith. By meeting my parents who were older than him and his wife, he was able to see how I was raised.
At the end of the night when we parted ways, I was settled with asking Mr. Smith, Neziah, and Mont for my baby’s hand in marriage. For that reason, I invited them to dinner the following week. Let’s see if these niggas are going to give me some act right with this.
GIVE ME HER HAND…
Hall’s Chophouse was where we met for dinner. Tana told me that it was their favorite restaurant when I asked her to assist me with picking out Taelyn’s engagement ring. Tana was excited for her sister, and that made me feel great. Lyn and her sister weren’t as close as I would like them to be because of their age gap. Hopefully, the wedding planning and pregnancy would bring them together more.
These niggas had big appetites. I couldn’t complain because I was over here with a good ass Wagyu steak loving it. We had casual conversation through appetizers and drinks. I waited fifteen minutes or so before I got into why I invited them to dinner.
“I know y’all are probably wondering why I invited y’all here tonight. As you and everyone know, Taelyn and I have been in a committed relationship for a significant amount of time. If I’m being real, I wanted to do this a while ago, but I slowed down my timeline for the sake of y’all.”
Mr. Smith put his fork down. “For our sake? How do you figure it was for our sake?”
“For your sake because had it been up to me, on month three, I would have proposed. We would have been married month six, and probably already pregnant. I knew that with our initial meeting and pushback that I needed to slow down to make you specifically, Mr. Smith, more comfortable with me. The more comfortable you are, the more comfortable my baby will be when she says yes to my proposal.”
Mont snickered. “You are hella confident. It’s always a when with you, not if. ”
“What is a man if he’s not confident? Yes, I say when because I know that Taelyn is my person. She is who God molded for me. I will not doubt or question God. I’m confident that God has given his blessing already. Now, I am asking for the blessing to propose to Taelyn.”
Mr. Smith glared at me for a moment before his eyes softened. It was obvious that Mont and Neziah would take their father’s lead. Neziah was much more laid back than his father and brother. He was more aligned to what his twin desired.
“You bought my baby girl a ring already?”
I nodded, then reached into my jacket pocket to retrieve the ring box. I set it in the middle of the table.
“Tana helped me select a ring for her.”
Neziah was the first to reach for the box and open it. At the sight of the ring, he smiled.
“She’s going to love this. You did good.” He passed the ring to his father.
Mr. Smith observed the ring in silence. I wasn’t sure what went through his head, but it was deep from the series of facial expressions that he went through in the minute that he had his eyes on the ring. He shook his head with a snicker.
“You’re never ready when a nigga comes to you asking for your daughter.” He looked up at me. “I’m going to give you her hand because I know you love her from what I can see and feel. Take care of my fucking baby, Draco.
“This is me and Tae’s last girl. There’s a high chance that Tae will not see Taelyn as Taelyn for the wedding. The ‘Pretty Girl’ shit is cool, but I know the toll that it has on my baby girl. How soon do you think the wedding will happen?”
The corners of my lips peaked upward. “I plan to propose at her birthday dinner. I’m giving her six months to plan our wedding. I know that it is possible with the assistance of your wife’s event firm. I’m not a man that was meant to be engaged for a long period of time.”
Mr. Smith nodded. “I like that plan. You’re a good dude. I know I gave you hell in the beginning. That’s a part of the good father manual. You’ll see when you have a baby girl. After talking with your father, it solidified to me that you are a good dude and raised right.”
“Thank you all for your blessing. I can promise you that Taelyn is good with me.”
There was nothing that they would ever have to worry about when it came to Lyn. From the moment that she stepped into my lobby, I knew that I would always have her.
