CHAPTER 13
Sonnie
I somehow managed to deliver my cake and get to the bar on time, even with my sudden gaggle of famous men. I didn’t exactly understand what the hell was happening, but they didn’t seem to be going anywhere. They’d set up office at a table in the back of the bar and had called some other business-looking man in to join them. I worked with Kacey again that night and she could barely serve two drinks without stopping to stare at their table. She wasn’t the only one, either.
The three of them were the talk of the town. People were freaking out over the celebrities gracing their local watering hole. The bar was busier than normal for a Friday afternoon and I knew it was just going to get busier. I tried asking Jerry to call in extra help but he insisted we could handle the rush. If Kacey didn’t stop staring at the guys, I was going to suffocate in drink orders.
I swung around Kacey to slide two beers over to a man in a giant cowboy hat. “Ten bucks!”
He slid me a twenty and winked at me before making room for a couple of already half-drunk college-aged guys. I looked at their IDs and took their order while pouring a Long Island for a woman at the other end of the bar. It was going to be a long night.
Jerry liked for us to wear the bar t-shirt but I was working up a sweat so I stripped down to just a tank top and threw my hair up in a ponytail. I was in the zone, pouring drinks and running the bar as efficiently as possible while Kacey stood around, barely taking care of the section of bar directly in front of her.
I saw Jerry slinking out of his office to grab a beer and whistled at him. “Jerry! I could use some help back here!”
He held the beer up and shrugged at me before slipping back into his office. Asshole. Kacey didn’t take a hint, either, so I was left in the lurch for another half hour before I snapped.
I jerked off my apron and threw it under the bar. “You’re up, Kacey! I’m taking a break.”
She scoffed. “Are you kidding, Sonnie? We’re slammed.”
“I fucking know! I’ve been running both ends of the bar while you stand here, staring at the new eye candy. I’m taking a break and you can take your turn running back and forth.”
If she said anything else to me, I didn’t hear it. I stomped through the bar and out the front door, desperate to get fresh air. The muggy night air was thick with humidity but it was better than fuming behind the bar. I ignored the few people loitering outside and walked along the side of the building. I hated working with Kacey when there was anything going on that could distract her. I ended up working my ass off and somehow Jerry still thought it was fair to split the tips at the end of the night.
“Hey. You okay?” Drake came up behind me and took my hand to turn me towards him. “What’s wrong?”
I looked up at him and tried to formulate the words I wanted to say. My job sucked, I hated my house, I was lonely, and my feet hurt. Staring up at him, seeing the concern in his eyes, though, I didn’t want to think about my problems anymore. For whatever reason, he’d stumbled into my life and I just wanted to have something for myself, something that felt good for a change.
“She okay?” Cole appeared on Drake’s right side, just as concerned as his friend. “You stomped out of there like you were killing roaches.”
Price moved to stand next to Drake on his other side and nodded. “I’m kind of impressed with the quality of the flooring in there. You were trying to stomp holes and that floor didn’t give.”
I glanced back and forth between them and took a deep breath. “I just need something that feels good. I’m struggling.”
Cole shifted. “What kind of good, Sonnie?”
I looked up at the stars and gripped my throat. “I don’t care. Everything is hard and I just need…something. Anything.”
Drake grabbed me by the hips and dragged me into his chest so he could crush his mouth against mine. I gripped his shirt and stretched up on my tiptoes so I could offer him more of me. His hands slid around to my ass as his tongue swiped over my lips. I gasped and then he was inside, stroking my tongue with his and sliding his lips over mine in a demanding way that sent heat rushing to my core.
When he pulled back, his eyes flashed with hunger as he searched my face. He licked his lips and groaned when I did the same. He tasted like mint and beer and I liked knowing that.
Price swore and cupped my face in his hands. He pulled my face towards his and hesitated with his mouth just over mine. “Tell me no.”
Drake was still gripping my ass and something about it made me burn even hotter. I searched Price’s green eyes and gently leaned into him so my lips pressed ever-so-softly against his. I heard a chorus of groans before Price’s hands tightened and he kissed me how he wanted to.
He kissed me to tease, tugging my lip between his and biting softly before caressing it with his tongue. His kiss was softer, with lingering brushes and shared breaths. It left me panting and pressing my thighs together.
I was in a lust haze after kissing Drake and Price so I couldn’t be blamed for how I pulled away from Price and reached for Cole. I didn’t have a clue what the hell I was doing, but I felt drunk off of them. All my anxiety and stress was forgotten for just a few glorious moments.
Cole growled before pulling me flush against him. If Drake’s kiss was a claiming and Price’s was a tease, Cole’s was a promise. He kissed me like he knew every part of me. His tongue, his lips, even his teeth were involved and he used them to tell me exactly how he’d fuck me. It was rougher and left me breathless.
When I pulled back for the last time, I bit my lip hard and looked at the three of them, feeling turned on but unsure. They each looked ready to devour me and while I didn’t get it, I wanted more of it.
Drake reached out and cupped my neck in his big hand. “You okay?”
I giggled and then squeezed my eyes shut. “Yeah. Sorry. I don’t know why I laughed. I wasn’t expecting that. Did I do that? Did y’all want that? Oops.”
“Are you serious?” Cole grunted at me. “Did we not make it clear that we wanted that?”
Drake dragged his thumb over my mouth. “I can try again if you need more clarity.”
Reality slapped me in the face as I heard Jerry scream my name from behind the guys. I scooted away from the guys, feeling embarrassed and awkward. “Guess I have to go back to work…”
“Are you okay? Do you need more of a break?” Price glanced over his shoulder. “I can talk to your boss for you.”
I pressed my hand to his chest and felt his chest muscles flex. “Wow. Um… Oh! No! I’m okay. Thanks, though.”
I stepped between them and giggled again like an idiot. Drake’s hand landed firmly on my ass and he winked at me when I glanced back at him. I flushed with a scary amount of need and then rushed inside.
Kacey glared at me when she spotted me. “Why are you so happy? I’m drowning back here!”
I shrugged as I pulled my apron on. “It’s fine. We’ll handle it.”
She paused and stared at me with a wide-eyed expression. “What the hell did those men do to you out there? You’re never this calm!”
I glanced over at their table and saw them watching me. Grinning down at the bar as I washed my hands, I cleared my throat and tried to focus. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
