CHAPTER 28
Sonnie
I looked over at Drake and tried to remember to smile. I could do it. I could get out of the car and put a smile on my face in front of a crowd of people waiting to snap pictures of us. My stomach clenched with nerves and I gripped the seat on either side of my thighs. I wasn’t actually sure I could do it. It was only the day after the news had gone nuclear about us and going out in public seemed crazy.
“Maybe we should go back to Price’s and try again a different day.” I bounced my foot too fast and my heel slipped off. What if that happened when I was walking into the restaurant? What if I made an ass of myself by falling flat on my face? What if I cried?
Drake leaned forward and slid my shoe back onto my foot. “You’re nervous.”
I let out a bark of laughter. “Yeah, you could say that.”
We were in the back of a car, the partition up between us and the driver, and Drake surprised me by slipping to the floor in front of me. I gasped when he ran his hands from my ankles to the backs of my knees.
“I understand being nervous. I’m used to all the bullshit now, but when we first started getting photographed all the time, I’d feel sick to my stomach for hours beforehand. I hated it. Price, Cole, and I would always take a couple of shots to calm our nerves.” He moved his hands higher and my dress bunched at his wrists. “I don’t have any whiskey, but I think I can help.”
I stared down at him with wide eyes as he hooked my panties and tugged them down. Even though I felt like he was crazy in that moment, I still lifted my hips to help him. “What are you doing? Aren’t we almost there?”
He leaned back and hit a button. “Circle the block for a bit, Jim.”
The driver’s voice came back through a speaker. “You got it, Mr. Taylor.”
Drake slipped my panties into his pocket and let a slow smile slip over his lips. “Seems like we’ve got time.”
He gripped my hips and pulled me forward on the seat until my ass hovered on the edge. With a wink, he dipped his head under my dress and a second later, I felt his mouth on my core. I tried to stay silent but Drake wasn’t having it.
He lifted his head and met my eyes with a heated gaze. “I want to hear you.”
“The driver…”
“Won’t hear anything unless you hit that button right there.” He nodded to the panel with the buttons and looked back at me. “Let me hear you, Cupcake.”
When his mouth centered over my sex, I didn’t have a choice. His powerful suction over my clit yanked a scream from the depths of my being. I gripped his hair and spread my legs wider, earning a growl from him. He rewarded me by bringing me to orgasm faster than I’d ever known possible. He didn’t let me come down and relax after that first one. He adjusted his hold on my hips and lifted my body higher so I was more available to his mouth.
I sucked in a sharp breath and tugged at his hair as he stroked me with his magical tongue until I was right back on the edge of my orgasm. Without giving me a chance to catch my breath, he shoved me into my pleasure, dragging it out until my mind was numb and my body limp. I called out his name and pressed my thighs together, trying to get a break, but with Drake’s shoulders between them, I had no hope. He wouldn’t stop until he was finished.
When Drake finally sat up, his face was wet and his eyes were starving. He reached over and slapped the button. “Drop us off, Jim.”
I tried to scramble to get my dress down, but my limbs were nearly useless. My breathing was uneven as I watched Drake tug a handkerchief out of his pocket to clean his face. “Wow.”
He sat next to me and neatly folded the handkerchief before putting it back in his jacket pocket. “As soon as this dinner is over, I’m getting you back in this car and I’m fucking you before we get back to Price’s. Sharing you is fun, but I need to fuck you alone. I want one hundred percent of your attention.”
In a lusty daze, I bit my lip and smiled. “Okay.”
I barely noticed when the car came to a stop, but a moment later, Jim opened the back door and flashes went off all around as Drake slid out. He reached in for me and I latched my hand around his. As he pulled me out, even more flashes went off, and I was instantly blinded by them.
“Where are Cole and Price? Is the relationship between all of you already over?”
“Who are you wearing, Sonnie?!”
Drake wrapped his arm around me, leaned down, and pressed a lingering kiss to my mouth that canceled out some of the noise. Before I was ready for the kiss to be over, though, he pulled away and interlaced our fingers. “Let’s go, Cupcake.”
I smiled up at him, centered around him and his kiss. I squeezed his hand and walked beside him up a small red carpet and into a massive glass building. The wall of glass nearest the journalists had large velvet curtains hung to act as privacy for the guests entering the new museum. The Museum of Curated Love wouldn’t have been anything I made the drive for, but it was a great set for our first public date. It’d just worked out that a large charity Drake supported was having a dinner and silent auction in the museum that night.
I’d been shocked when the date had been sprung on us by their publicist but Drake seemed fine with it. He’d only grumbled when the publicist insisted I be dropped off at a salon to have my hair and makeup professionally done. Maybe I should’ve been offended the man seemed horrified by the idea of me doing my own hair and makeup, but I’d never had a day at a salon before. I got to take Rosie with me, too. We’d had our own Pretty Woman moment when an assistant brought in a rack of dresses for me to choose from. Minus the sex work aspect. Mostly. Maybe?
It’d been a fun day with Rosie and I had hope it’d be a fun evening with Drake. He’d stunned my nerves enough that I’d gotten through the line of journalists without tripping even once. The hard part was over. At least, I thought so. I hadn’t really given any thought to what the dinner would be like.
