During a Partial Shift the werewolf retains a humanoid form with select beastly enhancements. The physical transformation of the Partial Shift always follows the same progression— Eyes, Claws, Jaws . First, the werewolf’s eyes change from their human “resting” color to glowing silver. While it takes a while for the werewolf to adjust to their new sight ( 1.02 ), once they do, their silver eyes will provide superior vision, as evidenced when Colby uses his Partial Shift sight to navigate the depths of the ocean on a mission tracking Merpeople ( 3.08 ). Next, their fingernails harden and lengthen to produce steel-like claws of approximately 1 inch in length. These can be used as weapons or utility tools, depending on the situation. Finally, their incisors extend into fangs, which, while not poisonous, are sharp enough to easily punch through metal ( 2.12 ).

Partial Shifts are most often triggered when the werewolf experiences extreme emotions resulting in a loss of control ( 1.15 , 5.10 , 12.20 , 15.04 ).
