The season 1 narrative arc revolves around Colby accepting and adapting to life as a werewolf. His mentor, Bathalda , is part of a centuries-old order called The Guild , a secret society that exists to find and prepare The One to defend the world against supernatural threat.

The Trials consist of three main tests, which Colby must pass before The Guild will release him from captivity: Endurance , Instinct , and Submission . Each test represents an essential aspect of managing and wielding his wolf.
