Fanatic
B last, I needed to return to the house. Willow was at work; they’d landed a case, and she was busy with shit there. Jinx and I had torn the office apart looking for a design I wanted, and couldn’t find it, which meant it had to be at my home office.
“Jinx, I’m going to head to the rental. The schematic has to be there,” I announced.
“Okay, I’ll come,” Jinx replied.
“No, it’s fine, stay here,”
“Chance said you weren’t to go anywhere alone, Fanatic. That asshole is still out there,” Jinx stated, and his jaw jutted out.
“Fair enough.” I didn’t bother arguing; it wasn’t worth putting Jinx in a bad place.
Gladys was at the clubhouse today with Danny, so I didn’t have to worry about him inadvertently seeing me. The little sod had learned one word and refused to say another. Everyone was Nanna, according to Danny. Mum and Dad didn’t figure in Danny’s vocabulary. On some level, Danny understood that Ellen had risked everything for him, and he adored her. Which really put Mum’s nose out of joint.
Mum was not used to being the second-best grandparent, and she was fighting several sets of grandparents. Grey’s parents took Danny on a Saturday. Willow had been discussing letting him sleep overnight but wasn’t there yet. Both sets of Grey’s grandparents were also alive, and then there was Axel and Ellen. And Mum and Dad. Out of all of them, Axel and Ellen saw Danny the most because we were living on the Hellfire compound.
Axel and Ellen still lived in her cottage, which was a few minutes’ drive which meant Mum’s nose was right out of joint. Mum and Dad had Danny on a Friday, which they loved, but Mum wanted more. That was nice but Willow was his mom and deserved to have quality time with Danny.
Tensions were rising, and the grandparents needed to settle down. Willow and I were incredibly generous with Danny’s time.
Annoyed at myself, I headed for my bike with Jinx following, and we roared out, waving at Rascal as he opened the gates. The day was warm, with a light breeze. It was wonderful to ride, and I wanted to take a longer one, but that wasn’t possible. I needed to get this design printed and ready to paint. With the trips to hospital, it had taken a while to catch up as I’d fallen behind, and my schedule had already been tight.
Jinx and I pulled up on the drive and parked the bikes. Swinging off them, I yanked the keys from my pocket.
“Hey!” Edna cried as she scurried across the street.
“What do you want?” I demanded, with no intention of playing her bullshit games.
“You signed a rental agreement. You’re not allowed to sublet,” Edna hissed.
“What the fuck are you on about?” Jesus, did her poison never stop?
“I’ve filed a complaint against you! I’ll have you out of that house!”
“Whatever. Just piss off, will you!” I replied and turned my back on her.
“You’re going to be kicked out. You and that whore of yours. And whoever that person is, I’ve reported him for walking naked in front of the windows,” Edna hissed.
Edna’s words stopped me mid-stride. At first, it was the whore, but Edna’s following comments landed.
“Are you telling me there’s somebody living in my home?” I snapped.
“Don’t act innocent!” Edna snarled.
“Seriously, you’ve seen someone inside?”
“Yes! And I’ll have you all thrown out!” Edna howled triumphantly.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I shouted, and Edna stepped back, looking shocked. “A woman was slaughtered in that house, and someone’s been living there, and it ain’t me and Willow. Did you even call the police, or was your poison so fucking deep, you just went after us? You’ve probably been watching the murderer, and you called to complain we sublet?”
The astonishment I was feeling couldn’t be faked. This woman was beyond fucked up. I’d not known anyone with such bitter hate.
“What are you talking about? Don’t try to wriggle out of this,” Edna hissed.
“Jinx, call the cops, nine-one-one it. I’m going to check this out. And stay out. We’ve no idea who’s inside,” I said, pulling my gun.
Edna shrieked and raced across the road, yelling I was going to shoot her. I was sorely fucking tempted to. I’d be doing mankind a favour. What a fuckin poisonous bitch. Who the hell knows there’s been a murder and yet calls the realtor when they see somebody on a property who shouldn’t be present? That cunt, apparently.
I opened the front door and slipped inside. The police tape had been broken. The police had released the house to us, but Willow and I hadn’t returned since April’s body was found.
Instantly, I knew I was not alone. Silently, I moved from room to room, clearing the downstairs. I spotted a bike covered over in the rear. What the hell? That wasn’t Grey’s because Grey was now at Chance’s house. I’d had a bad feeling and got Jinx to pick it up and move it. Several things were out of place. The glaringly obvious was the arrangement of the furniture. The layout had been changed.
Cautiously, I crept towards the stairs, keeping my head on a swivel. The wise thing to do was leave, but I couldn’t. Someone was here, and I didn’t want the asshole escaping.
There was a scuffle from upstairs, and I slowly began walking up, keeping my back to the wall and gun extended. On reaching the landing, I heard another noise, and it came from Willow’s bedroom. I’d leave, except there wasn’t a smell, which hopefully didn’t mean a second dead body. Fuck. I cleared each room as I headed towards Willow’s room, and as I snapped my head round the door, I spotted a shadow.
“I’m armed!”
“Who gives a shit? So am I!” a voice retorted, and I stiffened. Because it came from behind. Something hit me hard, and it was lights out.
I didn’t know how long I was unconscious—it wasn’t more than a few minutes. But I woke tied to a chair, and I gingerly tested the restraints. They were semi-tight, but there was wriggle room. Unexpectedly, something fell from the ropes and into my palm. A small knife. What the fuck?
“Wake up!” a voice ordered, and I blinked as water was thrown in my face. I opened my eyes and focused and stared in disbelief at the person in front of me.
“You?” I exclaimed incredulously.
“Me!” he cried. Vampire’s flabby, pasty, white body danced in dirty tighty-whiteys, and I barely swallowed bile.
“Where’s my girl?” Vampire snapped.
“Your what?”
“April! Where is she? Nobody sucked my dick like her!” Vampire shouted.
“April’s dead!”
“Fuck you. April was my sex toy. Perfect, never bitched, took my cock without a complaint and sucked my dick like a pro! You didn’t want her, she’s mine! You should be dead. I swapped your medication out, but you didn’t die. And April’s always going to be mine,” Vampire crowed.
Well, that answered the question of who’d been fucking with me. The sun shone on his face, and I saw the insanity written all over it. Vampire’s eyes gleamed with madness.
“You raped her!”
Vampire hit me, and although my head turned to the side, the blow lacked strength, one of the Hellions could have hit harder. But that clearly made Vampire think he was the boss.
“It wasn’t rape!” Vampire yelled. “She wanted me. April was watching you when you threw me out. She got me in the car and took me to her place. April wanted me. At first, she said no, but April was playing coy. Bitch was panting for me. April was ideal, loved rough sex, and I fucked her that way. Fucked her front and back, and she screamed for me. Not you, Fanatic, April didn’t scream for you!”
Shit, Vampire was so far gone he didn’t recognise rape. Vampire had twisted everything up inside his head to make it appear April wanted him. Poor fuckin’ April.
“I told April if she was a good girl and told everyone that you’d raped her, I would leave her alone. She begged to let her help. I showed her my pictures of my other princesses. Told her I’d make her a queen, and she’d rule over them. April agreed and said to beat her so it looked believable.
“Then I got a surprise! Her sister turned up. April had a baby sister. So I took May to ensure April did as I ordered. Afterall, she was going to be my queen; she’d obey me, anyway. I wanted to make May my princess, but April was jealous. April made me promise not to share my dick with May, even though May was begging.
“April told the police how you’d abused her and then came running back. My queen got on her knees and sucked my cock as a thank you for not touching May. But May is a sneaky bitch. She was panting over me. I had to deal with them both,” Vampire ranted.
Bile rose in my throat as I finally glanced at the bed. A terrified young teenager stared at me. May looked about sixteen, and I could tell Vampire had been raping and abusing her. She was curled up tightly in a ball. And I bet May was the one who’d given me the knife.
Vampire continued ranting, and a punch hit me again. I almost dropped the blade.
“Stop watching her. You wanna fuck everything, don’t you? Well, I fucked April on your whore’s bed and in her clothes.”
Oh, Jesus, I was buying Willow a whole new wardrobe after this. I looked away from May as Vampire struck her hard.
“What do you want, Vampire?” I asked, dragging his attention back.
“You embarrassed me. Now, I’m going to do the same, you’re nothing but a prospect. You weren’t even promoted with the others because you weren’t good enough. How’s that feel?” Vampire yelled.
“Like you need serious help,” I replied as the rope snapped and my hands were free. I just had to bide my time. Which was quickly running out as Vampire drew a gun.
“How should I shoot him? Fanatic’s head? Knees? Tiny cock? Tell me, April,” Vampire asked, looking at the bed.
May curled up even tighter.
“Tell me, April! I know you are in May. You’re sisters, and May sucks dick like you do. I know you took over May’s body because you didn’t want to leave me,” Vampire screamed.
Jesus. Christ.
I leapt up, luckily, my ankles weren’t tied and I headed for Vampire. He wasn’t expecting the attack, and I stabbed him in the throat with the blade. It was meant to be a killing blow, but the fucker began fighting back. Shit, Vampire was that crazed, he didn’t even know when he was dying.
Blood sprayed everywhere, but Vampire struggled to raise his weapon. It went off, and I jumped and prayed that May hadn’t been hit.
I kept fighting as Vampire’s eyes bugged from his head. Spittle hit my face as Vampire huffed and puffed, trying to keep hold of the gun. There was a second shot, and blood spray covered my face, and Vampire’s manic gleam faded. His body began collapsing to the carpet as sirens shrieked outside the house.
“Put your weapon on the floor. Step back against the wall,” I ordered.
Jinx, with his face pale, did as told as feet pounded up the stairs. I’d hoped to see a friendly face, but uniforms poured in. They whipped their guns out on seeing the scene. Moments later, Jinx and I were cuffed and in the backs of two separate cars. More sirens wailed as screams came from the house, and officers came running out.
The car door opened, and Lio hauled me out. “Tell me what happened in a couple of sentences.”
I explained as Lio uncuffed me, and Gold spoke to Jinx. Lio nodded as an officer approached.
“The girl won’t come. I don’t want to scare her any further, but she’s traumatised beyond belief,” he announced.
“I’ll try, her name’s May,” I offered. Lio nodded. As we entered the house, May’s shrieks got louder. Quickly, I jogged upstairs and headed down the hallway. Two cops stood on the door, but nobody but May was inside.
“Hey,” I said, stepping into May’s line of sight. “Remember me? You gave me the knife to escape.”
May’s screams died a little, and she looked at the body on the floor.
“He’s dead, May. Come here, and I’ll take you outside,” I offered gently.
The words hadn’t finished leaving my mouth when May flew to her feet and raced down the bed and leapt off.
I staggered back as the traumatised teen wrapped her arms and legs around me. I grabbed hold of May to support her weight and began moving out of the room. May shoved her head in my neck as I carefully carried her down the stairs and outside.
“Fanatic? Is she okay?” Jinx asked as I walked down the path towards the ambulance. May’s head shot out of my neck, and before I realised it, she’d thrown herself into Jinx’s arms. Jinx froze for a moment before he held May tightly.
“Take May to the paramedics. If need be, accompany her to the hospital,” I ordered.
Jinx nodded. “Who do I give the recording to?”
Gold looked up, he was closeby but giving May space. “Recording?”
“I found Fanatic when Vampire poured water over him. I guessed we might need Vampire’s confession, and I also saw the gun. That’s why I didn’t interfere straight away, plus I’ve never shot anyone before. It was frightening,” Jinx admitted.
“Everyone should pause before taking a life, Jinx, ain’t no shame in that,” I said. My eyes raked the crowd, and I saw a bitter face taking everything in. “Give the recording to Gold or Lio.”
Anger rising, I stalked down the path to where Edna stood. She saw me coming and drew herself up.
“You’re alive then,” Edna sneered.
Full of fury, I got in Edna’s face as Gil muttered an ‘Oh shit’.
“I’m alive, you fucking cunt, no thanks to you. But that little girl, see her there. Clinging to Jinx like a fuckin’ limpet. She’s been locked up there, raped, sodomised, face raped, and all because you wished to be a poisonous cunt! Her abuse is on your head. Every time Vampire fucked that child raw is on you. Each blow and punch she took is on you!
“All because you’re an embittered bitch who hates everyone around because they see you for the nasty waste of space you are. Do everyone a favour and eat a damn bullet because the devil’s waiting for you. He’s got a special place there for kiddie fuckers and those who help them, and that’s you. Aiding and abetting a rapist because you didn’t like a biker living opposite you.
“Edna, I’m gonna destroy you. Take everything away from you. You’ll have nothing left by the time I’m done. Everyone will know that you kept hidden that somebody was staying in a house where there’d been a horrific murder. That you helped Vampire rape that poor fuckin’ teenager because you wanted to get someone kicked out of their home! And I’ll start by talking to that reporter,” I hissed and stormed towards a cameraman.
The man started filming Edna as she cried out.
“Seriously, I’ve never been more ashamed of you than today. You no longer exist, Edna,” a man stated.
“You’re my son, don’t call me Edna,” she hissed.
“Nah. I knew you were bitter, Edna, and made allowances, as did Clarrissa. Not anymore, Cila’s our mom,” the man said and turned his back. One by one, as I spoke to the cameraman, everyone watching turned their back on her.
Edna drew her shoulders up and began walking to her house. A woman turned to face her, and hope crossed Edna’s face, but the neighbour spat at Edna’a feet. The ambulance pulled out, sirens wailing, and I looked for Jinx. Not seeing him, I guessed he’d gone with May.
Poor fuckin’ kid.
I heard Hellfire arriving and spotted Chance shoving his way through everyone.
“Chance, I’m okay!” I shouted out as his eyes raked the crowd. They landed on me with relief.
“Jinx?”
“Hospital with the female victim we saved. Jinx’s fine, but the girl needed him after watching Vampire die,” I replied, approaching.
“Say that again?” Bear demanded.
“It was Vampire. Vampire did April, my meds, and was after me. He’d taken April’s baby sister hostage, and that’s why April lied,” I explained.
“Shit. The kid…?”
“May’s been heavily traumatised and abused, sexually as well as physically. Worse, I think Vampire was abusing April’s corpse in front of her,” I replied.
Chance paled. Yeah, as a father that had to kick home.
“Girl got parents?” Chance asked.
“No idea, Prez. You need to figure that out. I’m going to give my statement and head back to the clubhouse. We need to get everything left out of here and store it before it’s tarnished forever in Willow’s memory. Burn that bedroom furniture and all Willow’s clothes. Vampire was dressing April and May up in them to rape them,” I explained.
“Fuck me,” Sunny muttered.
“Can we get someone to Jinx? Kid’s out of his depth,” I said.
“Diesel, Chatter, go,” Chance said, and they disappeared. “You need anything?”
“I’m fine, Prez. Just need my woman to relax. We gotta find Willow’s stalker, and we’re done and dusted. Apache’s breaking ground next week on our home. Life’s good.” “You need anything, shout,” Chance replied.
“Will do.”
Slowly, I walked back to Lio and Gold, who were in charge. I just wanted to go home.
