The Black Onyx Coven: An ancient coven founded shortly after Kylan turned Valentina and vampirism began spreading worldwide. They kidnapped Rachel shortly after birth and raised her within their ranks. Their goal was to study the dhampirs’ biology, strengths, and weaknesses to gain information on how best to kill them.

The Lemurian Quartz Coven: This is the sister coven of the Black Onyx Coven, which is based in Europe. Over the years, it has also taken part in the slaughter of dhampirs.

The Burning of Angels’ Key, also known as the Fire Key: An antique bronze key imbued with the power of the Fire element.

Five-Point Order: The supernatural government established ten years after the Battle of the Devil’s Uprising. They maintained law and order between all the species after the knowledge that vampires, witches, and werewolves existed became public. In the United States, each state has a division leader, and the central branches are based in Salem, Massachusetts.

The Witch of One: An entity of unknown origins. She has been called Hecate Incarnate, Daughter of Ceridwen, or Goddess of all Magics. The Witch of One is the creator of the Amavasya’s Tear, a powerful stone stolen by the Daughters of Dusk.

Daughters of Dusk: A former coven of female witches turned into vampires against their will. They continued to practice different forms of magic using rituals, potions, and enchanted stones.

Ezrylos (Eh-zuh-rye-los): An Upper World angel. Guardian of the Summoning Circle.

The Academy: Founded by Darius Cruca in 1818 along with the Daughters of Dusk, it was a school for the Daughters’ dhampir children to learn how to use their powers and blend into human society.

The Sanctum Order: An elite hunting group based in Boston, Massachusetts. They answer to the Five-Point Order’s primary leadership. It is a team comprised of two military-trained humans, a former coven leader, a vampire mercenary, and an Alpha werewolf. This ensures no bias exists when searching for criminals in the supernatural and human societies. They apprehend anyone who violates the Four-Fold Accord, and either bring them in for questioning, or execute the offender on sight.

Four-Fold Accord: A treaty created to keep the peace between humans and supernatural creatures. Violators of the treaty result in execution or imprisonment ordered by the Five-Point Order and enforced by Sanctum.

Kylan (mentioned): He was a Nephalem, a creature born from a demon and angel. A curse prevented him from ever taking a human life, but his possession powers allowed him to turn one person who would go on to spread the vampire species… Valentina Vasile.
