31. Ivy

The lights flashed on and blinded me. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the brightness.

Right there in front of me, where just a moment ago there had been nothing, Kren stood with one arm over his eyes to protect himself from the glaring light.

A fraction of a second later, the guards noticed him too. They didn’t hesitate to grab their shock rifles.

“Kren!” I screamed, struggling in the Supervisor’s arms. “Look out!”

Too late.
