Chapter Seven

Cassius

So, it seems big brother has a secret. He has a human he’s attached to. It's not that it hasn't happened before—it's just reckless. Besides, why have one, when you can have them all?

So, I wait. I follow her. She works at a local hospital. It surprises me that Adonis doesn't have protection in place for her. Better for me, I suppose. She’s coming out of work. It’s dark out, and she’s parked in the employee lot. Taking her is easier than taking candy from a baby. She doesn't even see me coming. I come up from behind her, slapping my hand over her mouth while my other arm helps me snatch her by the waist. She tries to fight, but there’s no point. She can't match my strength.

Eventually, she passes out. I throw her in the back seat of her own car and then take her keys and drive to the home I’m squatting in. After getting her inside, I tie her up by her hands and hang her from the rafters just as she’s coming to. She starts screaming for help. I look at her and scream as loud as she is to show her it’s no use. I watch the defeat starting to sink in on her face.

Tears stream down her face. I wipe them and lick my finger, and she spits at me, but it only makes me laugh in her face.

“Who are you? What do you want?”

“Well, I'm a vampire,” I start.

“No shit,” she says with a sneer.

I grab her face in my hand, squeezing her cheeks hard, and say, “You will watch your tone with me, understand?”

She nods, the pain evident on her face.

“Good. Now where was I? Oh, yes. My name is Cassius. You seem to know my older brother Adonis.”

Her face turns pale. Ah. She's heard of me. Good. She needs to be scared. “So, tell me how long you've been fucking him.”

“Fuck you,” she says.

The slap reverberates through the room. I had already warned her. Her lip is swollen and bleeding now. I lick the blood, and my fangs burst through. Now I know why Adonis wants her. Her blood is unlike anything I've had. Without hesitation, I take the side of her neck and bite her while that rich blood coats my tongue. Her screams mean nothing to me. I hope I’m hurting her. The bitch doesn't listen. She needs to learn.

Adonis

I’m sitting at the pub, waiting for Nila. She’s late, but that could mean anything. Sometimes she gets stuck at the hospital. Usually, she shoots a text, but there have been a few occasions that she hasn’t. She is very dedicated to her job.

I send her a text and wait. My phone rings, but it isn’t her. “Hello?”

“Adonis.”

I knew that voice.

“Cassius.”

“Good to hear your voice, brother,” Cassius says casually.

“Cassius, what do you want?”

“I'm hurt, brother. Why do you think I want anything?”

“Why are you in Salem?” I’m getting irritated.

“Well, brother. It seems I have something that belongs to you.”

My heart stops. I look at my phone screen to see if Nila has texted back. She hasn't. “Cassius, what have you done?”

“Better question, Adonis. Why are you playing with your food?” Then, a scream in the background lets me know my worst fears are true.

“Cassius you have to let her go,” I grit, my fangs popping out.

“Why would I do that? We were just starting to have fun.” Nila screams in the background again.

“Cassius. Please. Let her go.”

“No. I like how she sounds when I torture her. When I get bored of her, I will leave her body on your doorstep.”

“Cassius, you can't kill her.”

“Yes, I can,” Cassius says gleefully.

“She is my twin flame.” I need him to know. If he kills her, he will kill my soul, and I will wither and die.

“That’s nothing more than an urban legend.”

“I thought that, too. Until I met her. She’s my twin flame. If you kill her, you will be killing me. Do you really hate me that much?” Here I am, trying to reason with a psychopath.

“I don't hate you, brother. I needed you when you left me. You moved here and left me behind.” He sounds like a wounded child.

“Cassius, I'm sorry. I truly am. We were on different paths. You are here now. You can stay with me if you want to.”

“You’re just saying that because of her.”

“No. Well yes, she is part of it, but I didn't realize you wanted to be around me. Please, let her go.”

“Adonis, does she know about your destiny?”

“Yes. I explained it to her,” I say cautiously.

“So, you've explained your lifestyle? Does she know your dietary needs?”

“Cassius, please. Don't. Just let her go.”

“So she doesn't know! Guess you aren't as close as you thought.”

With that, he hangs up the phone. Dammit, what the fuck am I going to do?

Cassius

I need to play this out. I don't want to kill my brother. But I am hurt that he abandoned me. So, I will play with his pet. She needs to see what the real world is like. I cut her clothes off, leaving her standing in front of me—nude. She has disdain for me written all over her face.

I trace down the center of her chest with my finger. Her nipples bead up. I bend down, taking one in my mouth. She starts kicking, trying to push me off. My fangs extend, and I bite into her breast. Her fight becomes frenzied. I pull my mouth up, letting her blood drip down my mouth. “If you don't stop, I will tear your breasts off, chunk by chunk. Your choice.” I glare at her. “Now calm down, and maybe you will enjoy this.”

I could tell she wants to say something, but her face is bruised from the last thing she said out of turn. I suck her nipple harder, drawing the blood out, taking my hand and squeezing the other breast painfully. I can see her biting her lip, trying not to make sounds of pain.

Doesn’t matter to me, I’m getting off on her pain. I let my finger trail to her pussy. I dip it inside of her, and she starts to silently cry. In and out, my finger goes faster and faster while it brushes against her clit. Her body betrays her and she climaxes. She’s fully sobbing at this point. I pull my finger out and stick it in my mouth, sucking her juices off.

I’ll be fucking her ass before the night is over. Adonis will get her back. She’ll be broken, but he’ll have his twin flame. First, I'm going to find a victim to bring home so she can see the family business. I’ll put on quite the show for her.

Nila

I need to hold on. I know Adonis will find me. No matter how Cassius humiliates me, he will never be able to break my spirit. Adonis will be here soon. I feel it.
