Chapter Eight
Cade
I couldn’t remember ever sleeping as well as I did after finally claiming the girl of my dreams. Holding her, her perfect body pressed up against mine all night. The smell of her hair in my nose. It was perfect, and I wanted to fall asleep and wake up next to her every day for the rest of our natural lives.
Slow down, cowboy. We still have a lot to talk about.
Even knowing that didn’t quell the aching need in my heart. I already knew I would do everything in my power to keep her. The rest was just a simple negotiation on what she needed that to look like.
I could feel her slowly beginning to wake up, starting with her breathing changing. She sighed contentedly.
“Good morning, baby,” I growled in her ear.
“Good morning, Da-uh…” She cleared her throat. “S’cuse me, sorry. Good morning. How did you sleep?”
I smiled at her groggy mumbles and kissed the side of her head. “Better than ever. How about you?”
“Still sleepy.” She wiggled her body as she tried to press closer to me.
“You can rest more if you want to. I’m fine holding you, and we’re not on anyone else’s schedule.”
She gasped. “What time is it?”
“Almost eight.”
She jumped out of bed like someone had set it on fire. “Shit! I promised my new friends I’d meet them for breakfast at eight!”
“Can you call and tell them plans have changed? We have things to discuss.” I did not like this change in my morning plans. Not one bit.
“I could, but… I’d really like to meet up with them. They’re pretty great, and it feels really good to make real friends again. It's been a long time. Please can we just push our talk off for a few hours?”
She stood naked at the edge of the bed nibbling her lip and wringing her fingers in front of her like a naughty little girl, and when she batted those beautiful bright eyes at me, I found it impossible to tell her no.
Fuck, you better get that shit under control or she’s going to run you ragged.
I also knew the life we lived could be a lonely one, and having women with so many similar interests that she could talk to would mean a lot to her. As much as I wanted to be the only thing she ever needed, I was not that clueless. Women needed other women as friends, and I was not going to stand in the way of having her needs met.
“Fine. But come lunchtime, your ass is in this room with me. We can order in and talk about everything. Deal?”
She squealed happily and jumped on top of me, peppering my face with kisses. “Thank you, thank you! Yes, it’s a deal.”
Then just like that, she was running out of the room and away from me.
A-fucking-gain.
At least this time she was wearing my handprints on her beautiful ass, and I knew when she would be coming back. I sighed heavily and flipped the covers back. I couldn’t lay there and think about her or I would lose my mind. I needed to take Onyx out for a long ride, anyway. That should keep me busy enough. Maybe.
Ripley
I got dressed and ready and made it downstairs only two minutes late. Wren and Reese were actually waking up at the exact same time as me, so I didn’t have to feel guilty that they’d been waiting.
“Morning!” Reese smiled and waved.
Wren, on the other hand, was regarding me with a questioning look on her face.
“Morning?” It came out like more of a question than a statement. “Everything okay?”
“You look different.” Wren narrowed her eyes, like staring at me could give her the answers she was looking for.
“I feel different,” I responded honestly.
How could I not? Cade and I had made a major relationship shift. I knew there were a lot of things to discuss, but I was continuously shoving that to the back of my mind so I could just enjoy the cloud I was floating on.
“I knew it!” Wren clapped her hands together loudly. “What happened? Tell us everything!”
Reese looked back and forth between us like we were speaking a different language. “I feel like I’m missing something.”
“You’re still learning the ways of the Ranch, but this glow around Ripley… it’s the Ranch Magic glow.” She cupped her hand next to her mouth and mock whispered, “Also means she got some last night.”
“Ooooo!” Reese’s eyes widened in excitement. “Yes, tell us everything!”
I felt embarrassment heat my cheeks. “Can we maybe go inside and find a more private spot to talk?”
Both girls burst out laughing.
“It’s way more private out here than anywhere in there, but we can try.” Wren pulled the door open and her point was instantly made.
The Ranch cafeteria was a bona fide school cafeteria. There was a small section that held only adult-looking individuals, and there were some couples scattered throughout, but mostly it looked like any other normal school cafeteria. There were groups of people sitting together chatting loudly with trays of food in front of them. There was a beverage area, and a line of people making their meal choices in front of a long countertop that kind of looked like a buffet, except there were people behind it serving food.
“Wow.” I couldn’t really think of what else to say.
“We told you it was a little overwhelming. You kinda get used to it, but there are lots of other places to eat. If this is too much we can go to the Café,” Reese assured me.
It definitely was a lot, but I was used to busy, crowded areas. And I wanted to be there. I wanted to experience it, and I really wanted to watch some of the other Littles in action.
“No, no, I’m good! It’s just a little bit of culture shock, I think. I’ve never seen this many lifestylers all together in one place.”
“Pretty cool, right? I think it’s easy to forget what the outside world is like once you’ve been here a while. It's easy to take for granted.” Wren linked her arm to mine and led me to the back of the food line. “The one thing about this cafeteria is that the food is actually really yummy. Chef Connor and his staff are amazing. Everything is made from scratch, and as much of it as possible is locally sourced. You can actually taste the freshness. Even the pancakes taste fresh. I don’t really know how they do it, but I don’t complain, either.” She handed us each a tray and we set them down on the line.
The breakfast spread was nothing short of spectacular, with all of my favorite options available. I took a tiny helping of each thing because I wanted to try it all the first time through.
Once our plates were full, we found a small round table off to the side that had not been taken yet and sat down. Reese went and got us each an ice-cold glass of chocolate milk, explaining something about cocoa beans being healthy, and some other stuff I was not concerned with at that moment.
The food melted in my mouth. It was hands down the best breakfast I’d had in my entire life.
“You weren’t lying when you said the food was good,” I said between a bite of pancakes and a perfectly crumbly strip of bacon.
“We may be a little spoiled.” Wren winked.
“In more ways than one.” Reese danced in her seat as she held her cup of milk with two hands.
I discreetly observed both my new friends while I ate, as well as the surrounding tables. Just as the girls had told me the day before, there were Littles of all ages and genders milling about. Some were dressed in school uniforms, some in clothes sporting familiar characters, and some in just very juvenile styles. There were a few with pacifiers pinned to their shirts, and I thought I spied a diaper below a very short dress. It was a fascinating mix of folks and they all seemed to just ‘be’.
My chest tightened. I wanted to just ‘be’ too.
“So tell us about your night!” Wren tapped the table excitedly.
My body flushed with excitement at the memory of my night with Cade.
“Ohh, it musta been really good. Spill it, sister!” Wren pulled my tray a few inches away from me, seemingly to stop me from taking another bite.
“Well,” I sighed. “First we got into a fight. Or rather… I got into a fight?” I said, trying to convey the series of events correctly. “I was happy when I left you guys, but as I thought about things on my walk back, I just got… really frustrated, and when he tried to talk to me I kinda bit his head off. Then he spanked me. Like… for a really long time, but only with his hand. Then as things sometimes do… one thing led to another, and we woke up in the same bed this morning.” I shrugged.
They didn’t need to know all the details. Like how he had made me practically beg to come, or that his cock stretching me had sent me headfirst into a second orgasm, or… I really needed to stop thinking about all of that or I was going to bail on my friends sooner than I'd planned just to hope we could do it all again.
“So, you’re like an item now? No more dancing around each other?” Reese asked.
“I think so? We’re supposed to talk about things over lunch.”
“Are you going to tell him you’re a Little?” Wren asked coyly.
I let my head fall backward and groaned. If Cade and I were going to have a go at things, I really shouldn’t hold back my deepest desires from him.
“But what if me wanting to be a Little changes things for him? What if he’s not into that?” I asked without making eye contact with them.
“He doesn’t have to be into everything you’re into or vice versa. That’s why you discuss things and set limits. If he doesn’t want to interact with your Little side, then you can come to places like the Ranch to get those needs met. You can negotiate with him about all of that, but you have to tell him.”
“But I haven’t really experienced being a Little outside of a few dates with Randy.” I was making excuses and I knew it. Everything about the lifestyle called to me. I also wasn’t lying. Before the Ranch I’d never met another Little. I’d never done anything these two got to do on a normal basis.
Wren sighed and shook her head. “You’re in the perfect setting to try! There are so many things you can try and experience here without any pressure or judgement. It’s like the safest place on earth to live out your fantasies.”
“I thought I knew that coming into this vacation, but I had no idea what I was really getting myself into, obviously. If someone told me a few days ago I was going to have sex with Cade I would have laughed in their faces.”
Wren and Reese shared a look and then looked back at me. “Ranch Magic,” they said in unison.
“Gotta say, the longer I’m here, the more I believe it.” I sighed.
“It’s only going to get worse. You’ve been here what, twenty-four hours?” Reese asked.
“Like thirty-six.” I shrugged.
“You’re so in for it.” She giggled.
“And if part of your hangup about telling Cade about your Little side is that you don’t have enough experience, we can help. You’re not going back to your suite until lunch, right? That gives us a few hours to show you the ropes. Travis and Arlo are holding down the fort with the animals so that we could both have the morning off.”
I pulled my tray back in front of me and picked up a piece of sausage. Taking a bite, I chewed slowly as I considered the offer.
It would be stupid to say no.
But what if I don’t like it?
Then I tell them.
Rawhide is a safe space.
I might never get this opportunity again.
“Okay, I’ll do it,” I blurted before my brain took a negative turn and I could talk myself out of it.
“Yes!” Wren pumped her fist in the air. “We better hurry then, or we’re going to be late.”
“Late for what?” I asked in complete confusion.
“Morning recess.” Reese smiled.
