Chapter 8

Natasa

I don’t think I’ve slept that good in a long time. In fact, I don’t even know how long I’ve been asleep. I pry my eyes open and look around, but Gunner isn’t here. The bed next to me is empty. I sigh as I sit up, testing my strength before standing and stretching.

The room smells like him. It smells like Gunner. I small smile tugs across my face as I walk over to the mirror and look at myself. He’s right. I look terrible, but I haven’t been able to keep anything down until the doctor gave me medicine.

I turn my head and look at the clock seeing it’s three in the morning. I should go back to sleep but I figure this is the best time for me to explore a little. No one should be awake at this time.

I pad across the floor and out the door, heading down the hallway into the main room. There are a few lights on, but I don’t see anyone out here. I look around at the large logo painted on the wall and smile. He’s right. This is his family.

“You feelin’ better?” I hear a deep voice from behind me. I startle and turn to see Hodge walking down the hall with no shirt on, his jeans hanging loosely off his waist. He looks as good as his dad does.

“Yeah, thank you.”

“If you’re lookin’ for Gunner, his room is right across the hall from yours.”

“It is?” I ask, a little confused. He kept me that close to him?

“You think he’d let you get that far from him?”

“Why wouldn’t he?”

“In case you haven’t noticed, he’s gettin’ a little protective over you.”

I shake my head. I don’t see that side of him. I just see him wanting to help me get better.

“I don’t think that’s what he’s doing.”

“You don’t?”

“No.”

“Then you’re wrong,” I hear Gunner’s voice, and it sends a chill down my spine. Hodge smirks as I turn to face Gunner. Standing much like his son, with no shirt and jeans hanging around his waist, he looks like a fucking God. I can’t stop myself from taking him in. He’s gorgeous.

“What do you mean?”

“Just what Hodge said. I’m feelin’ a little overprotective right now. In fact, I don’t like you’re standin’ out here with my son half-dressed,” he tells me. My cheeks heat as I turn my head to glance at Hodge and then back to Gunner.

“I … I was just walking around.” Now, he stalks toward me slowly, his hands hanging by his sides.

“Lookin’ for somethin’?”

“Just looking around.”

“Did you find what you were lookin’ for?” he asks when he’s standing directly in front of me. Hodge barks out a laugh, but I can’t pull my eyes away from Gunner. He’s fucking magnetic.

“I don’t know what I was looking for.” Gunner nods his head before lifting his hand and running his fingers along my cheek. My insides clench at his touch when Hodge whistles and walks away. I don’t know where he went. Gunner’s deep brown eyes trap me.

“I’m across the hall, darlin’.”

“I know.”

“Then what the hell has taken you so long to come over there?”

“I didn’t know if you wanted me to.”

“How much more obvious do I need to be?” He steps even closer and I can feel the heat radiate off him. It slams into me like an inferno.

“Apparently, I’m not that observant.” Gunner chuckles, and damn does it do something to my insides.

“You need to rest. Come on.” He grabs my hand in his and leads me back down the hall toward my room when I stop. I glance over at his door and he sighs.

“You’re always welcome in my room, Nat.”

“Can I just … just for tonight?” I don’t want to be alone, although I feel safe here. It’s strange, though. This isn’t what I’m used to. Gunner nods his head and tugs me along with him across the hall. He opens the door, and we step in before he closes it behind us. Then he’s resting his hand on the small of my back and leading me to the bed.

“Get in.”

“Which side is yours?”

“Doesn’t matter. Lay down,” he orders me. I nod my head and climb in, snuggling under his blankets. The scent of him fills my nose. I can’t think straight with Gunner this close to me. My body reacts to him in a way it never has before, but I know there’s nothing between us. I slowly close my eyes and let myself drift off to dreams of him touching me. His hands all over my body. He’s there. He’s everywhere.

I buck my hips as his tongue toys with my clit. It feels … so good. So fucking real. A finger slips inside me and slowly works its way in and out. I gasp, sucking in air, as he takes me higher. I open my eyes, and the feelings are still there. I look down to find Gunner’s head between my thighs. His eyes flick up to meet mine and I can see the intensity in them. He watches me as I watch him. My mouth opens, and my lips part as I ride his face. Inch by inch, I get closer to coming. He nods his head, knowing what’s about to happen, as he tugs at my clit with his teeth. My hands clench the sheets next to me as I let go. I fall apart for him, coming all over his face.

Gunner keeps his eyes on me, watching everything I’m doing as he takes all of me. When he’s had enough, he climbs up my body and runs his tongue along my neck.

“That’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted,” he tells me, nipping at my earlobe.

“I’ve never felt anything like that.”

“You like it?”

“More than liked it.”

“Good girl. I’m gonna keep doin’ it then.” Before I know what he means, he’s sliding back down my body and back between my legs. His lips are there, his tongue.

And he starts over. Fucking me with his mouth until I can’t see straight.
