Chapter 26

CHAPTER 26

HARRISON

“ W hat the fuck’s taking so long?” I grumbled as I paced outside the boardroom.

Ever since Aaron left, I’d hardly been able to breathe. I was about to text him again but interrupting right now wasn’t a smart idea.

“It’s only been a half hour,” Patrick reminded me.

A half hour that felt longer than anything in my life.

Until the boardroom door suddenly burst open and Winston stalked out first, his usual grimace in place. He headed for the elevator like a bat out of hell, and didn’t even notice me or Patrick standing nearby. That didn’t tell me much of anything. What had happened?

One by one, the rest of the board filed out, but they said nothing to each other, and didn’t acknowledge my or Patrick’s presence. Everyone left so silently it was eerie.

I stepped into the boardroom to find Aaron sitting at the head of the table, staring out the window.

“What happened?” I asked.

Aaron jolted and swiveled around. He swiped at his hair, sweat dotting his face. Shit.

“Baby?”

“He resigned,” Aaron whispered. “It’s done.”

“Thank fuck,” I finally exhaled and walked over to him.

Aaron was visibly shaking as I took hold of his hand. He stood up and lunged at me, clutching me so tight I was out of breath.

“Aaron, I’m so sorry you had to go through that.” I kissed his neck, but he didn’t respond. “Baby, are you okay?”

“No. No, I’m not,” he whispered. “I want to go home. But first, I need to speak to the management team.”

“Sit back down. I’ll get Patrick.”

I didn’t have to. Patrick knocked and entered the room a second later, with a concerned expression on his face.

“Winston resigned,” I offered when Aaron remained silent. “Can you get the management call organized as well as media relations? Once that’s done, I’m taking Aaron home.”

“I’m on it.” Patrick nodded and began tapping his tablet.

“I can’t believe I did that,” Aaron whispered.

“Everything’s going to be okay,” I offered and sat down beside him.

Aaron nodded, his face pale and his hands still shaking. “I just need a minute.”

When he was ready, he got on a call to deliver the news to the rest of management and his media relations team. Afterwards, I steered Aaron out of the office and back into my car. He didn’t talk and the closer we got to home, the more I worried. I couldn’t imagine confronting my father like that, never mind dealing with the rest of his family.

I parked the car, undid my seat belt, and turned to Aaron, but he sat there, unmoving.

“Aaron, are you alright?” I asked and when he didn’t even blink, I started to tremble. “Baby, please say something.”

“What’s there to say?” he finally whispered, his voice hoarse. “I kicked my father out of the company. I don’t want to think, let alone speak.”

“You did the right thing. He was harassing you without cause. And, if our suspicions are correct?—”

“He’s still my father!” Aaron yelled and then covered his face with his hands.

I got out of the car, walked around to the passenger side, and opened the door. Crouching down, I gently removed his seatbelt and then stood back and offered my hand.

“Just leave me alone, Harry!” Aaron snapped, ignoring my hand. He got out of the car and slammed the door. “I don’t want you here. Go home.”

“I am home,” I bit out, stepping forward and reaching for him. “And don’t try to pick a fight right now. It’s not going to work. We’re past that.”

Aaron stared at me for a moment, his big, beautiful brown eyes welling up. He was trying so hard to hold on to his control, to keep it all in. My reaction to his pain was visceral, my heart aching hard, like nothing I’d ever experienced before.

“Baby, it’s okay to feel bad,” I offered as I pulled him into my arms. “You need to feel it. And talk about it. Let it out.”

“I’m so fucking scared,” he admitted as he clutched me back and burrowed his face in my neck. “What if I’ve made a horrible mistake? Or, what if it’s true and he really did steal from the company? I always knew he was driven and ruthless, but this? I didn’t expect this.”

I cupped his head and kissed his cheek, trying to reassure him the only way I could.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I do know that you did the right thing. It hurts and it’s going to take a while for you to deal with it, but in the long run, you’ll be okay.”

“But the company. I’ve opened us up to more scrutiny. Just when things were starting to turn around, I?—”

“Being transparent is the best thing, for you and the company. There’ll be tough times ahead, but I’ve no doubt you can handle it. You’re doing amazing,” I paused and squeezed him tighter. “You are amazing.”

He was still shaking hard but after a few minutes in my arms, he calmed.

“I’m sorry I yelled at you,” Aaron whispered as he leaned back and stared at me.

“You were venting,” I replied as I cupped his face. “If you need to yell at me, yell. The only thing I don’t want you to do is shut me out. Promise me?”

“Okay,” Aaron nodded and bit his lower lip. “I think I need to lie down for a bit.”

I wrapped one arm around his waist and guided him up the front steps. Yvonne opened the door and when we stepped inside, Endor and Chewie came barreling into the foyer, going straight to Aaron. They knew instinctively that he needed comfort.

“Is everything okay?” Yvonne asked as she glanced at Aaron. His face was getting paler by the second. “Would you like me to fix you something to eat?”

“Soup and a sandwich would be great, Yvonne, but maybe in an hour?” I offered. “We’ll be upstairs. Aaron needs to lie down for a while.”

“Of course,” she replied quickly. “Call down when you’re ready and I’ll bring it up.”

“Thanks.” I nodded and then I steered Aaron towards the stairs.

“I’m fine,” he sighed. “I can manage on my?—”

I kissed him silent. This stubborn, sexy man of mine.

“You’re my husband. Let me take care of you,” I whispered.

A small smile finally tugged at the corners of Aaron’s mouth. “I never thought I’d hear you say that.”

“You and me both,” I confessed and kissed him again softly. “I guess the joke’s on us.”

“This is no joke, Harry.”

The way my heart was pounding, I knew Aaron was right. There were things I wanted to say, but now was not the time.

When we reached our bedroom, Aaron paused.

“You okay?” I asked, concerned.

“Lie down with me?”

Like he needed to ask. I led him over to the bed and once we both stripped down, and got under the covers, I slid in behind and spooned him tight.

“Rest now,” I urged as I wrapped my arm around his waist and kissed his neck.

Slowly, I felt Aaron’s body relax, until his breathing evened out. Once I was sure he’d drifted off to sleep, I closed my eyes and joined him.

When I opened my eyes again, the bedroom was dark. Aaron was still in my arms. Trying to move as slowly as I could, I gently rolled over and glanced at the nightstand, looking for my phone. I tapped on the screen and there were tons of messages, from work contacts, from my family, and friends. Not that I was surprised given the news of Winston’s resignation. Still, all that could wait until later.

“Harry.”

I turned on the lamp and glanced over to find Aaron lying on his back, his hair mussed, his eyes full of wariness. As always, the intensity of his stare had my heart beating triple time.

“Did I wake you?” I asked, trying to speak over the sudden lump in my throat.

He shook his head and licked his lips. “Not intentionally.”

Without hesitation, I slid over his body and cupped his face.

“Are you okay?” I whispered, kissing him gently.

“Don’t kiss me like that.”

“What?”

“I don’t want gentle right now. Kiss me like you mean it. Kiss me like you want to.”

“But Aaron, I?—”

“I know what I need,” Aaron replied, his hands sliding down my back to cup my ass. “You, Harry. I need you. I?—”

He paused and stared up at me, the wariness replaced with a look of awe I’d never seen before.

“I love you,” he confessed.

“I know.”

Aaron’s sudden laughter filled the room, and my heart just about burst wide open as I stared at his gorgeous smile. This time, I kissed him soundly, mauling his lips and teasing his tongue until he kissed me right back, moaning for more. Wrapping his legs around my hips, our naked cocks brushed against each other.

“I love you, too, baby,” I whispered.

“Then hurry up and show me.”

“The boss is back,” I teased and nipped his lower lip.

“The boss needs you to fuck him into oblivion.”

“What about my husband?” I quipped.

“He’s a greedy bastard too.”

“Not greedy, and not a bastard,” I murmured as I trailed my lips down his neck. “Now hush and let me do my job.”

Aaron’s answering groan made me shiver. I licked a path over his collarbone and down further, over his left pec, until I reached his nipple. After gently biting it, I swirled my tongue and sucked hard. He nearly came off the bed, but I pushed him back down. Then I reached under one of the pillows and pulled out a tube of lube.

“Harry, please.”

“Let go.”

“But I want to touch you.”

“Later,” I whispered against his skin. “Right now, it’s all about you.”

Aaron finally relaxed and let me take care of him. I explored every inch of his heated skin with my mouth, discovering all the places that drove him wild. It was unlike any other time we’d come together, still passionate, but more intense. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d fall for Aaron and that he’d fall for me.

I licked a path down his abs, and reached for his legs, unwrapping them from my waist and pushing his knees against his chest.

“Hold on tight.”

Without pause, I spread his ass cheeks and licked a path from his hole to his balls and back again.

“Oh God, Harry,” he moaned.

Pushing my face into his ass, I ate him out, licking and sucking, then fucking him with my tongue. Aaron’s groans grew louder, and soon he was humping my face with abandon. I paused once, and slicked my hand with lube, teasing him with one finger, then two, stretching him.

“Don’t need that,” he panted.

I shook my head and continued to fuck him with my fingers, making sure he’d be good and ready to take my cock.

“I know what you need,” I replied and crooked my fingers, teasing his prostate.

Aaron cried out; his face flushed with a look of pure pleasure.

“You,” Aaron whispered. “Harry, I need you.”

Adding more lube to my hand, I kneeled in front of Aaron, slicked up my cock and notched the head to his hole. I slid in slowly, one torturous inch at a time, until my balls hit his ass.

“So damn good,” Aaron cried out as his head fell back, his body taut and glistening with sweat. “Every time.”

“We’re so fucking good together,” I choked out, my voice hoarse with desire.

I gave one experimental thrust and when Aaron keened, I kept going, faster, harder, both of us caught up in each other. Biting my lower lip, I tried to go slower, but my body—and Aaron’s—had other plans. I leaned down and cupped his face, taking his lips in a possessive kiss.

“Baby,” I moaned against his lips.

“Please.”

Aaron needed oblivion so I rutted into him in a fierce rhythm, the bed shaking, the headboard banging the wall. I slipped one hand down to grip Aaron’s dick and with two more strokes, he came hard. I quickly followed him over the edge, crying out his name and filling him up with my cum. When I collapsed on top of him, Aaron wrapped me up tight.

“Stay,” Aaron insisted.

“Well, you are my husband,” I teased him with another languid kiss. “Was that an order?”

“Is that a question?”

“Not anymore.”
