Dante is British-Italian. Irina and Aleksei are British-Russian. All characters will speak a few words of their native language here and there, especially for endearments and insults.
I have limited the use of languages besides English to allow for easier reading experience.
ITALIAN
Bella - beautiful
Benvenuto - Welcome
Carina - my dear, darling
Cazzo - literally, shit. Used as an insult.
Cugino - cousin
Cuore mio - my heart
Fratello - Brother
Lealtà, dovere, coraggio - Loyalty, duty, courage. The Ventura Family motto
Scioccio - a fool, someone who is silly
Sorellina - little sister
Sposa mia - my bride, my wife
Tesoro - my treasure, my heart
Vipera - viper, snake
RUSSIAN
Blyat - Mostly used for “shit”, “fuck” as an exclamation of displeasure
Dorogoy - my dear
Malysh - Darling, used for a man
Malyshka - Darling, used for a woman
Moy syn - (my) son
Kozyol - insult to a man’s intelligence. Literally “goat”
Otets - Father (very formal, almost deferential)
Pakhan - The number 1 of the Bratva, the Russian mafia
Pelmeni - a traditional Russian dumpling filled with minced meat
Solnychko - little sun, endearment.
