HIDDEN ALPHA

HIDDEN ALPHA

By ShadowLynx

~prologue~

When your parents decide to have 2 kids, you already know what to expect.

Same with me.

After Samuel came along, who was 16 when I started caring and I'm a year older... the work changed.

He was also a beta, but... we were seen differently.

Samuel was the kind of beta that people respected.

Strong, confident, always first in sports or speaking in front of the class. Teachers said he had "presence". That if he had been born an alpha, he would have been one of the best.

Me?

I was... just a beta.

Not the strong one.

Not the one who attracted attention.

Not the one people said would do great things.

Compared to him, I always seemed like the weaker version.

And maybe it wouldn't have bothered me so much if this difference had only been in people's eyes.

But sometimes… I had the feeling that our parents saw things the same way.

They never said it directly.

But you could feel it.

In the way they praised him a little more often.

In the way they just expected me to…

be normal.

A regular beta.

But the problem was…

the older I got, the more I felt like I wasn't nearly as important as him.

Now, at 19, I can say that I was right.

Little arguments every day with my father, Fenric, until they reached the point where I could already feel his contempt.

However, nothing prepared me for the moment when he decided that my place was at Alpha Academy.

Because apparently…

life had other plans for me.

Maybe they planned for me to become better for this family.

But I don't know what else to believe.
