Chapter 37

“Why haven’t they responded?” Nathan King bellowed, pacing around his hotel room in the Lativa capital. He’d brought along two of his personal aides, pretending that this was a diplomatic visit and not a way for him to retrieve Tasha. As soon as he had her in his house, he was going to…? He thought about all the different ways he would have her. Against the wall, on her knees, on his desk…the possibilities were endless. He would punish her for threatening his future. That bitch shouldn’t have messed with him. He’d order her to produce the videos, then he’d destroy them.

And then, he would destroy her.

If she was here in Lativa, he would toss her into his private plane, the plane that everyone thought was owned by a corporation, and then fly off with her. He wouldn’t mind smacking her pretty face for putting him through such lengths to find her.

Although, Nathan had to give Tasha credit. If Evan hadn’t gotten that picture of her a few weeks ago, this would have been the last place Nathan would have looked for her. In the employment of a foreign government…hmmm…how could he spin this for his benefit? Perhaps there was another way to destroy Tasha’s reputation. That would mean he wouldn’t have to marry the bitch.

Well, maybe not. She still had that beating that could hurt him. Tasha could always testify that he’d hit her, plus there were those hospital pictures to back up her story.

However, there were ways to get around that kind of accusation. Unfortunately, the stink would stick to him for a bit. And having a former employee, even one that he claimed to be engaged to, make an accusation of violence against him, would be bad and he knew it. Nathan was sure that his opponent would use even the hint of an accusation against him.

Nathan was confident that he would still win the election, but he might be thrown off some of the more lucrative committee assignments.

So, the slow, romantic approach was better. Until he got her in his house and behind closed doors, that is. Once he had that bitch alone, he’d show her who was in charge!
