12. Chapter Ten
CHAPTER TEN
BETSY
W hat room could he possibly be talking about? Her office? But he had mentioned her working in his office with him. So what could it be?
“Your Little room.”
She stared at him in shock. Her Little room? Was he really going to give her a Little room? Betsy had always wanted one but didn’t have the space for it. Her office was in her bedroom because her apartment was so small.
“What?”
“I’ve had a Little room set up for a while, waiting for a Little to come live with me and here you are.”
“Uhh.”
Betsy was shocked. She wasn’t expecting him to give her something like this. Was she expecting him to keep her in a room and not leave? Yes, she was but she probably shouldn’t have. He had explained several times that she would be able to live normally with him.
“Can I have a couple of seconds? I can meet you there?” she asked.
“Take your time,” he kissed her forehead. “It’s two rooms down the hallway.”
She watched as he walked out of the room. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes for a couple of seconds. She needed to get a grip on everything.
Why did it make her heart flutter knowing he had this room ready and thought about her? Why did it make her stomach flip when he said he was going to take care of her? Why did her breath get taken away when he said she wouldn’t be able to leave him? Why did she get turned on when he got all possessive?
Betsy knew the answers probably lied with being attracted to him. She couldn’t help it. He was a Daddy Dom, possessive, caring, and wanted what was best for her.
Could she do this?
Sighing once again, she opened her eyes and looked at her bookbag. Should she look at the note now or should she wait until she had more time alone? Would she ever get that?
Betsy opened her bookbag and pulled out her laptop. She briefly glanced over at the door, making sure Daddy wasn’t looming in. She pulled open her computer and with shaky hands, picked up the note and opened it. Her breath got caught in her throat as she read the words.
We know what you did. Come forward or there will be consequences.
She quickly stuffed it between her computer and closed it.
“Shit,” she whispered. “Shit. Shit. Shit.”
Her breathing increased as she looked at her computer. There was no name on the note. Who could it be? She had done so many jobs before Daddy came to her. Some were more risky than others, a lot were more risky but she had made sure to cover her tracks.
Betsy placed her computer back in her bag. Daddy could not find out about this. She needed to figure out who it was before and if it was an actual threat or not.
She had gotten several threatening messages since she started to hack. Most of them were just trying to scare her and they didn’t actually do anything. But this one felt different, a lot different.
What had she done to deserve it? How did they figure out her real name and where she lived?
Betsy wished she could go back to her apartment and ask the front desk person, but she figured if she did try Daddy would ask so many questions and say he had to go with her. He didn’t need to know about it.
But the thought of keeping it from him made the guilt inside of her grow. She had already lied to him at her apartment. She knew the only way to get rid of the guilt was if she told him, but he couldn’t know. She didn’t need the lecture or him saying she wasn’t thinking fully about the dangers.
“Mikey,” she whispered. “I don’t know what to do.”
Tell him.
She shook her head. “I can’t tell him. My bottom will be on fire but he will also be disappointed in me. I think I would rather live with the guilt than him being disappointed in me when he found out.”
Honestly, Betsy didn’t know what was better. The disappointment or having the feeling of guilt for the rest of her life?
Even if she got into trouble and he spanked her, it wouldn’t take the guilt away about lying to him. How would she get away from the guilt?
By telling him.
She glared at Mikey. “Shhh. I didn’t ask for your opinion this time. I don’t want this opinion right now. I can’t tell him and you know that.”
Betsy didn’t know who it was who sent the note. There was no way she would be able to look into it at his house. She had no idea if he had set anything up so if she looked into things, it would ping him. He no doubt had a way to track what people did through his internet. She just had a feeling he set it up and she didn’t want him to know.
Just tell him.
“Shush. I’m not asking you what I should do. I’m thinking to myself.”
“Is everything okay?” Daddy asked.
Betsy screamed, turning around and staring at Daddy with wide eyes and her hand over her heart.
“Sorry, baby. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
She shook her head. Betsy was on edge and he wasn’t at fault.
“It’s okay. Sorry.”
“Are you okay?”
She gave him a tight smile. “Yes.”
The guilt grew inside of her as she spoke the word. Why couldn’t she just tell him? Because she didn’t want the disappointment. She knew if she told him, he would be disappointed that she didn’t look into whoever it was.
Betsy couldn’t remember who it could have been. She did the work, not thinking much about it, and put it out of her memory after she finished the job. She didn’t want to think about it after. It was a job and that was it.
“Are you sure?”
She nodded and took a step forward before turning around and looking at Mikey.
“Behave yourself,” she scolded him. “We don’t need you to land over my lap for a spanking.”
“What did he do?”
“Just saying things he shouldn’t be saying.”
Daddy had an amused look on his face as she looked back at him. “If you need any help, you can come to me. I am a Daddy.”
“You can’t be too harsh on him. He is really delicate.”
“I’ll remember that if you ever need any help.”
“Good,” she nodded.
She stayed in her spot as she looked at him. Betsy didn’t know if she would be able to take a step forward with the weight of the guilt. It felt impossible to do so. Would he find out either way? Would he be able to read her mind on why she was lying?
Daddy took a step forward.
“Baby.”
“Hmm?”
“Betsy, Little one.”
She looked up to see concern all over his face. She sucked in a breath of air, holding it. He couldn’t know. She hadn’t said anything and there was nothing to indicate why she was lying.
Daddy wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him. She nuzzled her face into his chest and held onto his shirt.
“You’re okay,” he whispered. “I’m here.”
Her fists tightened around his shirt. He made her feel so safe and comfortable. Just this feeling alone made her want to tell him everything so he could take care of it but she couldn’t. He would be disappointed and the last thing she wanted was for him to be disappointed in her.
“Daddy is right here. Nothing is going to happen. Everything is okay.”
He ran his hand through her hair, calming her down some. She had a feeling once he let go, everything would come flooding back. The guilt coming back ten times more than what it already was. With every second she was held in his arms, the more she felt safe and comfortable but she also felt the guilt increasing.
“Aw, Little one. You’re okay. Daddy is right here and I’m not going anywhere. Everything is going to be okay. Daddy is here to protect you,” Daddy said as he held her closer.
Her body was trembling slightly as he said those words. He didn’t know she was keeping something from him. That her lying was the reason she was acting like this. The guilt was going to eat her from the inside out.
“What’s wrong? You can tell Daddy anything. Daddy will make it all better.”
He would make it better but he would also be disappointed. She didn’t want that disappointment.
“Are you getting overwhelmed with everything? Do you need to have an early night tonight?”
“No,” she shook her head. “I mean, I am getting a little overwhelmed but I don’t need an early night.”
It was partially the truth. Everything that had happened, him taking her but also the note was making her overwhelmed.
“Are you sure?” Daddy asked. “I can put you to bed in a couple of minutes if you need to. There is no shame in needing to get some sleep to feel better, I promise. I know that’s what Storm does.”
“Storm?”
“Miles’ Little. He also works in the Ricci Crime Family. His Little gets sick easily so she gets lost of rest.”
“I don’t need rest.”
That was probably a lie. She went down fast for the naps he made her take. She hadn’t been sleeping well for a while.
“Hmmm, I think you do.”
“I promise I don’t need one right now.”
“Okay, but if Daddy thinks that changes, then I will put you down for a nap. Understand?”
“Yes.”
“Yes, Daddy.”
“Yes, Daddy,” she took a deep breath after.
She had only called him Daddy a handful of times out loud. It made it more real and she couldn’t deny that it felt so right and amazing.
“Are you ready to go look at the other room?”
“Yes, Daddy,” she pulled away with a smile on her face. She couldn’t wait to see this room.
