ANGELO

T he wedding goes off beautifully and after saying our “I do’s,” the celebration kicks into high gear.

“Congrats, bro,” Enzo says, clapping me on the back. “I never thought I’d see the day.”

“All I needed was the right woman,” I say. I’m grinning so big that my face is starting to hurt, but I can’t help it. I’m seriously a man in love.

My gaze moves over to where my bride is currently lifting her bouquet of wildflowers into the air. Her back is to Carlotta, Gia and a few other single women who are friends with my brothers’ wives. After counting down, Blake tosses the bouquet over her shoulder and there’s immediately a mad scramble for it. I chuckle and I’m not surprised to see my baby sister snatch it away from everyone. She’s spirited and I hope whoever she ends up with can handle her.

After the women all squeal and hug, I motion for my single guy friends to gather together. There are a few less than there used to be, that’s for sure. My brothers move closer and watch, but since they’re all married, they can’t participate.

Reaching my hand out, Blake puts her smaller one in mine and I pull her forward. “Ready?” I ask as Leo drags a chair over. She nods and gives me a mischievous smile. Then she props her high-heeled foot on the edge of the chair and begins to slowly and very tantalizingly draw her skirt up. Once her white garter is visible and she’s showing off a generous amount of leg, I run my hands up her calf, over her knee and up her thigh, slipping my fingers beneath the garter’s lacy edge. Slowly tugging the elastic down her smooth leg, making quite the show of it, I can’t help but smile as my beautiful bride blushes. I lift her foot and drag the garter past her ankle, over her high heel and snap it off with a smirk.

“You got a knife hidden in one of your heels?” I ask and she giggles. Blake told me she didn’t giggle anymore, but now I’m the only one who can make it happen. And that makes me really damn happy. I know she didn’t have much of a childhood and I’m going to do my best to give her some fun memories that bring out her inner child. Teaching her to giggle again is just the beginning.

“No,” she whispers. Leaning closer, she confides, “It’s actually strapped around my other thigh.”

I burst out laughing. My sexy, little butterfly. One of the things I love most about her is how she can take me by surprise and always in the best possible ways.

After giving her calf a squeeze, I send her a very heated look, reminding her of what’s to come tonight. As much fun as we’re having, I can’t wait to get Blake up to the log cabin in Maine where we’re going to be spending our honeymoon. It’s the perfect spot because it’s where we not only first fell in love, but also because it’s quiet and no one will disturb us. I plan to keep my bride naked and I don’t need anyone dropping by and getting an eyeful or hearing her scream my name as I make her come in and around the cabin. I plan to definitely go for another round in the lake with her.

After pressing a kiss to her knee, I pull her dress back down and spin around to face the single men. Then I stretch the garter and shoot it straight up into the air like a rubberband. They all try to catch it, but there’s only one winner. Leo Amato grins and nearby his girl shrieks with delight. We all laugh when Gia runs over and throws herself into his arms. Miceli’s buddy and Alessia’s sister are perfect for each other. Over the past year, they seem to have gotten to know each other very well and it’s nice to see how they light up when they’re with each other. I know they both went through a broken heart, but they’ve managed to heal each other in the most beautiful way.

In other words, I really won’t be surprised if they’re the next couple to tie the knot. My gaze moves over to Carlotta who is preening over the bouquet she caught, but I don’t see a wedding in her near future. She hasn’t dated anyone since she broke up with that douchebag she dated. What was his name? Randy? Brendan? I don’t remember. All I do know is she wasted too much time and energy on a guy who was a total tool and never put her first.

The small jazz band strikes up a new song and I offer my hand to Blake. “Dance with your husband?” I ask.

“I’d love to,” she murmurs, allowing me to guide her over to the little dance floor surrounded by lights.

I pull her into my arms and we sway to the music, looking deeply into each other’s eyes. I’ve never felt so content, yet so alive at the same time. And I know Blake feels the exact same way because we’ve talked about it.

“How did I ever get so lucky?” she asks.

“Guess it was when you kidnapped the wrong guy,” I say with a devilish smile.

She tilts her head to the side and chuckles. “Best mistake I ever made.”

“And thank God for it.”

As we move to the music, lost in each other, Blake sighs softly. “You make me so happy, Angelo.”

“I could say the exact same thing about you, kitten.”

She seems to be debating saying something more and starts chewing her lower lip.

“What is it?” I ask.

“Well, I have something to tell you. I was going to wait and tell you up at the cabin, but I can’t wait a second longer.”

“Okay, so spill it.” I’m not sure what secret she’s keeping, but I’m curious. Knowing my little butterfly the way I do, it could be anything.

“It’s not going to be just you and me for very long.”

I frown and I’m about to ask her what she means when clarity strikes. Oh, shit. Does she mean?—

“We’re expecting,” she says softly, aqua eyes glittering.

My mouth drops open and I’m not sure why I’m surprised considering all of the sex we’ve been having. Lots and lots of it, without a condom in sight. My heart expands and I lift her up off the floor and spin her in a circle. She’s light as a feather and I turn and turn, exploding with joy.

When I finally lower her back down, we’ve snagged everyone’s attention. Reaching for her hand, I give it a squeeze. “Well, what do you think? Do we share the news?”

She nods. “I think that sounds perfect.”

With a huge smile, I tell everyone that my beautiful wife and I are going to be parents. The cheers are deafening and it’s hard for me to fathom. But, at the same time, there’s no one else on Earth I would do this with. I know it’s going to be a challenge, but I see Miceli handling it quite well, so that gives me hope. Before becoming a father, he was clueless when it came to kids, especially babies.

Pulling Blake back into my arms, I press my forehead against hers and whisper, “You’ve turned my life upside down in the best possible way, you know that? Like a mini tornado that I can’t live without.”

She laughs softly. “Who knew the playboy and the bounty hunter would be such a perfect pair?”

“Who knew?” I echo and kiss her.

After too much food and cake, Blake and I say goodbye. Endless good wishes follow us to the car and after hugging and kissing everyone a dozen or more times, we get in and I drive us to the private airport where my helicopter awaits.

The last time we took this trip things were under very different circumstances.

The flight goes smoothly and it’s getting late by the time we walk into the log cabin, but we both get our second wind fast. After opening the windows to air it out, I light a small fire in the fireplace to chase away the chill coming in off the lake, and lay out a big, soft blanket.

By the glow of the firelight, Blake and I undress each other. Her pale skin seems almost luminescent, ethereal even, and I’m struck once again by how damn beautiful she is—and how damn lucky I am.

She’s mine. All mine for the rest of our lives.

Blake lays down on the blanket and I move over her body, and start kissing her thoroughly. I drop kisses all over her face—on her eyebrow then her cheekbone and the tip of her nose. My lips trail down along her jawline and I trace my tongue down the side of her neck. She tastes sweet and I will never be able to get enough of her.

Writhing beneath me, Blake moans softly as I keep kissing my way down her body, not missing one curve or crevice. Taking my time to explore her body completely. I pay extra special attention to her breasts, licking and laving until she’s arching under my ministrations. My hands replace my mouth and I mold and squeeze, plucking and teasing her nipples.

“Angelo…”

“Patience, kitten.” I look up, now hovering above her belly button, my shoulders wedged between her thighs, and lock gazes with her. “You know where I’m headed next, don’t you?”

Pressing a kiss to her flat stomach, I instantly remember that there’s a baby in there. Well, a very, very tiny one. I hesitate and wonder if there’s any way I can hurt the baby.

As though reading my mind, she smiles. “We can have sex up until I deliver. I asked, so don’t worry about hurting anyone.”

I let out a relieved sigh. “Good to know,” I say, running my fingers over her stomach, “because not being able to make love to you every day, all day during our honeymoon would’ve been quite the bummer.”

She chuckles. “I never pegged you as someone who says ‘make love’.”

I swirl my tongue around her navel. “With you, how could it be anything else?”

“Charmer.”

I nip her hip. “Always. Now lay back and let me take care of my wife.”

I’ve finally reached my destination, spread her legs further and lick up her hot, wet seam.

I am home.

A few days later, Blake and I are sitting on the large back porch, overlooking the woods. In three days, we’ve had more sex than I think I’ve ever had in my life and we’re both exhausted. Taking this moment to recuperate and relax is nice and exactly what we both need to recharge.

Lifting my mug, I take a sip of black coffee and contemplate how much my life has changed in the past three and a half months. I’ve gone from a carefree, eternally single bachelor to a happily married man with a baby on the way.

“How did this even happen?” I murmur softly.

We’re holding hands and Blake squeezes mine.

“I was just thinking the same thing,” she admits, and we both laugh.

“It’s just amazing,” I say. “Our entire lives have changed in such a short amount of time. And I’ve never been so happy—because of you.”

“Same. You have no idea how lonely I was before you, Angelo. Every day was getting harder and harder.”

“You’re not alone anymore, Blake.”

She sends me a beautiful smile. I swear, every day she’s glowing more. I’m not sure if it’s because of the pregnancy or because I make her so happy. I’d like to think it’s a little of both.

“Thank you for that,” she murmurs softly. “Taking that job turned out to be the best thing I ever did.”

“It turned into quite the adventure, didn’t it?”

She nods. “You know what my favorite part was?”

“What?”

“Throwing back that shower curtain and getting my first look at you.” She lifts her hand and fans her face. “Bet no one ever surprised you quite like that before. Or kidnapped you.”

“That was definitely a first,” I admit with a chuckle. “I don’t suppose you still have those handcuffs, do you?”

Arching my brow, I send her a very heated look. I can think of quite a few ways we could put those babies to good use.

“As a matter of fact, they’re in my bag.”

My mouth edges up in a smirk. “You don’t say…”
