Chapter Fourteen

Aurora had a feeling Savage didn’t end the shifters’ lives brutally because of her.

If she hadn’t been in the room, he’d probably have taken extreme measures to show the others exactly why his name was Savage.

It was his restraint alone that showed her how exceptional a male he truly was.

If her parents had continued to live, they’d have loved him.

Oh Goddess, she was in love with the Mafia Vampire.

How the hell was she going to make this work?

“Sssh, Vita Mea, we will make everything work together.”

She jerked her gaze up to his glowing red eyes. “Are you in my head?”

He brushed her hair back from her face. “You were broadcasting so loudly, I’m pretty sure my entire clan could hear you.

I love you, too, but I need to finish with these males before I show you just how much.

” He bent, caging her body in between his arms and the chair.

She melted as he feathered kisses over her forehead, along her cheekbones, and the bridge of her nose, then settled over her mouth.

After a couple of minutes, he stood and stared down at her. “I’ll always think of you and your comfort, my love.”

She felt as if she were a big ol’ puddle of melted goo sitting in his giant throne chair. This male, with all his charm, could turn her into a blabbering fool with nothing more than a look or touch.

“You hold the same power, Vita Mea.” His words were a warm caress inside her mind.

“I promised a crazy Fey Queen I’d handle you with care, as she’s claimed shifters as her people.

I agreed, with the caveat that I’d ensure the ones I sent free weren’t a danger to my people.

I believe you three are salvageable. Magnus and Sterling.

Because you two were good to my female’s little sister, you have been given a second chance.

Sadly, neither of you is fit to be the alpha.

Quinn, you’re a turned wolf with the aura of an alpha.

I don’t believe you want to be the leader of a pack, but you do appreciate the benefits of being a part of one.

Two packs have agreed to let the three of you join theirs on a trial basis.

Both are affiliated with Jenna, so you understand she will have the power to delete you with the snap of her tiny fingers.

” Savage snapped his fingers to show them how easy it would be to eliminate them.

Quinn raised his hand. “Are there humans among them? Are we expected to work or—”

“I don’t know what will happen once you become part of their pack.

The Mystic Wolves are in South Dakota, and the Iron Wolves.

..I’m not quite sure where they are. They’re both powerful packs with alphas I respect.

Um, I will warn you, so you don’t go in thinking shit will be easy with the Iron Wolves.

Once you are part of the pack, you’ll be associating with dragons and other shifter species.

The Mystic Wolves do as well, but I’m not as familiar with how much they are incorporated with other realms. So, choose,” he said. ”

Aurora stumbled to her feet. In her mind, she pictured dragons, bears, and lions —and oh, dear Goddess. “Are you being for real right now?” she asked Savage, touching his arm.

He looked down at her, his arm flexing where she touched.

“What do you mean?”

“You said dragons and others? Have you seen a real freaking dragon?”

His lips kicked up in a grin. “I haven’t seen one myself, but when I spoke with the Fey, I caught a glimpse of a pink one in her mind when she threatened me.

She’s the one who offered the two packs for these males I deemed worthy to live and said I needed to prepare them, so they didn’t shit themselves. ”

“Starla, are you seeing dragons? Have you actually met a pink freaking dragon?”

“Oh my, yes. I was going to contact you once I settled into bed. How did you know?” Starla’s voice had the tone of a child in awe.

“Show me,” she pleaded. Images of a huge pink dragon flying above Starla made her breath hitch. Aurora covered her mouth as she watched a massive black dragon swoop down and wrap its wings around the smaller pink dragon.

“That’s Lula’s mate. They’re so sweet and kind. I’m learning a massive amount here. Love you, sissy.”

“Love you to the moon and beyond, Biddy Bee.”

“Everything good with your sister?” Savage asked, cupping her face.

Aurora didn’t realize she’d been crying until he wiped her cheeks. “Yeah, she’s good.”

Scepter cleared his throat. “I’ll let you handle this unless you need me to take them to their pack?”

A knock interrupted them, and then, like she’d been summoned, Jenna pushed into the room.

“Yoohoo, your fairy godmother is here. So, what’s it to be, my wolfies?

Mystic or Iron? Choose quickly, I ain’t got all day.

I have two mates I needs to be home fucking and sucking.

It truly is a lot on a female’s plate, you know.

” Jenna tapped her wrist as if she had a watch.

“Female, don’t you think you’ve given a little TMI?” Savage shook his head.

“Oh, is Vita Mea like a sexually transmitted thing? I thought vampires couldn’t get them? No, I’m sure they can’t. I’m mated to two of them, silly vamp. Anyhoo, what’s it gonna be?” she asked, turning to look at the three shifters who were staring at her with equal parts fear and hope.

Aurora buried her face against Savage, trying to hide her laughter. Nothing could hide the mirth as her shoulders shook as she tried to ground herself using him for extra strength.

“You two are cute together. Your sister will be very pleased.” Jenna raised her hands, miming the action of a camera taking a picture.

“What the fuck are you doing, female?” Savage asked, his voice a deep rumble.

Bright purple eyes widened back at them, but Aurora knew before the crazy Fey spoke what she’d been doing. She, too, was a little in shock at the woman, but knowing an unhinged yet amazing female like Jenna, she liked to shock others.

“I just took a mental snapshot for Starla. You’re lucky I didn’t make pew, pew signs.” Jenna winked.

“We’ve decided which pack we want to go to.” Quinn broke into the conversation.

Jenna clapped her hands. “That’s good to hear.

So, which shall it be? I should let you know our Goddess isn’t intimidated by your messes.

She specializes in it. You know the addiction the three of you have fallen into with your old crew?

The one where you follow without thought?

Your new pack is nothing of the sort. Kellen Stiles is the alpha of the Iron Wolves.

He's an amazing bestie and an even more awesome alpha. He just doesn’t stand for idiots.

Niall is the alpha of the Mystic Wolves.

He’s lived through the loss of his first mate but was gifted a second mate who, in my opinion, is fantabulous.

While he might appear laidback, I assure you, he’ll whoop your wolf ass without blinking an eye, and then his beta, who happens to be his brother, will do it again because he will feel the need to remind you not to try him.

So, with that being said, which will it be?

Quinn looked over at Magnus and Sterling, then at Jenna. “The Iron Wolves, if they’ll have us.”

Aurora blinked back tears, hearing the heartache in his voice he tried so hard to hide.

The three males were huge in human form and would no doubt be massive wolves.

Her sister said the brothers had been nice, like fun uncles to her while she’d been held captive.

She wondered what devastation they’d suffered.

The pain none of them could mask, at least not from her.

A heartbreak? Some sort of jail cell, bad relationship, or a wild season they’d barely crawled out of?

Whatever it could’ve been, she had a feeling their old alpha used it as leverage.

“Kellen and the others are prepared to welcome you. I’d say with open arms, but it’s not their way. I don’t think any of you would trust them if they did. They’re not sitting around polishin’ their halos, though. I mean, nobody could ever say my wolfies are angels, but they’re good beings.”

Quinn and the other two males nodded in agreement.

“When will I get to see my sister?” Aurora asked. She tried to keep the tremble from her voice as she posed her question. Goddess, she sounded like a stage five clinger for fuckssake.

“You can come with me if you’d like?”

Savage growled. His arm slid around her hips. “When will you return, Starla?” he asked.

Aurora didn’t want to leave Savage or Earth. Although going to Fey sounded exciting, leaving the male who held her heart didn’t appeal to her in the slightest.

“She’s only been gone a few minutes. I think I can handle a couple of days' separation.” Aurora swallowed around the lump in her throat. Her sister had been her entire world for almost ten years. Now, with her being so far away, she felt empty.

“You’re not empty. You have me,” Savage reminded her.

“I’ll leave you two to settle yourselves to mating. Just remember, I’m only a thought away.” Jenna tapped her head. “All you need to do is give me a holler, and I’ll hear you. It might take me a wee bit to get to you, but I’ll do my best to do so in a timely fashion.”

“How do you recognize when one of your Fey is thinking or needing you? Do you just know, or is it by happenstance you hear them?” Savage asked.

“Luck has nothing to do with it, my friend. The Goddess has blessed us all with the ability to know certain things. For me, if I’ve left a door open, as I’ve currently done for Aurora, then it is easy for her to reach me.

I don’t leave it open forever or both ways.

Meaning, you can’t pop into my head, so don’t get any ideas. ” The Fey wagged her finger at Savage.

Her male lifted his hands. “Trust me, I have no wish to be inside your mind.”

“Rude, but it is all good. I gotta go. My mates are going a bit crazy, wondering where I’ve run off to.

We definitely don’t need two wild wolpires popping in here on a rampage because they’re horny.

Toodaloo,” Jenna said in a cheery tone, then she flashed away, before popping back to touch the three shifters. “Forgot these guys. My bad.”

Aurora held her breath until she was sure Jenna was gone before she let out the laugh, and then she couldn’t stop. She wrapped her arms around her middle and continued laughing until tears streamed down her cheeks. Savage’s hand patted her back as he chuckled with her.

“I don’t know if I like her, love her, fear her, or what,” she gasped.

“Probably a mix of all those things. She’s a bit unhinged, I think. I can see why it takes two males to handle all her...crazy.” Savage ran his hand down her back, stopping to cup her ass.

“She’s gorgeous. No, that is an understatement.” Aurora stood up, turning to face him.

He grunted. “She’s pretty, but I think you’re the most stunning creature I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

Aurora stepped closer to him. “I think you’re the crazy one.”

He pulled her closer to him, his hands spanning her hips. “Hmm, I disagree. So, would you like to go down to the club or—”

Aurora shook her head. “Where do you live?”

Savage blinked. “You mean when I’m not here?”

She nodded.

“I have a home not far from here. Many of my clan members also live on the property. Would you like to see it? If you don’t like something, you can change it, or we can buy new, rebuild it, or do whatever you’d like. As long as you’re with me.”

“I need my sister with us, too.” Her being there was a necessity.

“Of course. I would never ask you to leave her or go anywhere without her. Well, except on our honeymoon. I would think she’d be okay with us if we took a few days away to get acquainted.” He ran his knuckles down her cheek, along her neck, between her breasts.

Her breath froze at his touch. “I think we can arrange it.”

“Scepter, you got this?” Savage looked over Aurora’s head.

“Get the fuck out of here, Boss. Your office already smells like the two of you. I suggest you both go and make the rest of your property do the same,” Scepter said, his voice held a cheerful tone which didn’t reach his eyes.

Aurora smiled at the other man, even though she was mad at him...she understood why he’d turned her sister away. If he and Savage were close in age, then her sister needed to mature significantly before committing herself to a man like him.

“Never underestimate the intuition of a woman. It’s their greatest weapon, my friend.” Savage and Scepter locked arms. A look passed between them, a result of years of experience. Aurora sighed, knowing these males loved one another.

“I love you. I care for my clan. There’s a difference, anima mea.”

“Whisk me away, Savage.” She’d never considered herself some sort of princess who needed saving. Although she really wanted to feel like one with her own knight in shining armor—Savage Rossi.

Savage bent, placed one arm under her knees and the other behind her back, and swept her up into his arms. “Off we go, my lady.” He spoke with a fake British accent as he spun them in a circle, making her giggle.

“You need to laugh more, Vita Mea.”

“As do you.” With her arms wrapped around his neck, Savage carried Aurora with ease, sweeping her away while she relished in his attention.
