T he day after we arrived in Vegas, my phone woke me up. I opened one eye to see it was Nodin calling. Again. “You like being my wake-up call, huh?”
He chuckled. “It’s two in the afternoon. You should be preparing for tonight.”
I winced, keeping my eyes closed. My head was pounding, and his bitching wasn’t helping. “Fuck.” I rolled onto my back and brushed against a small, warm body.
A small moan sounded as I opened my eyes to a blonde girl with a fake tan naked in the bed next to me. “Double fuck.”
“What? What happened?” Nodin asked.
I sighed. “Nothing. I guess I brought a girl back to my room with me last night.”
“Well, get rid of her. You need to get your head in the game so I didn’t chase this bitch halfway across the country for nothing,” Nodin chastised.
Anger started to fill me, and coupled with my hangover, I was about to lose it. “Look, nomad, I know what’s at stake. My dad made it pretty clear he’d have my ass if I fucked this up.” I took a few deep breaths to calm down. “I will do my job.”
“Good to hear. The girls are waiting for a transport to take them on a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon so they’ll be gone for a few hours. Gives you time to get your shit together.”
My jaw clenched as he continued, “Then they’re planning to go to dinner at the Sugar Factory and to Fremont Street after that.”
“Fremont is a perfect place to grab them. Plenty of alleys and drunks, so no one should bat an eye.”
“My thoughts exactly,” Nodin replied, then paused. After a few seconds, he said, “I’ll let you know when they head down there, and then I’m done.”
I sat up, then winced as my head spun. What the fuck did we drink last night? “Okay. Raleigh and I will handle it from there. Thanks for everything. I’ll let my dad know you’ll be coming tonight.”
“Good. Thanks, brother.”
I ended the call and set my phone on the nightstand. I looked over my shoulder at the sleeping woman in my bed, then let out a gruff sigh of annoyance. I did not want to deal with this shit with a hangover.
“Hey,” I said, gently shaking her. “Time to go.”
The blonde groaned but didn’t move.
Rolling my eyes, I shook her harder and raised my voice. “Hey, time to go.”
She sat up with a gasp, her makeup smudged all around her brown eyes. “Where am I?” She blinked rapidly before focusing on me and pulling the sheets up to cover her exposed breasts. “Who are you?”
I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck. “Name’s Jameson. You’re in my hotel room at the Bellagio. I assume we met at a bar last night based on the pounding headache and lack of memory I have right now.”
“Fuck. I promised I wouldn’t do this again.” She eyed me up and down. “Not that you’re not hot, but I’m supposed to be more responsible.” She jumped out of the bed, taking the sheet with her, before grabbing her clothes off the floor and running into the bathroom.
I chuckled, then started to get dressed myself. I slipped my jeans on, then called my brother.
“Hello?” he answered after several rings. He sounded like I felt.
“Hey. Do you have a naked woman in your bed?”
A few seconds passed before he answered, “How’d you know?”
“Wild guess. Get rid of her and come to my room.”
He groaned, “Ugh, my head is pounding.”
I laughed as I hung up the phone. The woman came out of the bathroom in a black minidress that barely covered her ass. “I gotta go,” she said.
I nodded. “Cool.”
Her eyes darted around the room before settling on the pen and notepad on the coffee table. “Give me a call sometime,” she said as she scribbled on the top piece of paper.
I arched a brow. “You remember last night?”
She smiled, shaking her head as she handed me the paper. “No. But I’m sore, so that’s a good sign.”
I smirked as I glanced from the note with her name and number on it to her. “Oh. Well, nice to meet you, Sarah.”
Her cheeks turned red as she eyed me up and down again before heading to the door. “You, too.”
As Sarah opened the door, my brother appeared. His brow furrowed as Sarah scooted past him. “Excuse me.”
“What the fuck happened last night?” Raleigh asked after entering the room.
I shook my head. “I don’t fucking know. Guess we met some girls and got drunk.”
He chuckled as he sat down on the couch. “So what’s up? Why’d you summon me?”
“Nodin called. The girls are going to Fremont tonight.”
“Are we grabbing them there?”
I nodded. “Yeah. I think that’s best. We don’t know for sure how long they’re staying so we don’t want to risk them leaving before we get them.”
“Okay, so we grab them and head home? Or come back here?”
“I think once we get them in our cars, we head home. Less of a chance for them to escape.”
Raleigh raised his brows. “So no luring her back to your room with your good looks and biker appeal?”
I shrugged. “That’s the plan. But once she gets in my car, I don’t have to keep up the act.”
Raleigh tsked. “I don’t think you’ve thought this through.”
I crossed my arms over my chest. “What do you mean?”
He chuckled. “What happens when she realizes you’re not going back to a hotel and essentially kidnapping her? You don’t think she’s going to fight you and try to get out of the car?”
Shit. I guess I hadn’t thought that through.
“I still think we should just drug them,” Raleigh suggested.
I shook my head, trying to think of scenarios that didn’t involve drugging the girls. “What if we bring them back here to party?”
“And then, what? Get them blackout drunk?” Raleigh asked with a scoff.
That would involve carrying them out while they were passed out, and we’d already determined that wasn’t a good idea.
I sighed. “I still want to stick with my original plan. If we can’t get them to come with us, then we buy them one last drink and slip the roofies in, then take them down one of the alleys to our cars.”
Raleigh shook his head with a roll of his eyes. “Whatever you say. It’s your ass.”
I narrowed my brows at him. “You got any better ideas? Besides drugging them?”
My brother looked down at his feet. “Uh, yeah.”
I chuckled, gesturing for him to go on. “I’m all ears.”
“What if we bring them back here to party and get them wasted, but not blackout wasted. Then we offer to give them a ride to their hotel.”
He paused, making eye contact with me. “Go on,” I urged.
“They would willingly walk with us to our cars, would probably pass out on the way, and then we can take them back home with no drama.”
It was a decent plan. “But how do we get them wasted but not too wasted?” I asked with a chuckle.
He shrugged. “I don’t fucking know. Wing it and hope for the best?”
Rolling my eyes, I laughed. “Great plan.”
“Hey, you said no drugs. This is the only thing I can think of with no drugs,” Raleigh replied.
“Let’s go to the buffet and get something to eat. Maybe it will help us think clearer,” I suggested.
“I’ll never turn down food,” Raleigh joked.
“Let me just give Dad an update, and then we can go,” I said.
Me: Hey the girls are going to Fremont tonight and we’re planning to meet them there
Pops: Good. Keep me posted
Me: Will do. Nodin wanted me to let you know he’s coming to the clubhouse tonight to crash for a couple of days
Pops: K
I threw on a shirt and my cut before we made our way down to the buffet. I had two free buffet passes from the last time I gambled there, so we definitely took advantage.
“What time do you think they’ll go down there tonight?” Raleigh asked as we left the buffet.
I shrugged. “Probably around nine. Nodin is going to let us know before he heads to Laughlin.”
He glanced at his phone. “It’s not even four yet. What are we going to do until then?”
I furrowed my brows as him. “Uh, we’re in a casino. I’m gonna gamble.”
We went to get our players cards, then I hit the craps table. Raleigh chose to go play roulette. The time flew by as I played, and I was up about five hundred bucks after a couple of hours.
When eight o’clock rolled around, I cashed out and went to find my brother. He wasn’t at the roulette table anymore, but I found him at a blackjack table not too far from where I’d been playing.
He had a couple of stacks in front of him. I tapped him on the shoulder. “Hey, we need to get ready to go.”
He briefly glanced at me, then back to the table. “After this hand.”
We went back up to our rooms to get ready. I wanted to shower and change because I had just thrown on my clothes from the night before, and I wanted to make a good impression.
Definitely couldn’t do that smelling like sex and cigarettes.
I showered and pulled my hair back into a ponytail before putting on a fitted black shirt, my cut, my favorite jeans, and my riding boots before spraying my cologne.
Raleigh knocked a few seconds later. When I opened the door, he asked, “Ready?”
I nodded. “Let’s go over the plan one more time so we’re on the same page.”
He let out an exasperated sigh but didn’t say anything.
“Okay, so we’re heading down there in my Tahoe, then planning to bring the girls back here.”
“Yep, and then we offer to give them a ride to their hotel after they’ve had too much to drink, then wait for them to pass out in the car and drive them back home.”
I nodded. “Good. Now, let’s hope we don’t fuck this up.”
We decided to head to Fremont before we heard from Nodin just so we could be there when the girls arrived. He texted me about thirty minutes after we got there that the girls were on their way.
We hung out at an outdoor bar near the rideshare drop-off area so we could see them as soon as they arrived.
After about fifteen minutes, I saw a blond girl get out of an Uber, then Lucia.
Damn. She was even prettier in person.
I nudged my brother as I kept my eyes on Lucia. “They’re here.”
He followed my gaze to the two giggling girls. “Well, at least the friend is hot.”
I frowned. “Lucia’s hot, too. You just like skinny bitches with no meat on them. Let’s go.”
Lucia was average height and thick, especially in the hips and ass. I preferred thicker women because I didn’t feel like I was going to break them. Some of my dad’s strippers made me feel that way, and it just wasn’t as enjoyable for me.
We trailed them from a distance as they talked animatedly, pointing out different things and laughing. I started to feel bad about what was going to happen to them, but I reminded myself it could be worse. At least I didn’t have to kill them.
The girls stopped at an outdoor bar designed like a carousel and each ordered one of the giant yard tourist drinks.
“This is going to be easier than I thought,” Raleigh commented as we sat on the opposite end of the bar from them.
“Not necessarily.” I chuckled. “Some of those drinks are more sugar than alcohol.”
“True. So do you want to buy some shots and go over to them?”
I nodded. “I think that’s a good idea. Let’s start with something fruity, then work up to something stronger.”
Raleigh flagged a bartender down. “Four lemon drops.”
The bartender nodded, and once he made us the shots, we approached the girls. Lucia’s friend was facing us, and her eyebrows went up when she noticed us. She nudged Lucia, and they both turned when we reached them.
A knot formed in my throat when I came face-to-face with Lucia. Her caramel-colored skin was a perfect compliment to her dark brown hair and eyes.
She was fucking gorgeous.
“Hi,” her friend greeted.
Lucia just smiled as I cleared the lump in my throat. “Hey. We wanted to see if you’d like to take some shots with us?”
“Hell yeah,” the friend answered. My eyes met Lucia’s, and she quickly averted her gaze, cheeks turning pink.
Raleigh handed the friend a shot while I handed Lucia one. “My name’s Jameson. This is my brother, Raleigh.”
“Elizabeth,” Lucia answered as she took the shot from me. I heard the friend introduce herself to Raleigh as Olivia.
I arched a brow, wondering why she was lying right off the bat. “Are you from around here, Elizabeth?”
“No,” Olivia answered. “We’re on a road trip.”
“Oh, nice,” Raleigh said.
“Are you from here?” Lucia asked me.
“Kind of. We live about an hour and a half away in a town called Laughlin.”
“Are you guys real bikers?” Olivia asked.
I nodded, glancing down at my cut. “Yep. Forsaken MC.”
Lucia eyed me up and down. “And you’re the sergeant at arms?”
I smirked. “Yep. Our dad is the president of the club.”
“Wow, really? Is he super hot, too?” Olivia asked.
Raleigh and I both laughed. “I guess most women think he’s hot,” Raleigh answered.
Olivia and Lucia gave each other a look, then her friend raised her shot. “To hot bikers.”
We all took the shot, and Lucia winced before taking a sip from her yard drink. “Not a shot person?” I asked.
She shook her head with a small laugh. “I don’t have a lot of experience with alcohol.”
“Yeah, she’s a lightweight,” Olivia teased.
I gave Lucia a warm smile. “Nothing wrong with that. Alcohol can lead to bad things.”
“Or good things,” Olivia giggled before sipping her drink.
“Are y’all looking to party tonight?” Raleigh asked.
Olivia leaned in toward my brother. “What did you have in mind?”
Raleigh shrugged. “More shots, show you girls Fremont, then head back to our rooms at the Bellagio. We have some bottles there.”
Lucia and her friend looked at each other again, and Lucia seemed wary. “We’ll see how the night goes,” she said.
Olivia moved closer to Raleigh, trailing a finger down the middle of his shirt. “Well, I, for one, will definitely be going back to your room.”
Lucia jabbed her friend. “Olivia!”
“What? I like to be upfront about my intentions,” Olivia replied.
Lucia rolled her eyes as Olivia continued, “I made this sex pact.”
Raleigh’s eyebrows rose as his eyes quickly darted to mine before focusing on Olivia again.
Lucia elbowed Olivia, and Olivia hissed, “What? These guys are like straight from our books. You can’t tell me you don’t want to hook up with them.”
Lucia’s whole face flushed red as I fought back a laugh.
“What is this sex pact?” Raleigh asked as he draped an arm around Olivia’s shoulders.
Lucia crossed her arms over her chest, rolling her eyes again. “Olivia here wants to have sex with a guy in every city we stop at on our road trip.”
I chuckled. “Really?”
“Yes, really,” Olivia replied, giving Lucia a pointed look.
“I like a woman who knows what she wants,” Raleigh commented.
Olivia and my brother started flirting and laughing. Lucia rubbed her arms, and she looked uncomfortable. “Hey, you know I don’t expect the same from you.”
She gave me a small smile. “It’s not that I don’t find you attractive, because I do, but that’s just not me.”
I grinned. “And that’s okay. Not everyone is as forward as your friend.”
She laughed. “That’s one word for her.”
I wanted Lucia to feel more comfortable with me, so I changed the subject, “Tell me something about yourself.”
Her cheeks flushed again, and she let out a nervous giggle. “Like what?”
I shrugged. “Your favorite things. Anything about you.”
She paused for a moment, pursing her full lips. “Well, my favorite food is sancocho.”
“Never heard of it,” I said. “What is it?”
“It’s a Colombian stew, usually served with rice. My mom makes it once a week because my sisters and I love it so much.” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled. “What about you?”
“Lasagna. It’s the ultimate comfort food for me.” I tried to think of something else to ask her. “What about your favorite movie?”
“ Steel Magnolias , hands down.”
I sheepishly rubbed the back of my neck. “I’ve never seen it.”
Her jaw dropped, and her eyebrows flew up. “What?”
“I mean, it’s a chick flick, right?” I chuckled.
“Well, yeah, but it’s a classic. And it’s so much more than a typical chick flick.”
“Guess I’ll have to watch it, then.”
She giggled. “I can’t imagine you watching it.”
I laughed. “I’ll do it just because it’s your favorite.”
Our eyes met, and we stared at each other for several seconds. Her cheeks flushed again as a coy smile curved her full lips, and my dick got a little hard. I had the urge to kiss her when Raleigh interrupted, “Shots!”
My brother handed me two more lemon drops, and I offered Lucia one. She hesitated, biting her bottom lip for a few seconds before taking the glass. “To a night we won’t forget,” I said, holding my shot up.
She clinked my glass with hers, smiling wider. “To a night we won’t forget.”
After several more rounds of shots, the girls were definitely buzzed. They had both also finished their yard drink, so they had to be feeling it.
“So what do you say we go back to our hotel and continue the party there?” Raleigh asked.
Olivia had been all over him, periodically making out between shots and conversation. “I’m down,” she said, her eyes lidded.
Lucia giggled. She had definitely relaxed some once the alcohol kicked in. “Sure, why not? You only live once, right?”
“Yes!” Olivia squealed. “That’s what I’m talking about!”
Raleigh gave me a look, smirking. “Awesome, let’s go.”
We led the girls to my Tahoe, then drove back to the hotel.
“I can’t believe you’re staying at the Bellagio,” Olivia commented as we pulled into the parking garage.
“Living nearby has its perks,” I replied. “Locals get better offers from the casinos.”
When we got to our floor, we went to my room because it was nicer. I had their lowest class of suite overlooking the Strip, and Raleigh had a basic room.
I opened the room and led everyone in, turning on the lights.
“Wow, this is really nice,” Lucia commented, looking around the room.
I went to open the curtains. “Yeah, and look at this view.” My room was overlooking the fountains at the front of the property.
“Damn, that is a nice view,” Lucia said.
Raleigh opened the minibar and pulled out the bottle of Grey Goose from inside. “What mixers do you girls like?”
“Sprite for me,” Olivia said, moving from the window over to where Raleigh was.
Lucia stayed with me by the window, a lazy smile on her face. “Is there pineapple or cranberry juice?” she asked. “I don’t drink soda.”
“No, but I can order some through room service,” I offered.
“You don’t have to do that,” she replied, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“I don’t mind,” I said, walking to the hotel phone. I called room service and asked for carafes of both pineapple and cranberry juice.
I went back over to Lucia by the window. “Should be up soon.”
“Thank you,” she replied, her cheeks turning pink again. God, I loved when they did that.
“No problem.” I smiled at her, then looked out the window at the still water of the fountains. I wondered when the next show would be.
“What’s it like being a biker?” Lucia asked.
I chuckled, directing my attention to her. I thought for a couple of seconds before answering, “Fast. Free.”
She grinned. “That sounds fun. I never really knew freedom until this trip.”
I knew a little about her background already, but I feigned surprise. “Oh, really? Why’s that?”
She shrugged, looking away from me to the fountains below. “My dad was protective. He never let me do anything.”
“Ah. That’s how it goes with dads and daughters, doesn’t it?” I said. “My dad was always stricter with my sister than my brother and me, and she left as soon as she turned eighteen.”
“She did? Where did she go?”
I remembered that I was talking to Matteo’s niece and had to be careful about how much I said. I didn’t want to slip up and tell her that Dixyn had dated Matteo and we were the reason he was dead. “Cali.” I laughed, thinking about Dixyn’s journey.
A smile crept over her lips as she looked back up at me. “What?”
“My sister left because she wanted nothing to do with our biker lifestyle. Then when she came back, she ended up settling down with one. Ironic.”
“Really?” Lucia giggled.
I nodded. “A real hard-ass too. Almost as bad as my dad.”
Lucia laughed, and it was becoming my favorite sound. “That’s pretty funny. Is she happy?”
I thought for a moment, a grin curving my lips. “Yeah. She is. They just had a baby about two months ago.”
“Aw, that’s so sweet. She got her happily ever after.”
Our eyes locked, and we stared at each other for several seconds. The fountain show started, drawing Lucia’s gaze away. “Oh, look.”
“You haven’t seen it yet?”
“Not yet,” Lucia replied, eyes glued to the dancing water.
A knock on the door sounded, and I left her to answer it. The room service attendant smiled. “Your juice, sir. May I bring it in?”
“Sure,” I said, stepping back for him to come in.
He set the tray on the table, then went to the door. “Thank you for choosing the Bellagio.”
“Now we can get this party started,” Olivia announced, grabbing both carafes and taking them to Raleigh. “Elizabeth, get your ass over here and have a drink.”
“I’m watching the fountain show,” Lucia replied, unmoving from her spot at the window.
I walked up to Olivia and my brother. “I’ll take it to her.”
Raleigh poured the vodka to almost half the glass, then filled the rest with pineapple juice. He added a splash of cranberry at the top, then mixed the drink with a spoon. “Here you go.”
“Let’s take a shot, too,” Olivia said.
I walked over to Lucia and handed her the drink. “Thank you.” She smiled before taking a sip.
“Elizabeth!” Olivia screeched. “Get. Your. Ass. Over. Here. And. Take. A. Shot.”
She rolled her eyes, sighing. “Fine.”
“The shows are every fifteen minutes,” I said, following her.
“Oh, good. Since I was so rudely interrupted,” she said, nudging Olivia.
Olivia scoffed and handed Lucia a shot. “What is this?” Lucia asked.
“Tequila,” Olivia answered.
I arched a brow at my brother, who shrugged. “Her idea.”
Since the girls were buzzed, Lucia didn’t argue with Olivia. She took the shot and winced, then took a sip of the drink I’d given her.
“Too bad we don’t have limes and salt, or we could do body shots,” Olivia said.
“Yeah, that is unfortunate,” Raleigh said. “I’d love to get my mouth on you.”
Olivia giggled, and I rolled my eyes. Lucia laughed as Olivia threw her arms around Raleigh and started kissing him.
“Here we go again,” Lucia joked, grabbing my hand and leading me to the couch. “They’re like teenagers.”
They broke apart. “Hey, I’m way more mature than a teenager,” Raleigh stated.
“Barely,” I teased.
“Fuck you,” my brother retorted. He put on some music, and the drinks began flowing. We were all laughing and having such a good time that I almost forgot what we were there for.
The girls were almost to that point, and I made eye contact with Raleigh, giving him a slight nod. The girls were dancing together and giggling, then Olivia broke away and plopped down on Raleigh’s lap. “Take me to your room.”
His eyebrows rose, and his eyes met mine again. A smirk curved the corner of his lips. “Sure thing, sweetheart.”
Olivia squealed before hopping up and pulling Raleigh up behind her.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” I asked, arching a brow.
Raleigh narrowed his eyes at me like he did when he talked back to my dad when we were kids. “Yes. I’ll bring her back in one piece.”
I knew it was a bad idea, and we should stick to the plan, but I couldn’t deny that I wanted some alone time with Lucia. “Okay.”
“You okay here, Luz?” Olivia slurred as they stumbled to the door.
She nodded, a blissful smile on her face. “I’m good. Jameson will take care of me.”
We made eye contact, and she bit down on her bottom lip. Her hand ran over my thigh, and my dick started to get hard. I could barely hear the door close over my heart pounding.
“What do you want to do now?” Lucia asked.
