6. Piper

I shouldn’t be as excitedas I am that Lightning is waiting for me when I get home today. After our non-date and that kiss, he is all I can seem to think about. I only finished half my work because I kept thinking of him, and I didn’t even care.

So, I had my bag packed, my computer shut down, and I was out the door and in my car by five o”clock.

I had images in my head of dinner, a movie, and at least one more of those kisses until I pulled into my driveway. It’s clear as day that Lightning was busy all day. Several motion-triggered lights are installed that were not there when I left the house this morning, and a quick look shows a few security cameras, too.

What the hell is he doing?

I grab my stuff and head inside, taking account of the new lock on my door, the new video camera next to my door, and how everything on my front porch has been moved just slightly.

Thankfully, the front door is unlocked as I open it.

“Lightning?” I call out into the quiet house.

There is a bit of shuffling noise in the hallway, and then he appears with a strained smile on his face. I know him well enough by now to know that something is wrong.

“You”ve been busy today.” It”s a statement, not a question, but he still answers.

“Yes. I added new security measures around your house. Motion sensor lighting and video, strengthened all the locks. I tested all the entry points to make sure that they’re fully secure.”

As he”s talking, I notice that he”s babying his hurt arm. Hearing everything that he”s done makes me realize he worked himself to the point of reinjuring his arm.

“Why?” I ask him.

“Why what?” He asks, complete confusion on his face.

“Why did you do all that and push yourself so hard that you reinjured your arm?” I ask taking his non-injured hand and leading him to the couch to sit down.

He sighs and rests his head on the back of the couch, looking up at the ceiling as I pull some hand sanitizer from my purse. Then I start to unravel the gauze on his arm to make sure he didn”t reopen any stitches. When I see that his stitches are fine, I gently bandage him back up.

“I”m here looking into a dangerous motorcycle club, and I can’t go around asking too many questions without knowing that you’re safe here.” He rolls his head to the side and looks at me.

My heart is racing so fast I”m sure he can hear it. The fact that he cares that much about my safety means the world to me. No one has ever cared that much about me outside of my mom, and that was only once she met my stepdad and started to get better. I like to think my father cared before he died, but I have no idea.

I’m so touched by his words, I don’t even think. I just lean in and kiss him.

The kiss is soft and tender, conveying unspoken emotions and mutual understanding between Lightning and me. It feels like a promise, a silent agreement that we will watch out for each other no matter what dangers may be around the corner.

As we pull away, Lightning cups my cheek with his good hand, his gaze intense yet vulnerable. “I didn’t mean to involve you in this, Piper. But I can’t risk anything happening to you.”

I place my hand over his, feeling the warmth of his touch seep into my skin. “I appreciate you looking out for me, but I want to help.”

A flicker of relief passes through Lightning’s eyes before a ghost of a smile graces his lips. “You’re too stubborn for your own good, Piper.”

I chuckle softly, enjoying the banter between us. “Says the man who just got injured trying to protect me,” I joke and lean in to kiss him again.

Lightning pulls me closer, deepening the kiss as if trying to convey all the unspoken words that linger between us. In that moment, it feels like the world around us fades away, leaving just the two of us in our bubble. Wanting to deepen the kiss, I move and straddle his lap without breaking our connection.

His hands find their way to my waist, pulling me closer as the kiss deepens. The air around us crackles with unspoken desires and emotions, each touch and caress igniting a fire that has been smoldering between us since the first moment we met. I can feel his heartbeat under my fingertips, matching the rhythm of my own pulse as we surrender to the passion that has been building between us.

But reality crashes back in when Lightning winces in pain, reminding me of his injured arm. I pull back, my brows tightening with concern.

“Are you okay?” I ask softly, my fingers brushing over the bandage on his arm.

He nods, a small smile playing on his lips. “I”ll be fine. Just need to take it easy for a bit.”

Suddenly it’s like I’m not myself. I want him so badly and I’m not even going to let his arm stop us. So I grab his good hand and lead us back to my room. He follows, and when I turn to face him, his eyes search mine. I help him remove his shirt before I nod toward the bed.

“Go lie down,” I tell him. He hesitates for just a moment before climbing in bed and lying down in the center.

I close the door behind me and move to stand in front of the bed where Lightning is lying, his eyes fixed on me with a mixture of desire and hesitation. I can see the storm of emotions swirling in his eyes, mirroring my own feelings that I”ve been trying to suppress since the moment we met.

Taking a deep breath, I climb onto the bed and straddle him, feeling the warmth of his body seeping through the fabric of our clothes. Our eyes lock in a silent conversation filled with longing and unspoken promises. Without breaking eye contact, I lean down to capture his lips in a searing kiss, pouring all my pent-up emotions into it.

Lightning responds eagerly, his hands finding their way to my waist as he pulls me closer, deepening the kiss with a hunger that matches my own.

His good hand comes up to cup my cheek, his thumb stroking my skin tenderly. “Piper, are you sure about this?” he asks softly, his voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability.

I smile at him, a reassuring warmth spreading through me. “I”ve never been more sure about anything,” I reply, my voice barely above a whisper as I reach down and grab my shirt before pulling it over my head.

As my shirt falls to the floor, a shiver runs through Lightning”s body, his eyes darkening with desire.

“You are so damn beautiful,” he says as his eyes roam over my body.

“So are you, like this, in my bed…” I move down his body and unbutton his jeans.

I slowly remove his pants, watching the tension in his muscles as my hands brush against his skin. Lightning”s breath hitches as I toss his pants aside, leaving him in just his boxers. The raw desire in his eyes sends a surge of heat through me, igniting a fire that threatens to consume us both. Without breaking eye contact, I lean down to capture his lips in a kiss.

His hands roam over my body with a hunger that matches my own, leaving a trail of warmth in their wake.

“You are wearing entirely too many clothes, Doll,” he says as he removes my bra with just one hand.

I smile and slide down his body, this time standing up and removing my pants before I rejoin him on the bed.

“There, now we’re even,” I say with a smirk.

He wraps his good arm around me, and with surprising force, pulls me up the bed until I’m sitting on his face.

“Let me taste you,” he says.

I grip the headboard and try to keep my weight off him.

“Piper,” he growls, “You better sit on my face.”

“I’ll suffocate you. If you haven’t noticed, I’m not exactly skinny,” I tell him with an eye roll.

“What a damn perfect way to go. I love every one of your curves.” He reaches up and rips away my panties before leaning up and sucking on my clit.

I gasp at the sudden wet sensation, my nerves tingling with pleasure. ”Oh, God,” I moan, my hands gripping the headboard as he continues to lick and suck, his tongue expertly working its magic.

His other hand reaches around, skillfully finding my wet and waiting entrance. He slides a finger inside, pumping it in and out in a steady rhythm while his mouth never leaves my sensitive nub. The sensation is overwhelming, and I arch my back, my whole body trembling with the intensity of the pleasure.

I cry out, my release washing over me like a tidal wave. My muscles clench around his finger, and I can feel his smirk as he pulls away from me, swallowing hard.

”I need you inside me, now,” I beg, my voice quivering as I reach into the nightstand and grab a condom.

He slides his boxers off, and I rip open the condom and reach for his already hard cock. He stops me and takes the condom from me.

“If you touch me, this is going to be over way too fast,” he says as he rolls the condom on. “Now get over here and ride me.”

I obey, climbing onto him with needy desperation. He guides me, positioning himself at my entrance, his eyes locked on mine. The intensity of his gaze sends shivers down my spine as I lower myself onto him, feeling the sensation of his hard length entering me.

”Fuck, Piper,” he groans, his voice thick with desire. ”You feel so good.”

I start to rock my hips, slowly at first, then gaining momentum as we both lose ourselves in the rhythm of our bodies.

Each thrust brings us closer, the world around us fading away into nothingness. Our bodies move in perfect sync, my nails digging into his shoulders and his hands gripping my waist. The bed creaks under the force of our passion, the sound mingling with our heavy breathing and our skin slapping together.

”Fuck, yes,” I moan, my voice hoarse with pleasure. ”Lightning, I can”t hold back...”

His eyes lock onto mine, his gaze intense and filled with the same desperation I feel. ”Then don”t,” he growls, his hips bucking fiercely as he meets my movements.

The air between us crackles with energy, our bodies moving in a perfect dance of lust and desire. I feel his cock twitch deep inside me, signaling his release, and that”s all it takes to push me over the edge as well.

In one last, powerful thrust, Lightning slams into me, his eyes locked on mine as we both reach our peak. I cry out, my release washing over me like an ocean wave, my muscles clenching around his cock insistently.

He groans, his body tensing, his release spilling into the condom. He collapses back onto the bed, his breath ragged. I lower myself onto him, our sweaty bodies entwined, our hearts pounding in sync.

We stay like that for a while, caught in the aftermath of our passion, our eyes locked, words unnecessary. Finally, I pull away, our bodies behaving like two magnets, reluctant to separate from each other.

I lie down beside him, my head resting on his shoulder. His good hand comes up to cup my cheek, his thumb stroking my skin tenderly.

”Piper,” he says softly, his voice filled with a mixture of tenderness and vulnerability.

“I know,” I say as we soak in the feeling neither of us can quite put into words just yet.
