Chapter 16
SIXTEEN
WAYLON
I wake up before Bianca the next morning, still naked from the night before. She’s sprawled across me like a rag doll, her breath soft and warm on my chest. My dick is already hard just because it’s the morning, but it twitches as I take in her. She’s a model — and as much as she says she wasn’t a good one, I don’t believe her — but she’s absurdly gorgeous in a way that goes beyond just finding a woman on a billboard pretty.
Especially seeing her underneath me, writhing against me and finally losing herself to pleasure.
I sigh through my nose and grip my cock at the base. I could easily go for another round right now, but we don’t have a bucket list thing to check off. Unless she wants to see if she can come more than once in one go, which I’m more than happy to try.
Bianca shifts in her sleep, rubbing her leg against mine and curling up closer to my chest. The little sigh she lets out tugs at my heart in ways it shouldn’t. It’s like she’s exactly where she wants to be. Where she should be.
No, we shouldn’t go out of bounds. We’re sticking to the bucket list, period. Not making it any more complicated than that.
But I hope we can check off more things soon, because I’m addicted to how she feels. To how she shivers all over right before she comes. To her pert little ass that feels just right in my hands.
Bianca yawns and stretches, her eyes fluttering open.
“Hi,” she says, her voice rough with sleep.
“Hey.” I sit up on one elbow. “Sleep well?”
“Very.” She bites her lip like she’s trying not to smile. “A little sore, though.”
“Sorry.” I let myself squeeze her hip. “But it felt good at the time, right?”
“Oh, definitely.” She finally smiles. “I still have so many things I want to try from my bucket list.”
“Let me know when you want to try them and I’ll be there.” I bite the inside of my cheek. Does that sound too desperate?
Duke stands up and stretches, walking over to the bed and resting his chin on it. He wags his tail, looking so damn cute that I have to get up and pet him.
“Want a walk, buddy?” I ask. Sadie pops up from where she was sleeping and lets out a tiny arf. “ You too, Sadie?”
“I can walk her.” Bianca yawns again and starts to get up.
“Nah, it’s fine. I’ll take them both and check on breakfast.” And I need some fucking air. She smells too good, and I can smell her all over the sheets.
I throw on some clothes and get the dogs ready to go out. Since it’s still early, the resort is pretty quiet, giving me space to think. The dogs sniff everything they pass, exploring the edges of the path.
We need to crank through this bucket list just for the sake of my ability to keep my hands to myself. Now that we’ve fucked, it’s like I’ve popped a seal. All the lust I’ve been harboring since the moment I saw her, plus a dry spell, and then some lackluster sex before that are coming to a head. I need to fuck her until I hit that point where I’m used to it again.
But maybe that’s exactly what I need — putting the bucket list in the forefront of my head instead of faking the relationship, just to put some distance between us. People are already convinced that we’re real, even after the hiccup last night. We don’t have to try all that hard.
And maybe people are just saying we work because it’s been a while since they’ve seen me with anyone who isn’t Catherine. Thinking back to how often we bickered still makes me want to cringe. Literally everyone I knew saw how bad things had gotten but I was somehow blind to it.
Duke barks, pulling on his leash as JD and Big Bubba come into view around the bend of the trail. Big Bubba does the cute, tippy taps dance he always does when he’s excited and lightly pulls on the leash JD is holding.
“Morning,” JD says with a nod once we’re within earshot of each other.
“Morning.” I loosen the dogs’ leashes so they can all sniff each other.
JD is quiet and rarely starts a conversation on the best of days, so I expect him to stand there in silence. But instead, he surprises me.
“Your new girlfriend is nice,” he finally says, completely unprompted.
“You think so?” I raise both eyebrows in shock.
“Mmhm.” He tucks his hand into the pocket of his sweats. “You two complement each other. And she’s doing well with the company’s social media. It’s hard to attribute sales directly to that, but she’s helping us move in the direction I think the company should go in. Dad’s a little stuck in the past.”
I swallow, then nod. “Good. Glad you like her.”
He grunts in response, signaling the end of the conversation. I give Big Bubba a pat on the side as they continue on their walk.
I can’t believe JD actually said something about us. He tied the compliment to her work for the business, which makes sense, but he’s never had much of a personal opinion on anyone that I’ve dated.
Maybe it’s because he and Bianca are similar — quiet and icy on the outside, but nice when you get to know them. That has to be it. Otherwise, I’m worried he got kidnapped and replaced with a clone.
Then again, the consensus among my family members seems to be that she’s great. And she is. But I didn’t anticipate my family members liking her this much.
That was the whole point of the fake relationship, so why am I worrying about when we have to “break up”?
