We curled up therefor almost an hour recovering, snuggled together in the center of the bed. Sky was the one to finally break the peace between us.
He scooted away from me, dropping the corner of a blanket over his lap. “Ready to explain yourself, doll?”
I drew my knees up to my chest. “I’m sorry. I thought I was doing what was best for the three of you.”
Sky raised a brow. “I take it Whist helped you see the folly of that sort of thought?”
I bit my bottom lip and shot a glance at Whist’s expressionless face. “He did. Although I still think you’d all be better off. I’m worried one day you’ll regret it.”
In a rare flash of frustration, Saber yanked my feet and slid me down the bed until I laid flat beneath him, naked and vulnerable and sorry. “We will never regret finding you and choosing you. You are the answer to every secret hope of our hearts. We couldn’t have picked a kindred better if we’d wished for you. Other than your infernal stubborn hardheadedness. I could certainly do without that. And if you run from us again without a word, Whist won’t be the only one turning that beautiful ass of yours red. And I won’t use a hand.” His eyes flashed as he took in my hardened nipples.
Sky flicked one of the rosy buds, making me jerk. “Saber has a dark side as well, doll. It just takes a lot more to bring it out of him. I’m afraid you’ve tied yourself to a trio of assholes.”
“Luckily I’ve got more than a little asshole in me too.” I cupped Saber’s face in my hand, rubbing my thumb across his cheekbone, watching him soften. He kissed the top of my breast, my hand sliding around to the back of his head as he laid down on me, using my chest as a pillow.
Even after hours fucking, I still wanted them. Still ached for them.
Whist snorted from the other side of Sky. “You might be worse than us.”
I shoved away the lingering tendrils of lust. I may have wanted more, but my body needed to recover. “I tried to tell you I am way more trouble than I’m worth.”
Saber rolled off me and scowled. “And we told you, we don’t fucking care. You’re ours. You’re worth everything.”
I gulped and sat up, looking each one in the face. It was time. There was no way I could leave them, we were tied together for better or for worse. And I needed to tell them that. To banish the lingering hurt and doubts in their eyes.
“I was wrong. I never should have left you three. But I don’t need the three weeks to make my decision.”
Flashes of worry flickered across their faces.
I tangled my hands together in my lap to keep them still. “I’ve decided to accept the bond. I want to be with the three of you. If that means moving to another country, to Havisam, I’ll do it. Whatever it takes for us to make a life together.” It wasn’t fair to ask them to bend over backwards for me. My parents understood love even if they weren’t kindreds. They sacrificed everything, eventually even their lives, for love. They wouldn’t begrudge me the same.
Silence fell for a moment and I shifted nervously. Had they changed their minds?
They leapt onto me at the same time, burying me beneath a pile of happy, naked assassins.
I grinned and returned their kisses and embraces and watched as they kissed and embraced each other. After so many years alone, I finally had a family again.
I was home.
