It was late by thetime I returned to our rooms with my kindreds. It took hours for us to organize and settle everything and we still had loads to do. Indigo did, anyway. I’d tried to stay out of the way, plastered to Bastian. He refused to let go of me and I refused to leave his side. I’d done my part, the rest was up to Indigo. I didn’t envy the road ahead of her.
I couldn’t believe it was over, how easy it had been. Well, not easy, but not nearly as bloody as I’d expected. The king was finally off the throne, locked up and under guard in his rooms. I’d have preferred the dungeon, but this way, those loyal to him wouldn’t try to break him out or rebel against Indigo over how she treated him.
It would be tricky for her, still having the king alive while she took control, but if anyone could handle the mess, it was Indigo.
We collapsed on Saber and Sky’s bed, exhaustion puffing from all of us.
“You were amazing today, princess.” Aster ran a hand along my arm.
I shrugged. “Indigo did most of the work.”
Saber propped himself up by his elbow. “Don’t sell yourself short, love. Your music changes hearts and minds. We just watched it happen. The two of you were like magic, using your voices to sway everyone to our side. It was glorious.”
Bastian sighed. “I wish I could have seen it.”
Whist chuckled. “You did. Back at your home. They did the same thing.”
“Brilliant strategy.”
“Elora’s idea,” I said.
Bastian looked impressed. “Elora would make a good dragon.”
I expected some of them to take offense, but they only snorted and chuckled in reply. I sank deeper into the bed, my eyes heavy. It didn’t take long for sleep to overtake me, the soft whispers and teasing of my guys surrounding me, blanketing me in safety.
When I woke, the guys were already up except Bastian who was curled around me. I could hear the others puttering around in the rest of the house. I tried to scoot away without waking the dragon. He needed the rest after his time in the dungeon.
His arms tightened around my middle and he drew me closer with a grumble low in his chest. “Mine.”
I shuddered at his words and pressed back against him, smiling at the stiffness pressing back. “I thought you wanted to take things slow?” As much as I craved him, I had to be sure this was what he wanted.
“That was before I was tossed in a dungeon and thoughts of you kept me calm. And when I realized I didn’t have the slightest doubt that you’d come for me.”
I turned in his arms to face him. “Of course I came for you. I would always come for you.”
“I know. Which is why I have completely fallen in love with you despite the bond. Why I want the ceremony, all of it. Maybe it brought us together, but if it was only the bond I could have fought it easier. But you, you crazy little dragon, have wormed your way inside my soul and set up camp there. And so have your other kindreds. All of you have shown me I want more than a lonely existence of nothing but books and research. I want a family. I’ve missed having a family. And most of all, I want you.”
With a tightness swelling my throat, I nipped his jawline before kissing him, pouring everything I felt into the kiss. He growled and rolled us over until I was beneath him, dragging his lips across my skin, unwrapping my clothes as he went.
I arched against him, sighing out in pleasure as his tongue and teeth danced over my body. He tasted every inch of me before he finally sank inside. I cried out, satisfaction rippling out in waves as he plunged into me over and over, faster and faster, his lips locked onto mine, his tongue fucking me with the same motions as his cock.
Our hands explored every crevice and hidden spot on each other’s bodies, thrusting harder. My breath stuttered, and I murmured his name.
We came apart together, bucking and lurching against each other, sweat slicking our skin, breaths shuddering from our chests. The bond finally felt complete. Maybe I still wasn’t whole, but my bonds with them were.
He pressed a soft kiss on my lips, completely at odds with the mouth fucking he’d done. I shivered at the contrast, already craving him again. I would never get enough of my kindreds.
I jerked, startled at the sight of Whist standing in the corner. It shouldn’t have surprised me. Whist was such a voyeuristic asshole. And I loved it.
I held out my hand, wordlessly asking him to join us. He held up a finger and poked his head out of the door, whispering to someone out in the main room.
My other three kindreds filed into the room, smiles on their faces as they joined us on the bed. Bastian scooted over to make room for them. After all the stress and drama, we all needed touch, needed the reminder and reassurance we were safe, alive, together.
Aster slid into the spot behind Bastian, Sky and Saber settling on top and beside of me, Whist on the other side. It was a tight fit, Aster hadn’t gotten the chance to request a larger bed yet, but we could make it work.
Somehow the five of us moved in perfect harmony, like we’d been doing this for years. Hands stroked, tongues licked, teeth nipped, fingers explored. Most of the time the bliss was so strong I wasn’t sure who touched me or who I touched. They took turns sinking into me, sinking into each other, until we were all connected, moving in symphony, dancing to the same song.
I had Bastian beneath me, his hands squeezing my breasts while I rode him. Aster took me from behind with Whist behind him, fucking both of us. Sky plunged in and out of my mouth while Saber fucked him and Bastian licked at his balls. We swayed and rocked and our voices rose in moans and sighs and grunts.
Release became a domino effect starting with me, one after another we stiffened and yelled and jerked. My mind dazed, I sank onto Bastian’s chest, listening to the fast beat of his heart while I tried to return to earth.
Hands cleaned me and Bastian up, Aster and Saber snuggled beside us. I finally roused enough to raise my head and look for Sky and Whist, but they had disappeared.
Aster reached for me and pulled me on top of him, kissing the top of my head. “You all right, princess?”
“Never better.” I still wasn’t completely back, the sensations of what all of us together had been like still swirling through me.
“I’m getting the bigger bed brought here today. I’m still sore from Saber’s knee in my back.”
Saber reached across Bastian to shove the prince. “That was your knee in my back.”
“Oh, it wasn’t my knee.”
Whist and Sky came back in with trays in their hands holding breakfast and coffee. Aster sat up, tucking me between his legs, to make room for them and the food.
All of us still naked, we sipped coffee and munched and laughed and chatted, small reminders in the forms of bites and patches of raw skin and drying sweat on our bodies.
My heart swelled, my mouth full of pastry. “I love you. Every single one of you.”
They each froze, eyes wide before they turned to me, joy shining on their faces.
“We love you too, gorgeous. In fact, we were planning to ask you if you’d be willing to do the commitment ceremony with us soon.” Whist smiled and held out a necklace with a sparkling pendant in the shape of a music note.
My eyes filled as he placed it in my hand. “It’s beautiful.”
“We figured you’d like this better than a fancy ring.” Aster grinned. “I also retrieved your ukulele. It’s waiting for you in the music room.”
“You were right. It’s perfect. And thank you. I can’t wait to have it in my arms again.”
Sky gathered my hair into his hands so Saber could fasten the necklace around my neck.
“When did you have time to do this?” I asked, dazed, touched, in love.
Aster tossed his head with a huff. “I’m a prince, now the brother of the Queen. It only took an hour.”
I laughed and kissed my prince. “Don’t we need to get ready for the Indigo’s coronation?”
Aster bit his lip. “About that. There’s something we need to tell you about the ceremony.”
