B eau and Bryce slid into their seats, and I laced my fingers with Beau’s. “Everything okay?” I whispered.
Way too much distress had flooded down the bond from him. Every so often he would clamp down on it and muffle it, but however his conversation with Bryce had gone had made his control sporadic at best. It had tapered off right before they reappeared, tentative optimism replacing the torrent of pain.
“I think so,” he replied quietly. “It’s improved, at least, and we’re on the right path. He understands me more now, and I’m committed to working on things with him properly going forward.”
Bryce pulled Ava right onto his lap, her purr rumbling to life as she peeked over at me.
“I told Ava about the bonds. I figured you would’ve told Bryce when you left.”
“I did.” I still felt flickers of panic from him, but I leaned closer, tucking my head beneath his chin. He settled so quickly with my affection.
Dinner was already served, and we ate quietly, Beau and Francisco wedged on either side of me. Ava’s pack were manning the children: Sammy and Ollie sitting between Jesse and Micah, and Lucy on Luke’s lap, giving Ava and me a chance to fully relax. Half of my pack was in the show, and Francisco had been busy keeping me chilled out and getting to know Ava while Beau and Bryce had been hashing things out.
When we all finished eating and the dishes were cleared away, the house lights went down and back up to alert everyone the show was about to begin.
“Greetings one and all to Night of Knights!” a voice boomed over the speakers. “I am Arthur, King of the Britons, and tonight you will see my knights of the round table compete in feats of glory.”
I remembered the whole introduction from the last time I’d been here, and listened as he explained the knights each section would cheer for. With a surge of music, the knights raced out, rounding the arena so everyone could get a good look at them.
I let out an extra whoop of excitement when I caught sight of Eduardo and Dylan, playing Bedivere and Lancelot. Carmen as Guinevere came next with her Arthur, waving to the crowd as they crossed the arena to ascend to the royal balcony. Once they were seated on their thrones, Arthur began his narration again. “Fair maidens and noblemen, I have an announcement most joyous! Should you wish to train as one of us, be ye child or grown, local or traveler, our knights will be taking on squires! The riding and care of our noble steeds is a skill all knights must learn, and there will be lessons aplenty available, as well as camps where you may immerse yourself in the life of a knight.”
Excited whispers broke out across the audience, a small child behind us loudly asking their parents if they could be a knight.
“We also have a visiting royal tonight who will be assisting with the knight training, a former champion who has graced many an arena with her skills. Let us all welcome Queen Charlotte and her court to Camelot!”
The spotlight swung over to us and everyone clapped while my kids leapt up on their seats to wave to everyone.
“We have it on good authority that it is our fair queen’s birthday today.”
Oh lord.
Heat rushed into my cheeks.
“Let us make our visiting queen feel welcome. Wilt thou all join me in singing her a song to celebrate this day of her birth?”
Arthur started off the audience, and I quietly died of embarrassment while the whole arena sang to me. It was so sweet, but I felt the weight of every eye on me.
Relief tumbled through me when the show began in earnest and the attention of the audience diverted from me.
Madison tapped me on the shoulder. “What color are your boys in there so I know who to cheer extra loud for?”
“Red and yellow.”
“And it’s okay if we cheer for both even though we’re in the yellow section?”
“You can cheer for any of them. The rules aren’t super strict,” I replied.
She giggled, leaning even closer to whisper in my ear. “The one in green is cute as hell. If Tyler weren’t so opposed to a pack, I’d say you should introduce me.”
“That’s Leo,” Francisco whispered in my other ear, obviously eavesdropping. “He’s single if your friend ever wants to dump her deadweight for someone more fun.”
I choked on my water and Francisco helpfully patted my back. I glanced quickly behind us to make sure Tyler hadn’t overheard. He was such a sourpuss. I had only allowed him to come so Madison wouldn’t feel like she was alone at my party if I got distracted, but with how miserable he looked, I was kind of regretting that.
“You can meet everyone after the show,” Francisco offered to her. “They stick around in the arena for a while for anyone who wants pictures.”
Madison squeaked excitedly. “Absolutely yes. I can’t waste this dress.”
She and Ava did look particularly darling in the serving maiden outfits with the green cinched bodices, fluffy sleeves, and brocade patterned skirts. My own gown was an ice blue and pale gold brocade with sparkling gold piping and lacing. All the alphas had livery draped over their own clothing with a gold crown embroidered on the front.
The show was far more interesting this time, considering I was no longer riddled with anxiety, had Francisco at my side to tell me who everyone was, and I knew all the horses now.
“Scout is such a good boy for Eduardo. Maybe he doesn’t like me.”
“In fairness,” said Francisco, “Scout doesn’t like most people. He’s a simp for Eduardo, though.”
I watched my alphas compete in the javelin toss, my whole body tingling each time they struck the center. I held my breath through the sword fights and the jousting, cheering for each of them in turn.
By the time the show came to a close, I was giddy. If a couple hundred other people weren’t milling around, I’d have dragged Dylan and Eduardo right off their horses and ridden them into the arena floor.
Beau and Francisco sat stiffly at my side. I kept forgetting they would be able to feel my desire through the bond, but it wasn’t like I could turn it off.
Eduardo and Dylan came by our section, got photos with the fans who asked, and took my sons on a quick loop around the arena, to their absolute delight. They would both be going home with Ava’s pack so I could spend an uninterrupted night with mine.
Francisco waved Leo over so Madison could get a photo with him.
“Can I be on the horse too?” Madison asked. “Or would that be weird?”
“Eclipse is very sweet,” I assured her. “Do you mind, Leo?”
“Mind a pretty lady on a horse with me? Hell no.” He beamed. “Come on up, beautiful.”
Madison grinned and climbed right onto the arena barrier before Tyler realized what she was doing. Leo helped her settle on Eclipse, tucked onto his lap, her cheeks flushed bright pink.
They looked so pretty together, with twin mahogany heads, their eyes sparkling—hers chocolate brown and his a striking hazel. Tyler growled behind us, but I snapped a photo before he ordered her down, capturing the two beaming faces.
“We’re going,” Tyler snapped. “I’m tired of this shit.”
Madison pouted. “But I’m having fun.”
“And I’m not. So we’re going.”
Madison sighed and hopped down, Leo holding her waist so she didn’t fall. She pulled me into a hug. “Thank you so much for inviting me. I’m sorry about Tyler.”
“You don’t have to leave,” I insisted.
She waved me off. “Not worth the fight. He’ll be upset all week if I stay longer and I don’t want to deal with that. We’ll hang out again soon. Happy birthday.”
I watched the two of them leave, my stomach queasy.
“Well, he’s a fucking peach,” said Leo. “Why is she with that asshole?”
“She’s been with him a long time,” I replied, still watching Madison leave. “I think she’s just too comfortable to make a move to go anywhere, and I know how that feels. She won’t leave until the pain of staying is worse than the pain of going.”
Francisco and Beau squeezed my hands in quiet gestures of comfort.
I turned my focus back on the rest of my party, noticing Leo was still staring in the direction Madison had disappeared, his lips pulled into a frown.
“It would be bad if I went after her, right?” Leo asked, not looking at any of us.
“Her boyfriend doesn’t want her to pack up,” I pointed out.
“And what does she want? He can’t deny her a pack if she wants one.”
I chewed my lip. Andrew had done the same to me, so I couldn’t say much. “She’s told me she wants a pack, but she’s stuck on Tyler, and we can’t do anything for Madison until she’s ready.”
Leo sighed. “Pisses me off when alpha assholes are out here dimming the shine of their omegas.”
“Trust me, I agree.” With a sigh, I reached out to Eclipse and stroked his cheek, planting a few kisses on him. “You were the very best boy tonight.”
“Best boy every night,” Leo agreed. “I hear he’s your favorite for lessons.”
“He’s a dream.”
When Eduardo and Dylan brought back my boys, I gave the kids a goodbye hug and kiss before Ava and her pack took them to return their costumes. The arena emptied out quickly until only the staff and my pack remained.
“Nobody change clothes,” Dylan ordered. “I have a queen to swear fealty to.”
Heat ran down my spine and pulsed between my thighs.
Dylan held his hand out to me, beckoning. “Your Majesty.”
He drew me onto his lap, and I cast a glance to the others, making sure they were going to follow. Francisco was already ushering Beau along.
Dylan smelled like heaven on earth, with sweat dampening his temples, his leather and sweet cherry scent filling every breath. “My princess is a queen tonight.”
“Does a queen get treated differently than a princess?”
“I think a queen should get worshiped by her entire court, don’t you?”
I shivered, clinging tighter to him—side saddle in a gown wasn’t exactly the most secure position. “Can’t argue with that.”
“I’m going to eat that perfect pussy on the throne.”
It clenched, as if it had suddenly developed the ability to understand English.
“Gonna fuck you on it, too.”
“Dylan, for god’s sake, there’s still people here.” I squirmed, trying to squeeze my thighs together without destabilizing myself. “I don’t need the entire staff to know what you’re planning.”
“Oh, trust me, they know. I warned everyone to hustle their asses out of here as quickly as they could tonight. Perks of being in a pack with the boss.”
When we slipped into the stables, everyone was indeed working at double time: a bunch of the dancers were already changed and helping the knights get their horses cleaned up and fed for the night. I felt my blush all the way down my chest at the knowing looks they shot toward me.
Eduardo helped me off Applesauce and I bit my tongue to stop the groan that tried to escape as I slid down his body.
Francisco helped Dylan get everything off Applesauce and brush down her shining coat. I’d have offered to help, but I didn’t want the beautiful gown to end up covered in horse hair.
“Are you ready to play tonight, querida?”
“Might need to get myself a muzzle,” I joked. “I can’t be trusted.”
“But then how could I do this?” Eduardo purred and dipped down to claim my lips.
My body lit up immediately, craving everything he could give me. Beau pressed against my back and goosebumps burst across my skin.
Eduardo looked up at him. “Are you finally going to play with us too?”
“My willpower is only so strong. I think I used it all up the last time I said no to that. If Charlotte wants me, I’ll participate.”
“I want you.”
Eduardo chuckled.
“What time should I tell the limo to be here?” Beau asked.
“A limo ?”
“Of course, my dear. How else are we supposed to ruin you in style on the way back to your nest?”
I leaned my weight against Beau and dug my fingers into Eduardo’s arms so I didn’t simply melt to the floor. “I need everyone out of here in the next two minutes.”
“Getting a bit needy?” Eduardo asked, a satisfied smirk on his mouth.
“Maybe.” I squeezed my thighs together, panties already damp. “Who’s in charge of making sure I don’t bite anyone?”
“There’s four of us,” Beau reminded me. “Both bondings took place when it was one-on-one. We’ll do our best to manage things for you so you can enjoy instead of worrying.”
Eduardo scooped me right up, the gown bunching and exposing most of my legs. “Let’s get you on your throne, Your Majesty. The others will be finished soon.”
Desire was like magma in my core from the few curious gazes turned our way. Maybe omegas were so tuned to being watched because we were usually in a pack situation? I had never questioned how the thrill of almost getting caught or being somewhere I could be seen affected me. They all knew what we were going to do, and I was torn between feeling embarrassed and taking my alphas right there in front of them.
“Fucking Christ.” Beau turned away from the staff and adjusted his cock where it was trying to burst through the seams of his pants. “The bond went wild. Is it the other people around causing that? Almost took me out at the knees with that last surge.”
My cheeks warmed. “It might do a little something for me.”
Eduardo carried me out into the arena, Beau following closely as we took the stairs up to Arthur and Guinevere’s thrones. Francisco and Dylan raced after us. When Eduardo sat me down, the four of them stood there surveying me, each gaze hungrier than the last.
“Are you ready to play, my queen?” Dylan asked.
I swallowed hard, already desperate for someone to touch me. “Yes.”
“Good.” Dylan dropped to his knees. “Now be a good girl and spread those thighs so I can eat your cunt until you scream.”
