“This is a sight I could get used to,” I tease Sawyer, coming up behind him and wrapping my arms around him.
He laughs and leans against me. “You and my husband both wish.” He turns his head and presses a kiss to the corner of my mouth.
Grabbing his chin, I plant one fully on his lips, savoring the way he feels against me. It’s been at least two weeks since we’ve been able to have time together, which isn’t abnormal in a family like ours. As much as I love my life, sometimes coordinating with so many people can get a bit…tricky.
“Missed you,” I whisper against his mouth.
He hums and kisses me again before pulling away. “Missed you too, love. Go on, get changed. Vincent is on his way, and dinner should be ready by the time he gets here.”
I groan and let him go. I’m not surprised by this dinner, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready for it.
“You knew this was coming the second you called me yesterday,” he points out.
Rolling my eyes, I start to leave the kitchen. “Doesn’t mean I have to like it!” I call over my shoulder.
Sawyer’s right, though. I knew what I was doing when I called him and told him about my date with Graham. Open communication and trust are the foundations on which we built our lives. After almost losing each other in college, the three of us agreed to be as open and honest as possible.
It hasn’t been easy, but I’d like to think the older we get, the wiser we get as well. So, I expected them to want to talk, I just didn’t know it’d be right away. But maybe I should have. Sawyer, for all his patience and understanding, isn’t one to let things stew.

After a quick shower,I head back downstairs to find Vincent sitting at the island with a glass of wine while Sawyer dishes out the food.
I take an appreciative whiff and my stomach growls, reminding me the only thing I had today aside from coffee was a muffin around noon.
“God, I love you,” I say, taking a seat next to Vincent.
Sawyer grins. “Are you talking to me or the food?”
“Definitely the chicken,” I quip.
Vincent pours me a glass of wine, and I lean over to kiss him. “Thank you. How was your day?”
He shrugs and reaches up to brush some hair away from my forehead. “Pretty normal. Closed a case, met with another potential client, the usual. Yours?”
“Eh. Dodged a persistent store manager and tried to get actual work done rather than stare at my new love interest, so normal for me as well.”
Vincent snorts at that. “Can we eat before we discuss your new ‘love interest’?”
“Yep,” Sawyer says, dragging a stool around to the other side of the island so he can face us. “Dig in.”
I don’t need more prompting than that, groaning at my first bite.
Sawyer laughs. “I know I’m a good cook, love, but I don’t think rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, and vegetables are porn-worthy.”
“Shut up, I’m starving.”
Both my lovers shake their heads at me but let me eat in peace, knowing that when I get absorbed in work, little things like feeding myself go by the wayside.
When our stomachs are full and Vincent has poured us all more wine, I sigh and lean back in my seat. “Okay,” I say, swirling the wine around in my glass for something to do. “Yes, I met someone new. Y’all know I haven’t been actively dating, so I didn’t expect it. And we’ve only known each other a few days, so it could be nothing.”
I take a drink of wine and mull over my next words. “I don’t know what y’all want me to say. Am I attracted to him? Yes. And the two times we’ve hung out have been good. Though, one was just me buying him a late-night birthday dinner, because I don’t think anyone else cared to even do that. All I know is he’s someone I want to get to know better.” I meet Sawyer’s eyes across the counter, continuing, “I think I finally understand what you meant when you met Blaise and knew he was it for you. I know I teased you about being a smitten puppy, but sometimes you just know. I knew when I met you that you’d be someone I wanted in my life forever. I never expected we’d end up here, but I knew I didn’t want to let you go.” Turning to Vincent, I give him a soft smile that he returns. “Same with you. I was so confused, because I knew I loved Sawyer, even if I didn’t dare make a move on him back then. But when I met you, I wanted you in my life as well. That’s how it feels with Graham. I want to be someone in his life, even if it ends up as just friends.”
Vincent reaches for my hand and threads our fingers together. “Okay. I can see the sincerity in your eyes and hear it in your tone. And that’s all I’ve ever asked from you. I want to see you happy, and if you’ve met someone who has the potential to do that, I won’t stand in your way.”
“Me either.” Sawyer gets up and rounds the island. He leans down to kiss me gently. “I love you, Eric. I have since I was twenty years old. I’ve trusted you almost from the day we met. You haven’t steered us or our relationship wrong yet, so I’ll be here while you navigate this newfound potential partner of yours.”
“Thank you. I love you, both of you.”
Sawyer smiles. “We know.”
Vincent squeezes my hand and I turn back to him, leaning forward to kiss him deeply.
These two men… I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them. They’ve helped shape me, and I’d be lost without their support, their love. While I don’t exactly need their approval to date Graham—that’s not the relationship I have with either of them—getting them to understand where I’m coming from, and how I feel, will make it easier to eventually integrate Graham into our lives.
This family we’ve built is something special, and I can’t wait to share it with him. Something tells me he needs it as much as we do, maybe even more.
