Epilogue
Leonard
“Doctor, your five o’clock is here.” Kathy’s voice rings out through my phone.
I frown.
“I don’t have a five o’clock,” I mutter.
Pulling up my calendar, I frown. I don’t have anyone down.
The door to my office opens, revealing my wife. I instantly grin.
“Hi, Dr. Moore.”
“Good evening, Mrs. Moore. What can I do for you today?” I ask, playing along.
Shelby bites her bottom lip. “I was hoping to change my birth control.”
I frown. “No problem. What method do you want to switch to?”
Looking at me from beneath her lashes, Shelby blushes. “Actually, I was hoping to take it out.”
My heart rate spikes. Eyeing her arm where the device is embedded, I round my desk, cupping her face. “Are you sure?” I ask softly.
Taking a deep breath, she nods. “I’m sure,” she whispers.
My cock jumps to life.
Grasping her hips, I lift her gently onto my desk and press a soft kiss to her lips. “There’s no rush,” I remind her.
I’ll wait as long as you need.
“I’m ready,” she breathes against my lips.
The next time my lips touch hers, it’s with bruising strength. Her legs part, allowing me to step between them.
“Do you want to take it out first?” she asks, lifting her arm.
I shake my head, already fighting with my belt buckle. “I can’t wait. I need you first.”
Her laughter is bubbly and light. Pure, just like she is.
Grasping the back of her neck, I gaze down at her, knowing that I’ve never loved her more than I do right now and that the same will be true again tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that.
The same as it’s been for the past two years.
Every day, I fall more and more in love with my wife. The woman who knows every part of my soul and still loves me, even the darkest side.
Shelby is my love, my light, my life.
A lifetime with her isn’t enough.
The End.
