Mace Chapter 18

It was damn near impossible for me to let Jessamy go the next morning. I know the other men felt the same about their families, but it was for their safety. It was decided that Agony, Dare, Knight, Twisted, and I wouldn’t accompany any of them. It was to prevent inadvertently exposing which vehicle had which woman. Our kisses and whispered words were done in private.

I’d been waiting for this nightmare of Jessamy’s to be over and for her to be more settled into being my old lady before telling her that I loved her. However, I accidentally put it in the text yesterday, and with this departure, I couldn’t let her go without officially telling her. We were wrapped in each other’s arms and exchanged multiple kisses. I knew it was time to get her in the car. Before letting go, I lifted her chin so she had to stare me in the eyes.

“Jessamy, my beautiful Madonna. There’s something I’ve been wanting to say for a long time. I know it might seem too fast or impossible, but it isn’t. I texted I love you yesterday. It was the God’s truth. I love you so much. I wanted you to know that. And to know that I’m confident you’ll love me one day, too. I’ll make sure of it,” I ended with a smirk.

She didn’t smile. Instead, she tugged my head down to her. “Tiergan Curran, I’ve been waiting for you to say that so I could tell you that I love you. It’s quick, but it’s meant to be. I feel it in my heart. Thank you for telling me. Please, be careful. I can’t lose you, and I don’t want you or anyone else to get hurt doing whatever it is you plan to do.”

I was thrilled to know she loved me. We kissed. Right after that, I had to put her in the car. Since she didn’t have anyone with her, I asked if Atticus could be her driver and a face from home. No one objected. He was in the front seat, and she would stay hidden in the backseat. The dark windows disguised who she was.

My heart ached as the cars that had gathered at the clubhouse pulled out of the compound with their escorts, one after the other. Agony’s family was headed to Dublin Falls. Dare’s was on their way to Oconee. It made sense because Joli’s cousin, Chaos, was a member there. The Iron Punishers were hosting Knight’s family, leaving Twisted’s to go to the Ruthless Marauders.

The Horsemen of Wrath would’ve been an option, but Agony had told us that they were dealing with an issue that wasn’t that dissimilar in ways to ours. They were having the Dark Patriots assist them. That meant the Patriots were dividing their time between us and them, plus whatever else they had going on. They deserved something for that.

The club sluts were told that they were to stay away from the compound until further notice. No hang arounds or sluts would come by at night, even if we were there. We didn’t want to put targets on their backs, either. I had to fight to get my head in the game. We’d be told when they arrived at their various destinations. Now, it was time to get our war plans in line.
