Chapter Ten
Elsa
“Have a good day, beautiful,” Miles whispers against my throat as he slides up behind me. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this rush that I’ve longed for since I was barely a teen.
Spinning around in his arms, I look up at him and love the fact that he didn’t have time to shave this morning. I caress his scruffy jaw. “I’ll try, but since someone made me so sore, I’m having a hard time walking.”
He pulls me in so I can feel just why I ache. “You can always skip class.”
“No, you know I can’t,” I huff, gently pushing away from him enough to get some distance from his dangerously tempting cock. He’s not serious, but the lecherous look in his eyes tells me that he’d gladly play hooky with me.
He sighs and then smiles. “It’s fine. I have to work anyway. Let me walk you out,” he says, taking my book bag and slinging it over his shoulder. “Fuck, Princess. This thing is ridiculous. You shouldn’t be carrying this.”
“It’s not that bad.” I reach for it, but he stops me and takes my hand.
“I love your independence and strength, but while I’m around, it’s not necessary.”
“Are you always going to be like this?”
“Yes. I thought you would have gotten used to this, having grown up with your father.”
“I did. I just don’t want to be disappointed once the honeymoon phase ends.”
“There is no honeymoon phase for us, Princess.”
“I will see you tonight at home.”
“That you will. We have a wedding to plan.” He gently rubs my engagement ring that I love so much. I can’t believe I was so damn blind to his love. What was wrong with me?
I squeeze his strong fingers that hold mine. “Yes, but I’m sure my mother would love to be involved in all of that, as would yours.”
“The more, the merrier. As long as you’re my wife, nothing else matters, Elsa.” I arch up on my toes and kiss his lips before getting into my car. “Be careful.”
“I always am.” I smile and drive off. His parents are coming up next week to spend some time shopping for the wedding and talking plans.
I love his mom. She’s so talented, and I wonder if she’ll be up to performing at our wedding.
She’s a professional pianist, and his parents met at one of her shows.
I smile when I think about how much love our parents have spread to us. Miles shows me every single moment. When I get to school, I get a message from him. Stay safe, my love. I can’t wait for tonight.
Me either. I love you more.
Not possible.
I don’t even respond because I don’t have time, and I’m not going to win. He’ll probably show up here, carry me right out of class, and fuck me on the nearest isolated place. Smiling all morning, I make it through my first class and then run into my bestie.
“Girl, I love how happy you are.” She hugs me so hard.
“Thanks. Can a girl be this happy? I am spoiled.”
“Duh, but you deserve it. Now only if your hot brother would notice me, that would be great.”
“I’ll put in a good word for you.” I wink.
“Please don’t. I think I would die.”
“Ange, you are ridiculous. Have you even given him the slightest hint that you like him? You know they are clueless when it comes to things like that.”
“I know, but I’m sure he doesn’t like me, so it’s cool. Anyway, we’re going to be late. Can we catch up tomorrow and do a girls’ day?”
“I’d like that.”
“Awesome. I miss my bestie.” We hug again before going our separate ways, and I head toward my next class.
There’s a sign on the front door saying to use the side entrance, so I swiftly turn around and then there’s a large explosion near the area I just left with Ange.
I look back to see what’s happening and pray she’s nowhere near there, but I’m stopped by a hand to my mouth.
I bite at the hand, only to feel a pinch on the skin of my arm.
“Oh my God. Let me go.” He drags me off as if I weigh nothing.
Suddenly I can’t move my body, as if I’ve lost control of it.
What the hell happened to me, and where is my security?
I heard the commotion in the quad, but I’d been almost to the main doors of the building to my next class when it happened.
“What are you doing? Where are you taking me?” The world around me spins, and everything moves at lightning speed.
“You’ll see.”
“Oh my God, it’s you.”
I haven’t seen him since I ran away two years ago, but he looks so different.
It’s like he’s done something to his face.
“Yes it’s me. I look a little different, don’t I?
” I don’t say anything, but my silence is all he needs to continue.
“You have your fucking filthy-ass brother to thank for that. I should give you what you deserve, but just looking at you makes me fucking sick.”
He makes a gagging sound, then clears his throat.
“I want to destroy your entire family. Killing you would accomplish that nicely, but I wouldn’t get enough joy out of that.
I want you to witness their deaths before you die.
” He tries to laugh maniacally, but it comes out weakly because his voice cracks.
I don’t know what the hell happened to him, but he clearly is messed up and he wants his revenge.
I close my eyes and pray that my family realizes that I’m missing. There was an incident at school when he grabbed me. What if my guards were harmed in the process?
“Don’t go praying that someone is going to save you,” he sneers, grabbing my face roughly before shoving me down on the cold floor.
I’m not sure where he’s taken me, but there’s not a lot of light or exits in the room.
The walls are made of stone, and the floor is cold.
My heart’s racing as I think about my trackers.
My engagement ring is gone, and I know Miles had one in there for my safety and one for the ring in case it was lost. Still, my dad made sure I had several on me.
I’m in my clothes, but my shoes and bracelets are gone. The bastards are smarter than they look, but I have a chip in my thigh. All my father has to do is track it. Hopefully it still works and can track me.
“What does it matter if you’re going to kill me anyway?” I’m not sure why I’m goading a madman.
“It doesn’t, but I left a mess at the school.
I’m not going to just make it easy for them to find you.
Your dad, your mother, and your brothers will all pay for what they did to me.
Just because you’re a little fucking prude.
You weren’t that damn special. Just another dumb little spoiled princess and everyone thought you were protected by some rich thug.
Ha.” He shakes his head, smiling to himself like he has his own little private joke.
“That’s funny. He couldn’t protect you from me because he’s too busy.
You’re not that important to him, not even a bit.
He’s probably chasing some whore at his hotel.
By the time they realize you’re gone, they’re not going to know where to find you. ”
“You’re the sick one—so damn twisted. I can’t believe you found me. I can’t believe you’re even here. I don’t know what happened. I’m sorry for whatever they did, but this has nothing to do with me.”
He tilts his head in a demented manner with his eyes turning cold and full of fury. “It has everything to do with you. This is all your fucking fault, you stupid bitch,” he screams so violently that spit shoots from his crooked jaw. I swipe it away from my face.
“You’re one of those guys who pretend to be one thing, but you’re really not. I made the mistake of even thinking that you were nice.”
“Wah, wah, wah, you are such a whiny little bitch. Especially since you gave your pussy up to a man who is far from nice.”
“I don’t care what you have to say about Miles because it’s a lie, and anything that you say or do from now on holds no weight with me.
You’re holding me captive, and you physically abused me, therefore nothing that comes out of your mouth has any value.
My daddy always told me that a man that hits a woman isn’t a man, so I don’t care what you have to say about my family or my fiancé.
Do your best because I’ve seen you, and you are the worst.”
He grows angrier and then his fist comes down one more time. The room spins for a brief moment, and then I hear other voices. “Please be help,” I whisper.
“No one is coming to help you.” I recognize the voice from the hotel, but it isn’t someone that worked for my father or Miles. He’s one of the men who tried to buy my father out. He slams my head down and I pretend to black out, but I won’t forget his face and voice.
