Chapter 31
-Annabella-
K ace had been very cold toward me in the beginning, but I couldn’t say I had been very different. But now I couldn’t get my husband to give me some distance.
I was unsure what exactly had changed, but he seemed hungrier for me, almost like I was passing tests and moving up the levels. It was a ridiculous thought, but Kace wouldn’t even let me shower in peace.
He insisted on staying by the door, watching me. Honestly, I found it amusing and allowed him to. I was starting to feel so comfortable in Kace’s presence, and he had already touched me and made me come on his tongue. He could watch me shower.
It even aroused me, knowing he was watching, his eyes carrying a dark intensity as they traced over my body, clearly reveling in the sight.
“You know it isn’t very polite to stare,” I teased him.
It just made him laugh, and I enjoyed the sound of it. But I couldn’t stay in the shower forever. I walked out, wrapping a towel around me, hearing him complain about the fact that he couldn’t see me naked anymore. I smiled, shaking my head a little.
“Need any help showering?” I asked him.
“Oh, you would get naked again?” he inquired.
I chuckled, shaking my head again. “It’s just if you needed any help…”
“I’m fine,” he promised me.
“All right, then I will go to my room and get dressed.”
I was about to walk past him when he reached out, grabbing my thigh, and I turned to him, smiling.
“We could also move some of your stuff here, and then you wouldn’t have to go half-naked back to your bedroom,” he suggested.
I thought about it but was unsure if we should repeat this.
“How about we only move a little, and for a few nights you stay here, so we can see how it works?” he asked.
I thought about it some more, then nodded. “Okay, I think that’s a good compromise.”
“Great.”
He seemed happy with my answer, then he rolled into the bathroom, and I left, hearing the door close. I walked down the hallway to my room and got dressed, picking out a few things I could take to Kace’s room.
I soon returned to Kace’s bedroom, where I began putting some stuff into his closet and drawers. As I was unpacking, I came across a few pictures hanging on the wall that I hadn’t paid attention to before, but as I looked at them, I began smiling.
One of them was Kace, with his friends standing on a yacht. Another was him out flying. I didn’t know he had a pilot’s license, and when he came out of the bathroom, he saw me standing there, looking at the pictures.
“You fly?” I asked.
“I do indeed,” he replied.
“Do you fly your own plane?”
“I do have a private plane, but I don’t fly that,” he informed me. “But I can control one.”
“Wow,” I murmured, feeling impressed. “I wish I could do more than just drive a car.”
“Then you should learn. I can drive a bike as well. Now they all just stand in the garage. Maybe I should teach you.”
“To drive a motorcycle? I think you have lost your mind,” I chuckled.
“Why? Don’t you want to be a little more daring?”
“I would crash,” I countered.
“Good, I have more, then,” he said.
“Kace,” I chuckled.
“What?” he asked, and as I walked by him, he reached out, grabbing my waist again and pulling me to him, placing me on his lap. He seemed to enjoy having me close, and he smelled so good now that he had come out of the shower. It made my head spin.
He brought us so close together that there were only inches between us, and all I could think about was kissing him, and so I did. I brought him to me, kissing him hard and moaning softly as his tongue slipped into my mouth. God, I loved his kisses.
“Anna,” he whispered, his hand resting lightly on my ass, gently squeezing. Today, pulling away was particularly difficult—it felt too good, almost addictive. Yet, hunger gnawed at me.
During dinner with my family, my appetite had vanished completely. That was the effect they had on me. Kace looked slightly disappointed as I withdrew, clearly eager for more, but I shook my head.
“I’m hungry,” I informed him.
He chuckled a little, kissing my lips again. “Then we should get you something to eat.”
I was about to stand up, but then he moved the chair, and I laughed, holding onto him. I opened the doors, and we drove out and moved outside to the big, wide porch, where breakfast had already been served, but now I wanted my own chair. Kace let me get up, and I placed myself in a chair beside him, smiling and feeling good this morning.
“God, I love your smile,” he murmured longingly.
“It is easy to smile this morning,” I admitted.
“And why is that?”
I gave him a look that conveyed what I had been trying to say with my little comment, but his hand reached out, and his fingers began stroking my naked thigh. I wasn’t wearing a skirt this morning but shorts, and he couldn’t move his fingers that high this time.
Yet his touch still did funny things to me, and I loved it when he caressed me. However, I had to focus on eating, so grabbed his hand, placing it on the armrest of his chair.
“I can’t touch now?” he inquired.
“I’m eating,” I chuckled. “And you should too.”
“You could feed me.”
I raised an eyebrow, and it was a clear no. If I let him come too close, then I was screwed.
“I think we should eat,” I told him.
“Fine, fuel, and then we go back to the bedroom,” he suggested.
“You have work! You always do,” I reminded him.
“Say the word, and the work can be put away,” he told me, surprising me.
“What?”
“Why not? I can spend the day with my wife if she wants me to.”
“You always have work,” I shot back.
“But I’m also the boss,” he reminded me.
I looked suspiciously at him, moving a little closer, and he moved toward me. The energy shifted whenever we were this close, and I felt a need to reach out and grab him. But before I could, we heard a voice being cleared, and then we turned our heads, seeing Kace’s friend Cody standing there.
“Room for a third?” he asked, coming around the table and sitting down in front of us.
“Not really,” Kace said, sounding very dissatisfied with the surprise visit.
“Morning,” he told me.
“Morning,” I chuckled, grabbing my coffee and sipping it.
“No, really, there isn’t room,” Kace snapped.
“Oh, expecting more company, or do you just hope to make your wife your breakfast?”
I coughed, getting the coffee stuck in my throat, which made Cody laugh as he continued to eat breakfast with us. I quickly grabbed a napkin, wiping my mouth, and slowly turned to Kace, who was glaring at Cody, not looking like he wanted him there.
“Don’t you have somewhere to be?” he asked.
“No, I'm all yours today, or I can be both of yours,” he said, pointing at us both.
“I know the world is evolving, but I don’t think I want a third to join this marriage,” I joked, making Cody laugh again.
“I like you,” he said, making me smile.
