Epilogue - Blossom

One Year Later

" Have you decided on a name for the kittens yet?" Chance asks as we switch babies for me to nurse. I'm not as flexible as Poppy, I can't feed both my babies at the same time. Unlike her who has no problem nursing all four of her kittens at the same time. As Milo, the proud papa, snuggles her from behind lovingly licking her neck.

"I was thinking we could name the boy kitten Milo junior or MJ for short." I stroke the head of the baby I'm nursing, Chance junior, or CJ for short as Chance rocks our daughter Lily. She was either going to be named Star or Lily after the flowers Chance bought from my shop on the first day we met.

Milo stops licking Poppy's neck long enough to raise his head with a meow, seeming to agree with the name Milo junior for his son.

"What about the three female kittens?"

"I was thinking Daisy, Violet, and Ivy. You know to go along with our girl flower theme names." Poppy is the one to meow her agreement this time.

"I think they're perfect names, for our perfect family." Chance eases out of the rocking chair to take a seat next to me on the couch. "I love you, Blossom." He kisses my lips softly making sure not to disturb either of the babies.

"And I love you, Chance." I whisper against his lips.

What a difference one year can make. Last year at this time I was alone on Valentine's Day with only Milo for company until Chance rescued us from that snowy ditch. Fastforward twelve months later and we have two babies, and four more cats added to our family.

I thank my lucky stars everyday my recluse mountain man took a chance on me and claimed me for his own.
