“Morning, honey.”
“Are you okay, honey?” Wendy asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Sorry, I have a lot on my mind.”
“No.”
“That’s not like you.”
“Sorry, I just … it’s fine. You know.”
“I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Is there anyone you like?” Wendy asked.
“No, there is no one in No Wolves Road.”
“Morning, honey.”
“No.”
“Maybe it’s your bad attitude.”
“I don’t have a bad attitude.”
“Why?” Eloise asked.
“No, I’m not very hungry.”

“It’s fine,” she said.
“It’s fine,” she said again.

“You could have told me many times.”
“I could have made it … better.”
“I don’t like you,” she said.
